I moved over to to prepaid today. I ended up buying a Lumia 610 and a decent plan. Awesome so far.
^ My friend has has so many shitty Kyocera phones break down on him... It sounds good on paper but they tend to fall apart fairly easily. Maybe they've changed since last year but it still seems sort of risky.
No Annual Contract Samsung Galaxy S II at Walmart
Today, T-Mobile and Walmart announced a national retail exclusive of the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S™ II as a no annual contract kitted option, providing a premium smartphone experience at a discounted price for no annual contract customers. Now available, the Galaxy S II costs $299.00 when paired with a T-Mobile Monthly4G no annual contract plan of $30 per month or higher.
The Monthly4G $30 per month plan offers unlimited Web, with the first 5 GB at up to 4G speeds; unlimited text; and 100 minutes of talk, with 10 cents per minute after the first 100 minutes. In addition, Monthly4G plans require no annual contract, no credit check and no deposit, offering great value and flexibility to customers.
With the addition of the Galaxy S II to the lineup of no annual contract devices offered at Walmart, customers have access to premium devices, fast nationwide 4G network speeds and affordable service plan prices – all without an annual contract.
The Galaxy S II is also available through Walmart’s Family Mobile service, a monthly, no-annual-contract wireless plan powered by T-Mobile’s nationwide network. The Walmart Family Mobile Unlimited Talk, Text and Web plan is $45 per month for the first line and $35 per month for additional lines, and provides unlimited access to Web surfing, data and social media for all lines on the account (base plan includes the first 250MB per month at up to 3G speeds). Available at Walmart stores nationwide and on Walmart.com, Walmart Family Mobile was designed with families in mind and is one of the best value options available on any national carrier.
I just went from post paid to pre-paid T-Mobile after checking the last 6 bills. Only used 75+ minutes once. Was paying $70 for Unlimited Talk/Txt/Web 2GB@4G Speeds + Handset Protection.
I had to go to a few stores here in L.A. before I got someone that would let get the $30 plan (100 Minutes/Unlimited TXT & Web 5GB@4G Speeds) without purchasing a new phone since I already have a Galaxy S3. Finally got hooked up at a store near Inglewood, Got the SIM, Plan plus Handset protection for $42 out the door. Next day I got my old number ported over with some issues but it got done. Now my bill will be $37 a month including Handset Protection.
Speeds are still great, This was a test done indoors where I live. Faster than my U-Verse 12mb home internet.

trying to buy this phone (in black) to use with a t-mobile pre-paid plan
For people who want to use non TMo phone on TMobile, you can go to airportal.de to find out if there is a 1900 3G tower in your neighterhood.
According to it, downtown Brooklyn has a 3G tower that covers where I work, but I haven't seen the 3G logo on my international Note yet.
Any idea when these prepaid services will get LTE?
Anybody know if Virgin Mobile is phasing out the LG Optimus Slider? I was hoping to replace my Intercept with it, but local places are sold out. Hopefully it's just the price cut down to $129.99 - at least I hope it's a price cut and not a limited time sale.
pointless product and users failing to take advantage of a product's features is not the same thingSmartphones are so fucking pointless for about 99% of the people that use them, and they are a gigantic waste of money.
Im currently on straight talk and have been satisfied with it but I'm considering getting on virgin because it would be cheaper and they have some nice phones but people I know don't just tell me virgin is not good but they make it seem terrible. What are some of your guys experiences with virgin mobile?
I feel like it's come to the point of having to choose between my tablet or phone as the on the go device. And I have ultimately chosen my tablet. I can't let go of my smartphone fully at the moment so I was thinking of getting on a prepaid plan to get my bills down.
Can I use any unlocked phone as a prepaid? Like if I currently had an unlocked iPhone 5 or if I went about and purchased a Lumia 920 online?
get the Kyocera Rise instead. it's better in every measure. and cheaper too.
Better than the Intercept and the Optimus Slider?! :O
Just switched to Virgin Mobile today on a Galaxy Reverb. Any outgoing call either takes 20-30 seconds to connect or it doesn't connect at all. Incoming calls sometimes don't even get to my phone or they take forever to connect as well. I have no problems with data/texting/etc, just the calls. I know 3 other people who use VM here and haven't any problems with the coverage so I know its not that. Is this problem something with Android settings or the phone itself?
That's what I was thinking but I'm new to Android and wasn't sure if I screwed something up somehow. :lolsounds like a phone and/or signal issue. it shouldn't take that long. can you try from a different location?
That's all the data you get? I go through that in a couple days.Just bought a galaxy nexus (Wanted an S3 but dang those contracts). I switched my postpaid tmobile to prepaid. Now have the 50unlimited (up to 100mb) plan. Is this good? Am i still being ripped off? help me gaf.
