Where's all the plus sized main characters at?

Are you seriously comparing having some extra weight to cancer?

Just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean everybody doesn't like it too.
I love seeing men with beer bellies!
Where do we draw the line between extra weight and health hazard?

Someone could weight more because they're made up of muscles, or someone could weight more because it's all body fat.
The latter is not what I would call positive for your health.

I also never said you can't like it. Just keep in mind it's still not medically ideal.

Maybe a better example would be comparing it to skinniness? It's ok to be a little smaller on average, but if you start showing signs of malnutrition then I wouldn't praise it.

Promoting positive body image is important, but also being heavy set isn't healthy, so is that really what needs to pushed?
My stance is just to leave it to the game developer.

If someone wants to make a game with their fantasy 500+ pound characters then whatever. But forcing every game to have slightly to massively obese characters is a no no.

It's the same thing "sexy" characters. People should be free to not want to look at them, but it doesn't mean we ban all games just for having them.

I don't even think having fat characters is necessary a bad thing. I just gave my reasons why it's not the most popular design though.

You wont get them because these game corps are not really committed to their inclusiviness narrative, pretending is enough to collect virtuosity credits.

tkscz tkscz needs to be summoned here. One example is in his avatar.

Other than that: Wario, to a lesser degree Mario, Yoshi also seems to have quite the belly (as does Birdo), Mr. EAD, classic Sonic and classic Amy, Big the Cat, Chunky, Donkey, and Kiddy Kong. Thinking about it, most characters from my favourite series are fat.

Obesity and being overweight is not a naturally desired human condition. It is also neither healthy nor attractive. This is 100% real talk. Anyone who says otherwise is either dishonest or fooling themselves into belief.

There is nobody on Earth that wakes up everyday and strives to be fat. There is nobody on Earth saying to themselves "You know, I wish my pant size was 50"

As a former obese guy I feel for overweight people and I understand the struggle of their everyday life.

Saying this, I think that fat acceptance and representation in games is a dangerous road to follow. People should be educated to follow an healthy lifestyle and, while not being too slim ( a bit of meat in a girl is a god blessing) , neither look at obese persons like an acceptable way of life

I was overweight as a child. It was absolutely terrible.

Besides the constant bullying from other kids, I suffered from a ton of chest problems and short breathing. I manage to turn things around when I was 18 and I've felt much more active ever since.

There are other people around me I wish I could give the same advice to, but because of PC and sensitive culture, I'm doomed to keep my mouth closed around them.

Because we all want to play as a healthy main character. Being "plus sized" and come on let's just admit it. "Plus Sized" is just a sugar coated term for being unhealthy and a fat. And I doubt anyone wants to play as an obese unhealthy hero/heroine when it's clearly obvious that the hero can't even walk up a flight of stairs let alone defeat the evil that will bring the end of everything in that universe/kingdom etc.

Don't give them any more ideas.
For one is not aesthetically pleasing, its not healthy and its not something good to promote

People shouldn't be pat in the back and be told its ok to be fat or worse yet congratulated on it.

In Metal Slug you can become obese and slow but with more firepower due to stronger recoil.

After eating vegetables and spending calories killing thousands, they get slim again

I remember there was a shooter on ps4/xboxone (or ps3?) which featured overly obese characters who were twerking, I almost puked watching the trailer lol

I can read sub-text.

[Offensive....
adjective

causing someone to feel resentful, upset, or annoyed.]

Fat people annoy him.
Real reason why Amy Hennig was fired confirmed!
No, you got it all backwards
He feels using fat Drake as a gag Easter egg is demeaning to fat people because its exists to be a joke.
With duckman partaking in activism with U4, its not surprising he wanted to avoid the making fun of fat people fabricated outrage.

Not that i agree with it, just explaining his thought process

they are GAMES, if someone cant play a game or watch a movie without thinking "omg I dont look like that :( character should look like ME", they are just selfish and have some issues.

Normal person just watches/plays it as escapism, "I watch this character/I play as this cool character, would be nice to be like that but it is just a game/movie, so who cares"

People with low self-esteem should stop asking to change anything because they are wrong and only them can be hurt by some 6-pack dude on tv

It's just a fat version of Mantis from Guardians of the Galaxy.

Now I'd love to get a better view of Sif from Daemon X Machina

Guess what... lean closer... I LIKE FAT CHICKS AND THINK THEY ARE SEXY. Now normally I'd ignore you but everything you said is wrong so I had to point it out.

Mostly fighting games? As sort of joke characters? I guess technically no fighter has a fat main character exactly, but they do seem to be represented in rosters.

Being overweight can be attractive. But then again I'm one of those crazy people who thinks if a show like The Biggest Loser has a cute fat girl she becomes less cute the further she advances in the game (the more she loses weight).

Also, there is nobody on Earth that wakes up everyday and strives to be a furry animal jumping on platforms - oh wait, scratch that, there absolutely are people who strive to be furries :O

I agree.
And this goes both ways. There's nothing wrong with having characters that are macho white Yankees or big-breasted sexy girls or fat slobs. If someone feels they can't play a game because it has some sexy lady or some guy with "toxic masculinity", I feel sorry for them taking video games way too seriously and personally, and the same goes to everyone who thinks thay can't play a game where the character is fat.

do we all really think this:

would sell better than this:

The fat girl has much cuter face, but the thin girl is probably way more marketable so in that sense you are 100% correct. The design of that thin girl is horrible though, like, that's one way to make a healthy girl look rather unattractive, but it's still probably more marketable.
