Where is Mario Galaxy 1/2 HD editions?

The stench of entitlement when a poster says "Where is my ______?" is absolutely nauseating.

Not coming from people like me that paid full price for a wii u day one it's not.
Seriously, if nintendo can't even deliver a semi steady stream of new titles, then they should at least give us hd updates, or a great virtual console.
instead we get lied to about release dates, virtually no virtual console and "please understand".

I'm entitled to software for the console i just purchased yes.
especially when you go on stage announcing all these parterships and games, that suddenly disappear.

I'm calling 3dworld that yes.
please don't start accusing me of trolling, we've all seen world 6 already.
it looks pathetic.
no wonder it got pushed forward to november, it's probably been ready since may,
like pikmin was ready may, but they held it for the big end of year push.

I would buy both galaxy games in hd for double their original prices.
do it nintendo!
Yes because a few stages of the game we've seen in video is enough to indict the game as Babby's First Mario. Super Mario 3D Land was easy... then there was a whole other second half to the game. The derision given towards this game is just baffling to me.

So you think it would be better for them to decrease the pace at which they're releasing new titles to work on old ones?

And this stuff REALLY doesn't have to be on the same level as Wind Waker HD. I just want the same games with pretty HD graphics for $30 a pop.

" Nintendo is just rehashing the same old games again."

"Nintendo, where is my XY HD?"
You might want to sit down for this: different people want different things.

they are worried it would outsell 3d land u if released.
I'm not sure they'd be too upset if they got more sales of anything. But the point is valid - Galaxy 1 and 2 in HD would perhaps not show 3D World in the best light, as the visuals would be very comparable, and from what we've seen so far, 3D World seems less ambitious. Not exactly a step backwards, but more of a sidestep...

I wouldn't be surprised to see Galaxy HD eventually though.

I am REALLY hoping we see a whole heap of GCN/Wii games rereleased as HD versions.

My Wish list:

Mario Galaxy 1/2
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader (maybe add online multiplayer)
Resident Evil (GCN remake)
Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes
Metroid Prime 1,2,3
Zelda: Twilight Princess
Zelda: Skyward Sword
Super Monkey Ball 1/2

It's amazing how good Mario Galaxy can look by upping the resolution. One of the best looking games ever.

The graphics are well designed. The poly counts are low enough that modeling actually matters. Everything about the graphics of the Galaxy series is nearly flawless. This adds to its beauty.

when they have show off worlds 4 and 6, yet they still look dull,
boring and piss easy then yes.
And when that one level we keep seeing with the hills and mice is labeled as being world 2 and not the very first level.
yes, i think i have reason to be concerned.
what they are doing is the correct decision in terms of sales to young children and families,
but for everyone else it sucks.

oh and 3dland's after party.....
a second half to the game which was still easy until the last world,
great.

I'd be more interested in HD versions of Metroid Prime 3, Battalion Wars 2 and Skyward Sword. those games had really nice art styles that were clearly held back by the resolution and tech. My want for HD Metroid Prime 3 was made worse by how similar in art style Halo 4 ended up being.

So you think it would be better for them to decrease the pace at which they're releasing new titles to work on old ones?

I can't imagine the pace could get any slower myself,
especially from january until a month ago.
And besides, if they can simply knock mario u together so cheaply and fast,
by just re-using assets from the wii game,
then i can't imagine updating mario galaxy would take that much effort, they don't have to change a thing.

And do you really believe that nintendo is stretched creating new software?
If nintendo was to really try, and i mean really try, then they could crush anyone. problem is that they have gotten lazy, and unwilling to part with their hoards of gold.
Given the history they have, and the treasure chest they are hiding, your telling me that they can't afford to put a tiny team of people on to making hd ports.

Look at what the 360 does to certain old Xbox games, e.g. Halo 1. (I'm talking about an original 2001 copy of the game, mind.) It upscales it to 720p, and it looks fantastic on an HDTV.

Why can't the Wii U do that for Wii games? What's the problem, N???

I have a cheap 32 LCD TV, old 42 Samsung plasma and a new LG 3D LED. I find Wii games to look better on the plasma TV, as a matter of fact watching my kid play I have been able to appreciate Wii graphics more, call me crazy but that is true.

I'm 31 years old and I've been playing video games for over 25 years now. I don't plan on playing it with anyone else, I don't have any children to buy it for. I'm a grown ass man and I want the game. Doesn't suck for me.

There's no sense in getting bent out of shape over the handful of videos Nintendo puts out of their games. They very, very, very rarely show anything good in what they put out. I didn't love NSMB2 but there were some fun worlds. All the stuff they showed prior to launch looked like shit, but when I saw some of the levels at the end of a launch video I was sold. NSMBU seemed pretty run of the mill until late into its development cycle. And even then, you don't get to grasp just how good the level/game design are until you play it yourself.

Don't buy the game if you don't want it. That's fine. But don't talk like you know what the game is or isn't until you've played it. Maybe it'll actually be Babby's First Mario and it'll suck dog shit. If so I'll be disappointed. But I trust they know how to balance the game and I look forward to playing it.

but it is not 3d world is a different game
Oh this was just a typo. Probably because I was thinking of all the people who call this a port of 3D Land which is maybe even more infuriating to me than people calling it Babby's First Mario.

I'd be much happier seeing Galaxy for the U than the *new* Mario game we're getting this fall. Just strip out all the Wiimote garbage and I'd be happy.

ha ha ha, no chance. :-(
instead we are getting
my first mario, co op party fun, press A to win game.
thanks iwata!
should have been out in february to apologise for the waiting game

Pretty sure that you have to use the B button to run and to use the fireball.

So your troll logic fails.

no wonder it got pushed forward to november,

Or there could be a extra secret level that has a harder difficulty like 3D land did.

If Pikmin 3 was ready in May then Nintendo would have released the game in May, but that clearly didn't happen.

Nintendo release their games when they are ready.

I would buy all those day one. Gamecube stuff would have no problem being translated to the Gamepad/Pro controller controls either.

Amen man!! The reveal was disappointing, but I have faith in EAD, and if you actually listened to the developer direct, he says they are incorporating everything they learned (20 years) in this title.

Screw your cynicism guys. I've been waiting 17 years for a true Mario 64 sequel and/or remake that makes it look like the box art.

I'd quite happily buy Galaxy HD.

Also Twilight Princess HD, Eternal Darkness HD and Twin Snakes HD. But none of this will ever happen because Nintendo's Nintendo.

Its coming out when Nintendo finally goes next gen, i seriously think it would be a waste if they made a HD port now, it deserves better.

To be honest, I'd rather they use Sunshine. A lot of people have forgotten what a gem of a game it was. And it would look amazing utilizing 1080p resolution and the increased power of the Wii U.

The bright color scheme, the use of water and draw distance in the levels. People who wanted to play SM64 could do so with the re-release for the DS, and most people just played Galaxy a few years ago.

It's been over a decade for Sunshine and not many people remember it, or if they even played it.

These games have more annoying software-related emulation issues than average

Mainly music and targeting glitches, which when riding Yoshi cannot be played at all without changing setting that really slow the game down.

Point is that I would buy a Wii U for these...

...and I am confident Nintendo will never do it.

It's on PC
