Who is buying an XBOX ONE Day One?

If games are $20, services aren't behind paywalls, and the non subscription version is $299 I'll buy it.
I would probably also buy one if all these conditions are true. I think that the big expensive deal with the NFL makes it somewhat unlikely, though.

Possibly not, I don't have the time/money to buy all the consoles again so I have to be a bit more picky this time round.
That said, it's down to E3. I've always found Microsoft's exclusives to be more compelling, so "wow" me and I'll jump in, otherwise probably PS4.

I'm not but I could be swayed at E3. I'm not sold on either next gen console at this point.

Don't think I'll be doing either day one. Hell, I may even wait until the first hardware revision. Depends on how E3 turns out at this point.

I will same as the PS4. The only thing is I thought I would get one for myself and one for my oldest son and one PS4 for the main media room. Now it's looking like one XBOX One for the main media room.

I might have considered getting one early on if it weren't for the disk-account tying and lack of any form of backwards-compatibility. I don't want to have to jump through hoops just to play a game that I bought at a friend's place. At a LAN, having to download accounts to each Xbox is just a massive pain in the ass waiting to happen.

I would be way more fine with the whole account-binding thing if it was only enforced once you opted to install it to hard drive to be able to play without a disk, allowing you play the game prior without issue. Installing to disk could have prompted a warning saying that proceeding would bind the game to your account.

However, the way things are now, with the prospect of being forced to tie a game to my account? My indifferent leaning toward possibly getting one for the next Halo games has been turned into a lost sale. I hope Microsoft is punished hard because of this. Sure, I accept a similar system with Steam, but I also wouldn't take PC games around to a friend's place to play on his computer. If I were going to play PC games out of the house, they would either be his, or my computer would be there as part of a LAN. Being able to easily take a game to a friend's place was one of the last benefits of having a console left to me.

E3 isn't for a couple of weeks, so as a gamer (not a fanboy), I don't know yet.

I think it will be as simple as logging into Facebook on another computer. Remember, Kinect is going to be with every system. It will be able to recognize and log you in in no time. It will not be like 360s recovering account system. No way.

I already have one underpowered VG console, why do I want another?

So when are you buying a PC?

Have to say the switching was very slick, but TV content and Kinect really are not for me. Too much emphasis in that area for my liking.

Yes im not liking the share features of PS4 either, but the gamer in me knows the better platform so far.

Maybe E3 will change things. But as it stands, no, not this time.

I'm not even committed to buying a PS4 day one and I know even less of the Xbox One, how could anyone make that kind of decision?

*SIGH*

How are all the day 1's here feeling on PS4 considering what we have seen in terms of games is much better right now than on Xbone.

Right now, not even close and why would I want one with what I know as of today?

Let me put it this way.

I probably won't buy a next gen system at launch, but if I was told I could buy either the PS4 or the Xbox One at launch but not both, I would get the PS4 no question.

Looking at my 360 library the only games that I bought that stayed exclusive until now are Shadow Complex, Halo, Banjo and Gears. Steam is the new XBLA, 343i is definitely not Bungie and Epic seems to have no interest in being a game company anymore. This and the DRM bullshit means I'm currently not getting an XBONE at all.

Maybe if they announce some non shootbang mature gorefest titles I'll start to care again. But MS and risky go together as good as water and oil.

I have yet to see a reason to buy a Xbox One on day thousand let alone on day one.

Maybe a reason will present itself. We will see.

If it has great games, yes.

I subscribe to cable, already used to online activation with Steam, have a stable internet connection and don't trade in games since I keep everything to have a large game library. To me, the positives outweigh the negatives.

Yup. Much as the reveal was awful, I can't resist new hardware on day one. Forza 5 will be enough for me at launch, although I'll also be buying a PS4 and my hype for it is infinitely higher.

I will.

I have had no regrets but lots of fun with the original Xbox; the Xbox 360 and I expect they will certainly continue to improve with the Xbox One.

Forza 5 is the only game I care about.
But, the confusion surrounding whether steering wheels not working on the new Xbox is the deciding factor. If it isn't compatible, then MS can shove their box where the sun don't shine...
