I've been wondering that myself. The touchscreen is perfect for aiming. The only thing better is mouse aiming.
Edit: Wait, Wii-mote aiming is better too.

n-space wanted to make modern warfare 3 on 3DS back in 2011, they got told to make it for DS instead
it might as well not have
Having them make a CoD on 3DS would be worse than not having one at all to me. I'd rather just not have the game than a sub-par experience. They were fine as DS developers, but I expect more on the 3DS.
I just hope that HVS might bring back Conduit 3DS (I know it isn't going to happen)...
You guess there's Kid Icarus ? There's Kid Icarus ! One of the greatest shooter ever made (I'm not even going hyperbole here.)
Or shooter games.
The DS had several and some, in my opinion, were pretty decent. Metroid Prime Hunters was a pretty fun arena shooter (though a bad Prime game), the Call of Duty games weren't too bad, the Renegaade kid games were decent and I thought that the Brothers in Arms game was pretty good.
The touchscreen is good for shooter games like these (better than a analog stick) and the improved hardware could really benefit full 3D games such as FPS or shooters.
So where are they? I guess there's Kid Icarus (I guess debatable) or MGS3 but there should be more.
You've got to be fukcing kidding me... every single FPS on the DS was terribad... extremely terribad. There wasn't a single one that was even decent, and I seriously don't get why people like that Metroid DS game. That piece of shit gave me fucking cancer.
FPS games on the 3DS would work about as well as they did on PSP with the face buttons, and spectacularly with the accessory extra slide pad... but the DS games sucked completely.
touchscreen controls? god the DS made me despise Nintendo... they ruined so many games with the goddamned forced touchscreen/stylus bullshit...
The touch screen allows for better accuracy and faster aiming. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't want that. Do Vita shooters not have the option for touch screen aiming?
I dont understand how some people think touchscreen shooting is even viable? It just doesn't work.. It's not precise enough and you obscure the whole screen

Shooters don't belong on a handheld imo. Never did, never will do.
why would you want to play a shooter on the 3DS/DS when you are basically limited to movement and a trigger? I liked Dementium and Moon, but that was not the platform I would want to play those on.
No, the Vita uses a capacitive touch screen, which is completely unsuitable for anything requiring accuracy compared to the DS's resistive screen . Not to mention your finger would constantly block the action on the screen.
Some Vita (and 3DS) shooters do use gyro, which is a million times better than a thumbstick as far as accuracy is concerned, (not to mention it doesn't force you to take your thumb away from the face buttons), but it's not really suitable for making large adjustments unless you're standing up or sitting in a swivel chair or something.
It's impressive how many people feel that an analog stick is inferior to the DS FPS control scheme; considering how much faster and accurate it is. It's like using a mouse.
