I'd love to see Lori and Corey Cole make that samurai version of QFG that they hinted at back in the early 90's... but being that QFG is my favorite of all the Sierra adventure games... yeah... a QFG6 would be great. :p


hell, I'd settle for just a QFG4 remake with new hand-drawn backgrounds and character profiles. Wasn't a fan of the CG/polygon stuff from QFG5.

If they remake 4 they'll need to include a digital digital manual for the professors potions lol.

Shit though if they don't announce new games, Sierra remakes on par with the Monkey Island remakes would be incredible. Would have been hard to imagine 6 months ago that we'd be seeing a remake of Grim Fandango and the revival of Sierra out of nowhere like this.

Sierra was my first entry into gaming, I spent all my allowance on their games and every birthday and X-mas gift was a Sierra game at one point.

I really hope they don't bother making new games. The current state of the gaming market has no place for the Sierra of old sadly. That hideous King's Quest - Mask of Eternity was a nice indicator and that failed(not surprisingly).

I wouldn't mind if they just port the game to iOS so I can enjoy them again on my iPad. Jane Jensen is remaking GK1 as well which I am looking forward to.

Bingo.

I really loved how (with the Monkey Island 1 and 2 remakes) you could switch between classic and remake with a single button press. Really neat idea and an easy solution for those that want to get all nostalgic by playing the original, yet still have access to the new art.

It'd be cool to see them bring back the Sierra name for publishing budget digital titles, since the Activision name is basically synonymous with "that company that forces out yearly releases of AAA titles".

Full remakes of all the Quest games for like, $5 each would be cool.

The Coles are busy with their Hero-U kickstarter project, so while I'd love to see them return to QfG I don't think they'd be working on that right now.

I'm conflicted over this. I'll wait to see what Activision announces, but they've kept all the Sierra properties hostage for so long that I can't help feel a little bitter and mistrusting of them. The death of Sierra by CUC/Vivendi was a painful one, and while Activision has thrown a few bones to fans over the years (half-hearted Quest series collections released in 2006, distribution on GOG), it seems like they've waited until the right moment to capitalize on the fans who would be frothing at the mouth with wallets in hand at the revival of a classic Sierra franchise, or just the Sierra name itself.

Probably one of the best games they made and of the best renditions of the Robin Hood legend in any medium.

I even won a free Sierra T-shirt from that game, only contest I won pretty much:p

I came in this thread looking for Kings Quest love....left very happy.

Here's hoping we get a Kings Quest or Quest for Glory reboot.

Cautiously optimistic. But it is still Acti we're talking about.

That said Sierra was one of the greatest publishers of all time right up to the end. Some of my favorite games got the green light thanks to those dudes and I rarely feel much attachment to gaming companies.

Well this is something; reviving an old section of a publishing branch you own.

I guess this is where Activison's lower-budget stuff will fall under and being the 'separator' between Call of Duty and other Activision games; instead of developers being absorbed into the Cod Machine, they will be migrated over to Sierra to make B-Teir games.

Smart move I think :D. They have god knows how much money, so they can easily throw a good deal of it at this new branch and have them produce many new IP and squeals to classic IP they are leaving dormant for years.

.....Maybe this will be that catalyst that will start Crash's revival :D?

I would have some serious nostalgia overload if they bring back adventure games.

And none of that point and click stuff either. I'm talking about moving around with arrow keys and typing in swears at the bottom and getting reprimanded by the developer.

God yes, and a remake of the original Colonel's Bequest. My first PC adventure game was Dagger of Amon Ra in '92 and I loved it, but the progression system wasn't designed well at all -- a dead end was inevitable unless you had a hint book. I don't know if it was Roberta Williams or Bruce Balfour who made most of these decisions.

With this nostalgia heavy thread going on, of course, someone named SURGEdude posts in here. Oh how that horribly lovely beverage fueled many nights of Quake, DnD, and Team Fortress.

Hoping for a VR game where you get sucked into a Hi-Rez animated world and get to explore all of the quest game worlds as an outsider.

Plot could be you are in a mall in the real world and notice a hallway that you never noticed before that leads to an old Babbage's software store with a mysterious looking nerd behind the counter. You look at an old shelf of clearance items and notice a box that has been marked down several times, titled "Quest Story". Where the price is supposed to be it just reads "Free to true adventurers". You bring the copy up to the nerd at the counter and he warns you that only true adventurers can play this game and that its cursed. You buy it anyway.

Sitting in your room, you pop it into your gaming device and put on your VR glasses, and are sucked into the world of all sierra adventures. The plot is similar to the one in The Never Ending Story, with the world being swallowed by something similar to "the nothing", but instead of it representing the lack of imagination, it represents the lack of story, innovation, and feeling in modern games. The world of Sierra is slowly being devoured by this mystical nonsense.

You are the only one that can help. You travel across all of the Kings Quest, Quest for Glory, Space Quest, etc worlds, gathering all the Heroes, making friends along the way while revisiting familiar characters you have grown fond of from the original games. The Heroes will be retired, or in other transitional situations as you try to convince them to fight for adventure games and save their world.

Game will be story based, little to no fighting, classic sierra humor, interactive story possibly with Disney style songs and celebrity voice work.

Budget will be $300m with release Holiday 2016. Believe.

Oh, Sierra takes me back to my childhood. I remember trying to beat Police Quest, but since english isn't my native language it was kind of hard since you had to type in all commands. As i became older i played through all of the Quest-games, and also the QFG-series.

For the love of god, please release sequels and/or remakes!!
