White Knight Story official site opens! (NOW WITH HOLY CRAP VIDEO)

I'm slowly coming around to this but there are two things that dirks me here. The character art, I hate it, egg headed folks. I wish they used the more angled manga art seen in Jeanne D'Arc. Also, as some other posters here suspect, I bet invisible walls aren't far away.

But it seems so smooth and beautiful and having an online side of things makes it really interesting. I'm kinda divided.

God, percentages is such a meaningless way to determine production. Does this mean it will take 10 years to build the game? Ugh.

10% complete... :lol :lol :lol
Hope they didnt bs the video shown at TGS. :/

On a serious note, 10% has been known and discussed since 20 pages back on this thread. It said 10% back at TGS :p

Also some developers are very conservative about their percentage numbers. For a lot of developers just getting a 3D engine up and running counts as 30-50%. I wouldn't doubt the WKS vid. L5 isn't known for any kind of tricks.

Like I said earlier in the thread, White Knight Story will be Dec, 2007 in Japan. I'd bet my hat on it. US release judging by other L5 games is probably closer to mid-2008.

Well I hope... Even though what has been shown doesnt really seem out of this world.

Yeah right! They played the BIGGEST trick on me with thier TFLO game! They show it off and then get it canceled. That was a cruel trick. never forget :-(

Anyway, this game animates beautifully.

And even i am moderately surprised

I'm sure there isn't anything to doubt about the outcome of the game but ... as mentioned - TFLO was apparently 95% complete at TGS , was playable 'over internet'...

then it's canned because the netcode was a shambles :/

Things happen, things get delayed , situations change - the whole "we're 10% etc done" thing , given the usual state of video game project planning, is probably best ignored no matter who is saying it!

since 20 pages back on this thread. It said 10% back at TGS

most people at TGS didn't see it at TGS it would seem - Can you fill the blanks - did it say "10% complete" at the end or something?

The 10% comes from the Famitsu article. They always have a random general estimate bar at the end of every preview. :D

Man that Dengeki article has some awesome art. Saving it all to disk! :D

Sooo excited about this game. I personally loved Dark Cloud 2, DQVIII and Rogue Galaxy so this is naturally a no brainer for me.

Already posted? SCE has just distributed the lastest batch of media to the game publications. Half of them are screens from the trailer, but many new illustrations of locales, enemies and other inhabitants.

Oh, now the lava city/boss and treant are totally making me excitement.

Good god the art rocks. I also really like the character art, which is IMO better than a lot of the stuff Square-enix pushes out nowadays.

Characters are simple, but visually pleasing. Environments are pretty standard medieval fantasy stuff (humongous city turtle aside).

The monsters though... Gorgeous. Lovely. Brilliant. Wonderful.

*goes to find a thesaurus*

Piquant. Gustable. Marvelous. Astounding. Beautiful. Stunning.

Awesome.

I don't know who is behind the character artworks, but it really reminds me of valkyrie profile ones, in style though. The faces are more anime-esque but the clothes share the style to me.

And all the SotC scent rocks.

I'm not usually one to drool over concept art, at least not pre-release, but this is good stuff. If they can come at least close to turning these concepts into game assets, then this game will at the very least be an artistic treat.
