Which war would you have proudly fought (and possibly died) in?

Had I been alive during the American civil war, I'd probably enlist to carry the stars and stripes into battle. Well, figuratively speaking, I don't think I'd want to actually be a flag carrier.

I would never fight in any war. I find the whole thing asinine. If there is another war of any kind where there is a mandatory draft, I'm going into hiding

The forces of Chaos would basically have to be spitting out of the Eye of Terror for another Black Crusade before I even considered it, and only then because you know you're going to die no matter what you do so you might as well die for the Empruh.

There's no realistically-scaled conflict I can imagine worth giving my life over.

Texas Revolution, specifically the Battle of San Jacinto. Mexico got rekt. Also, Santa Anna was a fucking asshole.

Also, WWII and American Revolution.

I'm sticking with wars in my own family's history, but there are several others I would consider.

ww2, korean war, american revolutionary war, civil war as the north, Afghanistan war, bosnian war as part of nato...

there are plenty of wars worth dying for. i'm pretty sure if the new nazi party of 2025 started rounding up millions of gamers and gassing people because they were smuggling in the banned smash hit "The Last of Us Part 7: Ellie does Dallas" as they took over Europe, the UK and started carpet bombing New York City, responses would be different.

but doesn't effect me, don't care.

Surprised at the people saying no war.

I'm generally anti war too but I honestly feel if I died fighting a force like the Nazis it would at least mean something and be worth it.

Easy to say from the comfort of my 1st world house but I feel like I'd gladly lay my life on the line to fight a genocidal maniac like hitler. Maybe I'd bottle it if it actually happened I guess.

I'd fight proudly in any war/conflict that the U.S is involved in. If I had to chose though, I'd say the Revolutionary war. To be a part of bringing up the greatest country on the face of the earth would be amazing.

today, knowing the effects of PTSD and the lessening of government support for retired veterans after serving. Fuck NO

In Canada, our crappy Conservative fake government who pretends to support the troops actually cut funding to services to veterans. Lots of stories of red tape, and it being more difficult to seek help have been propping up post-Afghanistan .

In the US, lol. We have heard thousands of stories of veterans returning from past wars, especially Viet-Nam and ending up homeless without any support and suffering from PTSD and other disorders afterwards.

want me to fight for my country? okay, will my country fight for me when I return? Fuck You

WW2 Pacific Front. Dont be fooled by anime avatar...

I would prolly be killed on like the first beach landing.

Yeah, European theater of WW2 is basically the only unambiguous answer. One side had Nazis.

Pacific was nasty though. Two cultures that didn't (want to) understand each other treating each other as savages.

Whatever war my Queen orders me to fight

Nazis were clear bad guys. The allied forces weren't saints but Nazis were the by far greatest evil known at the time (I suppose you can argue about Stalin being equal or greater retrospectively).
sure. Just understand those standard German grunts youre so eagar to kill probably don't give two shits about the National Socialist Party, were at best fighting for family/national pride if not against their will and probably didn't understand the full extent concerning the atrocities their government committed against the Jews, Romani and POWs. The average German citizen was very much a victim of the Nazi regime too

Now killing Hitler and the inner circle of murderous thugs he surrounded himself with? Sure, but good luck. People within this own party tried numerous times to assassinate that fuck without success.

To answer the question, none. This romanticizing warfare shit is so 1913

Being Vietnamese, had I lived back then, I would have gladly fought in the French War, and the American War that came afterwards.

We won both anyway.

The Crystal War

In all seriousness, I'm a coward and my mental issues would inhibit me from being any use to a unit. My presence would cause more harm than good and I would only serve as a liability to my fellow countrymen.

None. Even if I were suicidal I could think of more pleasant ways of dying than out on a battlefield. I doubt I'd ever be proud or excited to go to war.
