Who's life would you rather? Stan Lee vs. Hugh Hefner

I would reckon that Stan isn't or wasn't some forever alone nerd. Im sure dude got his share of tail back in the day....

So its not like you are choosing from "Get laid errrday!" versus good ol' celibate "Father Lee down at the chapel". So I would choose Stan Lee. Be proud of my life's work and accomplishments and be fairly well off financially.

You're either generating a nerdgasm or an orgasm. I'm not sure that there is really a whole lot of difference at the end of the day.

Playboy was very important during the sexual revolution and has vastly improved the way people around the world become sexual as opposed to feeling oppressed by society. That was incredibly important to America growing up.

Marvel inspired many people at an early age and spurred on wild imagination and creativity. That was very important to America growing up to.

I don't see any one being more important than the other as both had very positive cultural aspects. At the end of the day, however, I wouldn't want to be either. I'd more likely to want to be Elon Musk - a true visionary from the technology perspective. Failing that, I'd probably just flip a coin.

That, and Lee (and marvel in general) were VERY vocal re: anti-bigotry, and pro civil rights during that era (look at any of the early Xmen or black panther stuff), and fought government regulations to allow positive anti-drug commentary.

Stan worked pretty damn hard when he was creating, and he got his fair share of getting jerked around by the comic industry. It's not like his life has been all praise and autograph shows.
I can see Hef's life being much easier and mostly a life of leisure.

That's a little *ahem* naive. The internet is full of free digitized comics. Sad but true and the industry has taken a hit because of it. As a future publisher myself, I find this worrisome.

Stan Lee: Married for ~65 years and counting. Presumably only 1 partner in that entire time.
Hugh Hefner: Married twice for ~32 years total, currently divorced. Presumably only 1 partner that is incredibly hot at any one time, but honestly, probably had a good handful

That's about as opposite as you can get, dating-wise.

Hefner is a sugar daddy to multiple "wives" at any one time. He gets all hopped up on viagra and has orgies with women who find him disgusting but act like they love him because they get paid a salary to do so. Some that got out of it have gone on record how disgusting and depraved Hef is.

For me happiness and meaning go hand in hand. I could sleep with Playmates until I got bored, give some of my millions to a couple of charities to feel better about myself and help others and then play some xbox until I felt like more sex :)

This is such a slanted poll. It's like asking if you'd rather be George Clooney or Rush Limbaugh. A real catch 22 poll should be if you'd rather be Stan Lee or a paralyzed Larry Flynt. Then you could make some pro vs. con comparisons. But to answer the poll in its present form: Hef all the way.
