Nintendo is the correct answer.

MS is next.

Sony is now in last place. Too much of the same shit. The Last Uncharted God of Us of War is so boring and repetitive now. Watch them on YouTube and you won't miss anything. There's no gameplay. And Forza and Mario Kart both trump Tourismo.

I love how there's multiple threads discuss how ms might have the best first party now with the recent acquisition.

Let's look at fallout 4 crap and universally panned. 76 again panned.
We've seen nothing of star field but we know it's using the same garbage engine.

Only good thing they've got going is doom.
So is their recent out put (fallout 4, 76 and doom) better than Sony or Nintendo's First party? The answer is no.

See, I get comparing TLOU to uncharted, because they're the same studio and obviously very similar, but the similarities between the two and GOW are barely superficial, and far more to do with storytelling than gameplay, which is significantly different.

Also at least with GOW, the gameplay was bloody amazing. Once you get enough options unlocked, the combat in the game is rich, deep and complicated, culminating in the Valkyrie Queen battle that is easily up there with the best From Software have put out.

Also you do know Sony make loads of very diverse games, not just big, third person, narrative driven AAA titles right?

Astro Bot alone is up there with the very best Nintendo put out, and is pretty much pure gameplay.

Nintendo for me. They focus on gameplay not "the experience".

Imagine if you could get the games from one of those lists for $15 a month or less. That's the BIG difference. The cost matters. Even so, MS's list is the best, but the fact that I have Game Pass paid off until 2023 makes it an easy win.

It all depends how Microsoft treat the PC side of things for me with their new Bethesda IP's, i don't want them locked to their store with no modding supported, so i chose MS but i'm wary of how much control they will assert on the PC version's like they do with Xbox games.

lately they release everything on steam

Even I primarily play on PS, Nintendo by a good mile.

Hm, I can acknowledge that Nitendo Games are well craftet and Fun games, but somehow they rarely click with me. Never finished Mario Odysse, BotW and Luigis Mansion. They alle are perfectly fine games, but I think I've gotten bored with the moment to moment gameplay.

On the other Hand I've finished most of the Sony games and even Platinumed them...so my pick would be Sony.

For Microsoft Games I came to late to the party I'm afraid. When I had the chance to play Gears and Halo, they we're pretty old at that time and I never could get into them. I played Gears 4 and 5 but it felt like a drag to me...to much bullet-sponge enemies...

MS = variety. They cover pretty much entire spectrum of genres now, and for all age groups. Frankly that used to be Sony's trait during PSX/PS2/PS3 years, but since mid-PS4 lifespan they have become pretty much a one-trick pony. Same for Nintendo, platformers are their main domain, not to mention all their games target the youngest audience.

1. Nintendo, though my last console was the SNEs
2. Sony, good quality, innovation and lots of experience
3. Microsoft, stronger now on paper, in reality nothing has changed yet

I don't know about now but in 2-3 years once next-gen games start to drop it might be Microsoft. The variety will be crazy. First person shooters, third person action adventure games, RPGs (first person / isometric), tactical games, strategy games, racing games (arcade / simulation), survival games, online only games...

Games, games, games.

Before it was Nintendo no doubt. No it becomes a toss-up between Nintendo and Microsoft.
The people who vote Sony are just lying to themselves, tho.

i often say i prefer third party over exclusives when it comes to ms/sony
some of them are now MS exclusives but nintendo is still in doing their own thing and something you can't really have anywhere else or with third party.
so Nintendo for me
I play mostly third-party games, Gears, Halo, Horizon and Ratchet just don't do it for me and Nintendo just ain't my thing.

I'm a very big fan of Machine Games, Id and Arkane though, so the exclusives equation favours Xbox heavily now (at least for me). Third-party games still make up the vast majority of games but given that Series X is likely to be the best place to play those as well makes today's announcement cream on the cake.

