Which Racing game are you getting this year Gaf?

Probably [expensive] DLC tho

I figure with the cost of licensing, it will be a big chunk added, like FH1, but the vanilla game has already been shown off with its fully open world with hill climb events, unbounded point-to-point races, and the general freedom to race off the road (probably a benefit to off-road equipment and tuning). On top of that, there are already plenty of rally cars in the core set of cars. There seems to be an excellent chance of included rally events, basically. I haven't even played it and I think it's safe to say that this is easily the console racer of the year, IMO. As long as the rally DLC is part of the season pass, I'm down. Hell, I'll buy it even if it wasn't.

Definitely DRIVECLUB and Project Cars and a big maybe on The Crew, mostly I'm not happy about it being online only. If I knew there was an offline mode I'd get it day one.

Project Cars (PC)

DriveClub (maybe)
Forza Horizon 2 (maybe)

The last two depend on what else is releasing at the time.

I'm not a fan of sim racers, and the only open world racing games I've liked are Midnight Club.

So Driveclub it is!

Project Cars (PC)
The Crew (PC)
Forza Horizon 2 (360).
F1 2014 (PC) - "How did we leave this out"

Driveclub looks nice, but i don't own either of the new consoles. If I decide to invest in one of these next-gen consoles (probably not) I'll get FH2 on XBone

*sigh* sure would be nice if Microsoft could bring FH2 over to PC but that likely would never happen. Ah well.

Assetto Corsa which is out right now on PC is probably going to be the closest sim-like racer of this year IMO. Fantastic game and its half off on Steam right now for people who have possibly been on the fence about it.

Forza Horizon 2 and Driveclub !

But i think i will play Forza Horizon 2 a lot more simply because i have a couple of friends to play with and we're all pumped to get into the action. + The game looks incredible and fun !

Cannot wait !

Forza Horizon 2 on 360 for me. Maybe Xbox One if my brother borrows me his console if I buy the game.

Driveclub looks awesome but all those social features and dumb objectives (I just want to race) turned me off the game.

Driveclub and Forza Horizon 2 for sure. I'm not so convinced about The Crew and I want to see how is the physics of Project Cars

Driveclub for me and Forza Horizon for my son.

Driveclub will be my go to game cause all of my friends are on Ps4 and most of them will get it.

WHAT?!?

I payed 24.49€ for it few weeks ago on Steam as a "special discount", and I even don't have a damn PC!

It is not how you treat your loyal customers who will never even play your game because they even don't have hardware to play it Kunos!

Now I feel betrayed.

I will never buy a PC game that I can't even play over Steam again, never.

They promise me reduced price, I buy it to support them, and then they lower the price AGAIN. I DEMAND I refund!

Now I am real 8€ short from my imaginary 600€ PC. Damn you Kunos, you brought all this misery to me by yourself!

:p

How about those that supported them day 1  and were told the game would no go on sale before release ;)

I'm getting old but, 50% of of games that have not been officially released, no official release date either and later go to the shops for double that seem somewhat strange. But if that's what it takes to get niche games like this released at all, I will take it.

Bought Mariokart 8 and Forza 5 this year, so that's probably it.
Unless Sega wants to give me a present and release a collection of their arcade racing games!

Horizon 2 is one of my most anticipated games of the year.

I'll dick around with the PS+ version of DriveClub. Non-open world racers tend to bore me.

Forza Horizon 2. I hope this franchise gets the sales and new gamers it deserves. (judging by the quality of the last game at least.)

Horizon 2 and project cars should do me for the remainder of 2014. Maybe the crew if it's decent enough and can be gotten for a good deal.

Just Driveclub here. I haven't been able to get hype for driving sims in years. Just on a fundamental level, realistic physics in a videogame seems boring to me. Driveclub looks like a happy middeground between arcade and sim. Although I'd prefer a game just go all arcade like OutRun/Burnout/Ridge Racer/etc. But I have zero faith that those games are getting sequels, ever.

Had no idea these existed. Awesome.

I'll be getting Driveclub most likely, it seems like it's really come together quite well in the last few months. I've been less and less of a racing sim guy in recent years, however full arcade racers don't do it for me either unless they're Burnout. This seems like a nice mix, ala PGR. I may give The Crew a shot as well.

I'll be picking up Forza Horizon 2 on launch as the first one is probably my favorite racer of all time.

I was excited for The Crew but the more I see of it the more bland it looks. I'll wait for reviews for that one.

Day one digital
Forza Horizon 2 because I loved the first one and this looks eben better.

Day one retail
Driveclub because the game looks insane and I got it preordered for 20 €.

Not sure about The Crew. I want more impressions about the gameplay and the microtransactions.

Realised my dad's new car is in pCars, Driveclub and the Day One Edition of Horizon 2. He finds it exciting even though he's not a gamer lol.

Anyway, I'll be getting Project Cars (PC). Horizon 2 honestly makes me so tempted to buy an Xbox One. I have a thing for open world racers. Especially ones as beautiful and as full of content as Horizon 2... Makes me drool...

Does anyone else ever just look at #DRIVECLUB and accidentally scream "WHAT THE FACK?" out of high impact pleasure?

Spintires. This game looks like a fun time.

I would have got The Crew but it's a UPlay always online turd.

pCars probably won't run on my system.

DriveClub on PS4

Project Cars on PC

Didn't really like Forza Horizon 1 that much so I'm not touching the sequel.

If you have a PS4 you're getting #DRIVECLUB.
If you have a One you're getting Horizon 2.
If you have a PC you're probably getting Project Cars.
If you like to live life dangerously maybe you'll get The Crew.

I'm not interested in #DRIVECLUB though. Graphics aren't enough for me to be interested.

What about the tracks, then?
Racing narrow mountain roads is one of the things that gets me the most excited about this game.
This'll be a blast!

For sure, I'm getting DriveClub. This game is the reason I've bought a PS4 initially.
Thinking of getting Project Cars along with it, if the game is good enough on the PS4.

As a racing sim Project CARS is the most interesting to me at the moment, Drive Club looks good so I'll keep an eye on that one but it seems quite arcadey to me.
