Why does Netflix has soo much awesomeness?!?!

All shows no one talks about. Are there eveb gaf threads for them?

lol no one cares or talks about any of these shows. Never even heard of any of them except for one or two.

Transparent is one of the most acclaimed shows on television; Mozart in the Jungle won Best Comedy at the Golden Globes in 2016 and was nominated again last year; Man in the High Castle generates healthy discussion on GAF (among other places); Sneaky Pete was one of the buzzier shows released earlier this year and ditto I Love Dick this spring. Etc.

They also have several exclusive imports (Catastrophe, Fleabag) that are superlative.

For $10 it's probably one of the best value propositions out there (Google music #1).

Yeah Google Google Music has been amazing for my long drive at work. When I'm on the road I mean unlimited access to any album has been nothing short of amazing. I mean you really can't argue about $10 for Netflix or Google Music.

It just barely manages to keep me paying since moving to Switzerland. Swiss Netflix has like a fifth of the shows of other countries, and even then it's like 2 seasons behind in almost all of them. And it has mabye 10% of the movies of Latin American Netflix (which already has only like 70% of the US content).
Oh and Switzerland has 3 official languages (well 4 but 3 are the big ones) and Netflix doesnt give a shit about supporting all of them. Most of the content is only in one language because even putting 2 extra subtitles was too much work. So it's cool that cowboy Bebop is there but of you aren't fluent in French then bad fucking luck.

There is always at least 1 show to watch and I like some of the originals... but not much more

Maybe if you are a comic book nerd I guess. I mean the Grand Tour sucked, but it was all people talked about for a year when it was announced the Top Gear crew were going to Amazon. Of course Amazon is going to lose the HBO content when the contract expires, so it's value drops quite a bit.

Ironically the hype for The Grand Tour dropped once episodes come out, almost like people liked the idea more than the execution. Once Amazon starts losing its HBO Content--and I've heard a few other deals are going to lapse--it will be pretty mediocre. I have Prime regardless for shopping, but I rarely watch anything on Amazon. HBO Now and Netflix are much more enjoyable experiences. The only show I really got into from Amazon themselves was Patriot, the rest have failed to keep me interested.

The Americans, Mr. Robot, The Expanse, PBS and HBO back-catalogs are on Amazon Prime. I don't think I've watched anything on Netflix this year apart from Archer S7.

I was a member in 2010 when getting US content was easy. Rejoined last week on the UK version hoping Mindhorn was up, but it's not. And it seems like they are pushing their own programming a lot more than getting any new films. The film selection is fucking poor.

Netflix has regressed for me. Used to be a lot better.

Hulu has A LOT of TV that Netflix doesn't, especially comedy, and a TON more anime if you're into that.

Also, The Handmade's Tale is better than any Netflix Drama.

I also think Filmstruck is a must-have sub if you are really into classic and foreign cinema.

I don't order much from Amazon so Prime is the sub I don't need. Currently riding that free Showtime trial for Twin Peaks but if I wanted Showtime that would be another plus to Hulu.

Whoa. How Have I never heard of this before? This sounds like it was made for me. Is there anyway to check out it's library before subbing?

I need to look back into Hulu maybe

I prefer TV to movies and don't really care for Netflix originals. I like the documentaries and food/travel shows mostly.

I just looked it up - seems to have the whole Criterion collection? https://www.filmstruck.com/films

Seems to have a free trial

Netflix has more original content I watch over any other network. It seems like they release a new series/season/documentary/stand up that I end up watching every 1-2 weeks

There definitely seems to be a bias towards Netflix shows. Maybe because more people have Netflix over Amazon? If a few of those shows on the list were Netflix originals.. there would definitely be more discussion about them.

smh. Name one quality Amazon original series. The Wiggles?