As far as First Person Shooters go, Microsoft (remember they also essentially have a team composed of MegaGames vets around to keep pumping out Gears of War - which mean's they have a portion of Epic Games working on the team) own's the market.

As far as FPS Mascot's go they also own the market. As far as IP's targeting MATURE audience's, they've seemingly won there as well.

And if each one of their now 22 studios comes up with an IP as big as Halo/Fable/Doom/Fallout/Skyrim/Dishonered/Quake/ect then they have essentially won the IP war.

Are you trolling? Can give it shot as well?

The same 3rd person cinematic experiences from PlayStation year after year.

I don't care who has the best, as long as they're all competitive. No competition is bad for our hobby, regardless of what box you're fighting for.

Xbox has been weak as shit for first party this gen - we all know that. ZeniMax acquisition helps even the field a bit.

Don't understand how a studio acquisition automatically supposed to unseat Nintendo and Sony as having the best exclusives.

The gaming public has spoken and done so for years. The best exclusives have always been with Nintendo and Sony. The sales charts show that.

Any one sane individual will wait until MS show's off their first party offerings and then rate accordingly. So far we have Craig lol. You aint gettin' anywhere with Craig.

It's just wishful thinking by Xbox fanboys. Maybe if MS buys themselves 10 more big studios they are on the same level first party wise. And I guess they probably will do that.

Sony still has the best if you're a more casual gamer.

Nintendo has the best if you're a small child or have small children.

Microsoft has the best if you're a core gamer who cares about creativity/Innovation.

Damn, show pics of third person games and completely ignore the actual content of those games and their gameplay? You're so right, they're all the same!

Just like:

They are all good now tbh, there is not a clear winner.

If we talk about personal tastes then

Sony
M (if we consider the new acquisitions)
Nintendo

Microsoft still has to prove it. They have the potential now, but Sony and Nintendo have been putting out good shit consistently for decades.

Sony >>> Nintendo >>>>>> xbox

Until now MS 1st party have been 90% shit

Gears = boring repetitive shit
Forza = boring driving shit
Halo = craig
Fable = ok

Nintendo:
Copy&paste mario/luigi shit
Zelda is ok, but cant carry them
Childish boring games

Sony:
Best games for my taste

After bethesda and if they become exclusives

Sony >>> xbox >>> nintendo

Sony better than Nintendo?

Is it surprise?

Not all like childish repetitive games with almost zero story and/or platformers.

Objectively nintendo games are just boring money making machine, they know that same mario kart, pokemon and whatever sells with minor changes.

Selling millions doesnt mean they are good quality games universally.

Otherwise mobile games would be best games ever created

I still think Nintendo from an objective point of view:

Their first party games sell incredibly well, better than any of the other companies first party games.

Their first party games don't just sell well they are also well received by critics.

Their franchises have been going for longer than any of the other companies and are arguably 'timeless'.

They are the only company that seem capable of selling hardware based on the strength of their first party titles alone. Their games are literally 'system sellers'.

Personal taste may lean more towards Sony or MS but objectively Nintendo are still king.

For me nothing changed. I never cared about Bethesda's titles and i still haven't seen anything from MS's studios to even consider comparing them with Sony or Nintendo. At least for now. Hopefully when they start releasing their new IPs then we'll talk again.

For me Sony still remains king of exclusives and that is by a large margin. They have the most diverse library of first party titles and 3rd party collaborations by far. If you include the amount of mid-tier/smaller more niche 3rd party Japanese games that are also Playstation (and sometimes also Nintendo) console exclusives it's not even a contest.

Sony>Nintendo>>>>>Microsoft

When people talk about new MS studios acquisitions, they add the games these studios developed in the past. We have no idea what focus these studios will have under Microsoft.

MS has some history with Rare and Ninja theory - we'll see.

As for now :

1. Nintendo (they are just on another level of quality and variety even if it's not immediately noticeable for people who don't own Nintendo console)
2. Sony
3. Microsoft
