Which Racing game are you getting this year Gaf?

My XBone is so starved for a decent game, ANY decent game, that I actually ordered a copy of Forza 5 from Amazon. I know that doesn't sound weird, but believe me it is. "Realistic" racing games are among the furthest away you can get from being my cup of tea, right up there with sports games. And even the racing franchises I do love, F-Zero, Mario Kart, Wipeout... MK8 is the first one I've played for more than a couple of hours in yeeeeaaaars. Anyway, when my "copy" of Forza arrived it was just a fucking code card, which was mentioned nowhere in the listing so I returned it and went back to waiting for Sunset Overdrive. I don't think there are any racing games on my horizon right now.

Just Driveclub for now. I'm gonna wait for the CV Rift before I get PCars on PC. I'm convinced it's the only way to play a sim now.

I love racing games but for some reason, I keep forgetting about Project Cars. Honestly, all of these games look great and I'll likely be buying all of them except for Driveclub, which will have to wait until I get a PS4 hopefully some time next year maybe. Forza horizon 2 is one of my most anticipated games of the year and I can not wait for it. Loved the first one and this looks like it'll be a blast with friends.

I also like how Forza and The Crew will let me roam Europe and the US respectively. Racing 'round the world baby!

DriveClub PS+, undecided on whether it's worth buying.

Other than that, maybe Gran Turismo 6 if it drops to $30 during Black Friday.

None because they're all sims :/

I need a new Excite Truck or F-Zero in my life.

They are trying to cater to both audiences, results vary. You wish the games in first post were more arcade, while I wish they were more simulator. Neither side completely happy, but mass audience in-between very happy.

Can't stand open world racers, I think they are garbage.

I'm most looking forward to Driveclub as the true PGR successor (hopefully PGR2) and I'll keep an eye out on Pcars.

Driveclub fo sho
Project Cars if it gets good reviews and can be a GT7 surrogate.

I already have Assetto Corsa, but Project CARS is my one true love.

I've already committed to never playing a racing sim on a regular monitor again. Project CARS in VR will affirm my decision.

THIS IS A FUCKING VIDEO GAME

I`m literally hypnotized by this gif it looks so freakin` real. Huayra yes?

Very maybe project cars, if there's a demo and I like the physics.

I fuckin love racing games but these guys made shift 2 which had awful gameplay.

Forza Horizon 2 is the only one I'm planning on getting at the moment, but I might get the others depending on what I hear. I don't have a PlayStation 4 yet, though, so Drive Club would have to wait a while either way.

Horizon and Driveclub for sure.
Project cars wait and see approach.
The Crew unlikely, hopefully I'll be in the beta.

ProjectCars (PS4).

Yeah, I'm willing to bet DriveClub looks better than PS4 Project Cars. That's what optimization, and a team of people who know how to work Sony hardware, will get you. Project Cars on PC though, that will be something special.

As a pc owner choices are unfortunately limited, but as a senior backer, I do get pCARS, not sure what version (yet ;) ). And reading the RIFT impressions, when the CV1 comes on the market day 1.

Would love to see FH2, DC less likely, on the PC and would have picked it up if :(

Ps: And you can also buy Assetto Corsa (Steam early access), not on the list, but I already own that one ;)

driveclub for sure

project cars looks good, but their track record with the shift series and the absolutely awful controls of those games puts me off quite a bit...the lag was just horrendous and inexcusable. i haven't read too many gameplay impressions of PC so maybe they've turned it around, but as of now im taking a wait and see approach.

Above GIF is the PC version, but lets not turn this in to a versus thread. Both games will look amazing.

Might have something to do with one being 30fps and one being 60fps.

I will get project cars and the crew for PC in the future but this year I will get Mario kart 8 when I buy my WiiU during the holidays.

Forza Horizon 2. The sequel to my favorite racing gaming most Gen, so I'm confident I'll enjoy the sequel. The Crew could be fun, bit I would buy without being able to try first. PCars looks outstanding, and I love the frame rate, but not sure if a sim is for me.

AHAHA, WAT. You're joking right? You already did that by posting them together in the fashion that you did and then you go and say that it already is the PC version in your OP.

OT: Forza Horizon 2. No PS4 till next year for me, will play DriveClub then and see which of GAF is still playing it.

Well I've got Mario Kart 8 and that's pretty damn awesome. I haven't really played many racing games since I was a teenager. Kind of like sports games.

Ironically enough I'm getting back into some sports games sorta so maybe I will try out one of these new ones, hmm. Coming full circle on my gaming hobby it seems.

Though if I'm going to do it, I'll probably wait for the whole VR thing mentioned in earlier posts. Now that would be tight.

Forza Horizon 2 on Day One. I will give Project Cars a look because I like the Shift games, but I'm not wild about what they are doing there. I doubt I will pay full price for it.

Google GIF search ProjectCars, there aren't many GIF's that come up. That was one of the better looking of the very few direct feed gameplay GIF's that did.

Shame that Shift has given them such a poor reputation. People seem to forget (or possibly don't realise) that before they were Slightly Mad, they made a certain game called GTR2. While Simbin would rather they didn't mention it, there are plenty of developers working on Project CARS who have GTR, GT Legends and GTR2 on their CV. In some ways, Project CARS is like the GTR3 Simbin never made. It bares no resemblance to the Shift series at this stage.

Drive Club probally will get a bite from me.... it just depends if I get ride of PS4 before then. PC gamer and nothing this year screams must keep console for to me (DO NOT SAY BLOODBORNE... not my type of game to want to play) Heck Xbone has a better offering for PC gamers with its list of excusives (or the Wii U which by far if your a PC gamer is the best chose. Smash bros and Bayo 2 ...

I have Driveclub preordered. I Might recommend Project Cars for friends who have a PS4 and Xbone, that way I can get to try that game too.
