So, if I'm reading this correctly, you guys choosing Hef are willing to sacrifice a near immortal legacy to fuck a lot of loose women over 80 years? No judgement, I just want to make sure you know what you're saying and why.

Edit- I don't mean women over 80 years old. I meant his lifetime. lol...

Who gives a fuck what people will think? I'll be dead.

And, its not like Heff won't leave a legacy. I mean, fine, he didn't create spiderman, but he had his part to play in the sexual revolution.

Stan Lee he's cool likeable guy. Hefner is only interesting not because of himself but due of the girls around him. Seriously you've got to get a bit bored after so many women.

The pen is mightier than the pork sword.

are you seriously?

fuck nothing but finest women all day everyday, all year every year, for the better part of my ENTIRE life vs a bunch of virgin nerds swooning over comic books I created?????

I reckon Stan gets more than enough tail for me, while having a far more appealing legacy, fanbase and social calendar.

Not to mention pride. I could never be proud to say "I created a pornographic magazine line and banged a lot of chicks." But to be the creator of Spider-Man alone would be incredible. That's something I could brag about with a big smile on my face.

Fair enough. I'm more into leaving a lasting mark on this planet rather than a wet spot in my underoos. Might have something to do with age.

My answer is below

I agree there's an argument to be made for young Hugh vs. young Stan. Hugh for damn sure.

I'm asking which one would you rather be on your deathbed? You can't fuck on your deathbed. I'm sure you could try, but I think I would find more peace knowing I accomplished bringing an entire art form to the forefront of public consciousness.

I know, so did Hugh. Sigh.

Hefner easily. Although my choice in women in my later years would be vastly different than his blonde clones.

Kano, pick up the phone. It's me. Aguirre was making a sarcastic joke. I'm sure he/she meant no offense. Let's keep it frosty, yeah?

Bill Gates or Hugh Hefner?

I would pick albeit with some difficulty, Bill Gates.

Also Switters what about Bill Gates or Stan Lee?

are you really trying to say creating a whole empire, starting a whole sexual revolution is a lesser compared to cocreating comic characters? well, thats you then

speaking broadly, Marvel built it's reputation based on the characters lee created (and co-created) as well as the stories he wrote. Without Lee, there would likely be no marvel as we know it- and Marvel is a hell of an empire. Avengers alone made more profit in a year at the box office than Playboy enterprises as a whole has made in what...twenty years?

Playboy had a part to play in the sexual revolution, marvel had a part to play in shaping millions of minds as they grew up. Even those of us who aren't into comics at all. TV, costumes, movies, toys, novels, games..this stuff is inescapable.

But when speaking of who you'd rather BE- I see lee doing what he loved, and being respected for it. It's no secret he always really wanted to be an actor, but just didn't have the chops for it. But out of respect for his legacy, marvel always seems to find a cameo spot for him in each new movie and the fans eat it up. There's no question the guy is doing well.

Hefner on the other hand seems to be clinging to an outdated image and a decaying legacy. showing up on talk shows with a plastic blonde on his arm at 85 fools no one. at some point you have to learn to age gracefully and let the fantasy stay that- instead we're seeing the depressing side of something most of us considered a fantasy in our teen years. It's...not a way I'd like to end up in my 80s, no matter how many women he has.

No question, Stan Lee. I'd rather be a man idolized and praised for his creativity and spirit than a creepy old man who is know for pornography and banging very young women. I am not against porn, I just don't want to be its figurehead.

Stan the Man.

Nerd girls are my thing, so I'd rather be Stan Lee. Although I probably would have made a few different choices.

I couldn't handle a bunch of people much older than teenagers telling me about how cool the superheroes I invented are and how much they changed their lives. The only thing worse than creating a good thing and nobody noticing is to have it noticed and then twisted into something bad, or in this case, sad. Stan Lee's all over it, but I could never be in his shoes with a straight face. It's like being a member of the Wiggles. Awesome now, especially when a 6 year old comes up to me with bright eyes, until 30 years later when people in their 40's are still obsessing over the stuff (who might even have a name for themselves)...then it would make me do a complete 180 on my life. I would feel like Brian from Life of Brian.

And yeah, Hef's more than just an old guy having sex and parties. Fifty years ago, he was relevant in actual, meaningful things like women's rights, women's sexual revolution. He actually helped others. That's stuff nobody can take from you and can't blow out of proportion. Well, never say never when it comes to our culture, but people aren't...apparently, most don't even know that, so, that's good enough. Matter of fact, that's exactly where I'd like to be: did something great and wasn't constantly praised for it. this is the exact opposite of stan lee, who did some fun creative things and then was showered with praise for it at a completely overblown proportion. And hugh is no different in people's minds, because he's famous now for who he has sex with more than anything, which is almost as sad.

In other words, I guess, I wouldn't want to be famous these days. The pop in pop culture has become too dumb for participation. At least as Hugh I know in my heart I did more than just amuse man children, even if that becomes secondary to everybody else interest in my sex life.

In terms of personality, I couldn't decide between the two. I would love to meet them both.

so..you're saying the only way to enjoy a marvel property is to "obsess" over it, and be a "man-child?"

This stuff has been mainstream for at least 20 years. I saw avengers in the theatre with my parents (who are pushing 65), my fiancee (who's 29), and my nephew (who's 13). All of them appreciated it on different levels. And i could probably say the same for a good number of the Xmen films, spiderman, etc. They're no different from any other mainstream science fiction property at this point.

put the haterade down.

The most vocal are usually how a group is labeled, it's always been that way.

true, but on this forum (of all places) he should know better. Try going into the gaming side and making a "this hobby is for man children!" topic, and see how well it goes over.

And these days, the vocal fans he's referencing (I'd assume the sterotypical 30 year old living in his mother's basement, picking up his weekly comics only to nitpick them to death) are a minority. Most fans these days are introduced through the movies and don't really have an age bracket.

jon bones

hot hot hanuman-on-man action
dating seven girls at the same time?

having to deal with the worst of the comic book fans?

both sound miserable

i'm good being jon

EDIT: In a lot of ways I couldn't imagine being Stan Lee. The guy's imprint was plastered all over my childhood - and it's only bigger nowadays. Hard to take that out of the equation and imagine re-living life differently.

As Hef you're also forced to live the playboy lifestyle. If you ever want to settle down, that's not happening

I'm not even into comics much but I'll pick Stan Lee over Hef. Stan Lee creates something new. Hef was just purveying to the prurient instinct. That lacks creativity does not warrant much respect.

Stan Lee because I'm afraid of the vagina monster.

Plus, he made cultural touchstones with characters and allegories (like what the X-Men stand for) and entertained the realm of possibilities with super powers that will last for many, many decades past our own lives.

Aww shit, I'm gonna really miss him when he passes. :'(
