Who is buying an XBOX ONE Day One?

I will probably, yeah.

The event yesterday didn't really bother me beyond not showing the 15 promised games and 8 new IPs. Everything else I thought was fine.

Would not buy a system day one unless it had at least 1 game I 'REALLY' wanted, and not just 'kinda' wanted. If I wait on the games I only 'kinda' want, then I can get the system cheaper down the line, and those games may be bargain bin price too.

It's silly to buy something just for hardware, especially when no BC.

I think it will be as simple as logging into Facebook on another computer. Remember, Kinect is going to be with every system. It will be able to recognize and log you in in no time. It will not be like 360s recovering account system. No way.
That remains to be seen. It wouldn't recognise you if you don't already have an account on that Xbox, unless they have an Orwellian ID database somewhere. If they can prove that logging into your account to play games at a friend's place is something easily doable, I may consider it. Until that's proven though, it's a deal breaker.

I was going to sit it out with my PC for as long as possible but the total clusterfuck of the xbone has got me thinking the ps4 will dominate and will be worth getting from the start.

It's way too early to decide on a D1 purchase. They haven't even begun to talk about software. Sony is still holding onto a lot of their cards, too.

Forza is the only game they're offering? I guess they'll show up to E3 and just stand there.

OK, well, to be fair, they did say they have eight new franchises for us. They may well be eight different Kinect titles, though. Now that they have their new super-duper Kinect, you better bet your arse most, if not everything, they reveal will have something to do with it.

I don't understand how someone can justify buying a console just for Forza.

same reason why someone would buy a Wii U just for Bayonetta 2. A fan is a fan

heck, I bought a Xbox 1 just for Jet Set Radio Future then Panzer Dragoon Orta... then it initiated me to other stuff later like LOL Halo and Halo 2

Won't support a console with Online DRM. Will probably never buy a Xbone at this point.
And if the new games they reveal at E3 are 'more of the same' from MS then they'll do nothing to change my mind.

Or it could be games that have nothing to do with Kinect at all. We don't know. We will at E3.

But Rare does not have those people who made Rare games amazing. Almost all the important people went away from Rare.... Instead of Rare games they made a tons of Kinect games.

DRM issues aside though, I still am just not pulled in by this system. I don't watch TV anymore, how many people really do? I just watch the shows I enjoy online. If I want suggestions on what to watch, I'll follow what's popular online. If I want to know what my friends are watching, I'll ask them through old-fashioned conversation. I don't like realistic racing games (Blur is fun, Mario Kart can never go wrong). Sports games are the most boring genre on the planet to me unless I am with a friend who is really into them. I don't need the new console to watch the Halo TV series and I sure as hell could not care less about the Call of Duty franchise any more. This console is the ultimate manifestation of a company wanting to penetrate the mainstream so badly that they forgot that there's a market of people who just want to play games who just want something for them.

Who on earth is going to get an Xbox if they aren't into games really, as much as Microsoft wants to market the thing as an all-round media centre? You can get entertainment hubs that are way cheaper because you don't need remotely as expensive hardware to run something that specialises in being a nice-looking interface, recording software and a web browser. For a non-gaming mainstream consumer, getting an Xbox to watch things would be like buying a gaming laptop to surf facebook. This strategy marginalises a huge chunk of the traditional Xbox consumer base and is just not going to be able to compete with what's already on the market in the eyes of the people Microsoft are trying to pick up.

It would need to have at least 2 exclusive launch titles that I want. The 'later this year' launch window would also need to be far removed from fall titles on other consoles that I'm interested in (e.g. GTA5, Batman AO, Beyond).

The last time I bought a console at launch was... umm... never.

So unless I'm thoroughly impressed by their E3 showing, and they confirm a number of worthwhile launch titles, this aint even an option.

How is anyone buying day one coming to that desicion after seeing the reveal? Honest question.

I prefer how MS consoles operate and Xbox One looks to continue that, the 360 eco-system worked better than the PS3. I also prefer MS exclusives, so will be looking forward to seeing what they show at E3.I wasn't overly impressed by what I saw last night (got bored after 30 minutes), but I can see what they're trying to achieve and it excites me.

Sony just happened to reveal PS4 with the 2 Sony franchises I dislike; Killzone and Infamous. Knack looks cool, but not enough to buy a console at launch for and the Gaikai stuff doesn't really interest me.

I have both the 360 and PS3 this gen and I'll own both upcoming consoles eventually, but Xbox One is more attractive to me right now, so I'll get that at launch.

The only way they could convince me right now is if they announced a new F-ZERO, a new Tactics Ogre and Valkyria Chronicles 4. Seriously.

No way. I was hoping the One could upstage Sony by offering BC with the 360 so that I could pick it up and maybe try some of those 360 Exclusives. After the reveal and the anti-consumer deal? Absolutely no way now.

Another premature topic. Not enough details. We don't know if this is the second coming of Xi or if we're going to be xbone'd.
