Which Actor Has Had The Best Career Ever?

'Best' being defined by whatever standards you choose and the term 'actor' including all sexes. Keep in mind that I don't mean who you think has the greatest ability, just the greatest career.

Considering breadth of work, success of films and overall likeablility, I think the best acting career (again not necessarily ability) would have to go to Samuel L. (MF'ing) Jackson. Honorable mentions would include Marlon Brando and Tom Cruise. Most of Tom Hanks movies are too safe imo.

Christopher Lee. He was THE MAN for 7 decades.

Toshiro Mifune never delivered a bad performance IMO.

On performances alone, Oscar Isaac for now. Patrick Wilson has also put in good work in a ton of diverse roles. Eva Green seems to enjoy everything she does also, even in terrible movies.

By sheer scope and time of career, yes.

Tom Hanks has had a pretty stellar career, and has managed for the most part to stay out of any public tmz like debacles. Also Kurt Russell

Ian Mckellen maybe ?
Gandalf, Magneto, Sherlock Holmes, Great Intelligence, Ingmar Bergman's Death and an armored polar bear ....

Hard to find a good standard to what defines "best career" =/

Tom Hanks is a great shout. Philidelphia, Forest Gump, Toy Story, Green Mile, & Saving Private Ryan, all in the space of 5/6 years...

Tom Hanks and Pacino would get my vote. Played some of the most memorable and iconic characters in film.

Adam Sandler gets to make the movies he wants and gets paid way more than he should for the crap fests he makes. Almost always has a hot chick in them for his characters. His movies probably are pretty cheap and quick to make, a lot of them filmed in nice locations (Hawaii, etc).

Seems like a pretty good career to me, despite the movies being terrible.

Samuel L Jackson definitely has the breadth of quality and performance that most would crave. As far as I know, he has the highest box office gross ever, too, at least will be once again once the new Avengers comes out since his other main competition is inherently limited in scope of his next blockbuster.
Harrison Ford
. As far as acting quality, he doesn't rank up with the greats, but few reach Daniel Day Lewis/Marlon Brando/Peter O'Toole status, so that is okay.

Jackie Chan, doing things no one else would do or will ever do, for the sake of entertaining people...

A true legend.

Daniel Day-Lewis, no doubt. The man has won Oscars in every year he has come back from his hiatus. He is so method, if he were cast as Batman, the man would actually fight crime for a year and cut off his parents to master the role. His methodology and his penchant for working with GOATs make him the actor with the best career.

Any AAA list celebrity that's been paid 10s of millions generally has had a pretty remarkable career.

It's kinda a requirement to get there in the first place.

As for actor/performer that's made the most from TV/Film media in general, that'd be Jerry Seinfeld.

I go with him as well. He's been in a million movies, and it's hard to imagine him being passed in box office gross in our lifetimes.

Dicaprio made some stellar choices in the movies he took part in.

Him and Kate Winslet in Revolutionary Road showed some major acting chops. Was seriously impressed when I saw it.

Isn't Larry David worth more?

Jai Courtney, having no talent whatsoever and still getting big roles. That is just incredible.

Probably Schwarzenegger.

He wanted to be a bodybuilder, so he went and did it.
He wanted to be an actor, so he went and did it.
He wanted to be a politician, so he went and did it.

Dude is just a string of "I want to go do this" and then fucking went out and did it.

Considering his still young age, almost flawless choice of movies and talent I go with diCaprio. He already played in more A+ movies than 99% of top Hollywood stars ever will and he will probably add a dozen more.

Runner up: De Niro.
