Why haven't you bought a vita yet?

I got a Vita a week or so after launch and it, like my ps3, gathers dust. There just aren't any Interesting games.

Should've bought a 3DS.

There are games on the systems that I already own (360, PS3, 3DS) that I've been wanting to play but have not got around to play. There's no point buying another system. However, if it wasn't the case, I see no reason for not buying a Vita as there are games I do want to play on it.

At my age (28) I barely play handhelds anymore as I just don't have enough time between commutes from where I work, hang out, and live. When I do travel on planes I bring my 3DS and that does the job for those few days a month I am flying around. It's not that the Vita doesn't have anything for me, it's just that it does not really offer me things that the 3DS can't. I love the 3D on the 3DS and it's practically my real reason for playing with it. The Vita has great graphics but I'd rather play them on a home console.

High price, especially when you consider SD cards in.

If I grab one it will mainly be to download PSP games and some rather niche games Disgaea, Persona, Dragon's crown and things like that, i'm not after the 'system sellers'.

Basically everything

Not enough games and no I have other platforms to play indies and don't really care about portability
High price for the system
High price for the memory cards
Questionable at best future for the system
I don't need a PS4 accessory

I'll pick one up in the bomba bins in a year or two at HP Touchpad discounts levels

For a long time it was just too expensive, with too few games and stupidly expensive memory cards. Right now it's more because I have enough gaming devices already :/

Price on the system cause Japan had a price cut while no one else has.

Price on memory cards.

Those are my only two issues.

$85 for a 32GB memory card. lolno

I have PS+ and damnit I want one. Sort this shit out Sony.

Here's hoping they have some good news coming at Gamescom.

One look at the amazing OLED Vita screen any anyone who cares about image quality would buy one instantly. I can't even look at my PSP screen anymore after the Vita.

Too expensive, and I'm not really into handheld gaming anymore. I might end up buying one if its PS4 connectivity and associated feature are appealing enough.

- Price of the device
- Price and format of memory cards
- Close to no need for portable versions of indie games since I have an exhaustive Steam library
- Lack of compelling software. I bought Gravity Rush for cheap without owning a Vita (yet) and the only other titles that are currently out and are appealing enough are Everybody's Golf and Persona 4: Golden and I'm only looking forward to Tearaway and Ys. It's a pretty dire situation.

To the expensive whiners in the US. Use craigslist. I got my 3G Vita with 8 GB card and Madden for $140. Pristine condition.

Just interested to hear from those that haven't bought one, what is putting you off owning one?

Do I have to buy a vita? I rather use my money somewhere else.

Well to answer your question anyway, I don't want to play ports of any sorts on it, which Sony is once again defining it by "ps3/ps4 on the go". That's just no point of owning one then if I own a more powerful ps3/ps4. Only hardware exclusives matter and so far vita has less than a handful of them that interested me to justify my purchase (Gravity Daze, panopticon).

I might eventually get one, but not anytime soon.

It sounds like there are a lot of good games on it. I just don't see any must-have exclusives yet. I assume I'll get one eventually, so I'm hoping it gets more dev support.

I'm waiting for a price drop and a new revision maybe. Other than that, I like the system and I already have a bunch of games for it

Price
Not many games I want

I actually never got a PSP either, though I was very close at times. Does the Vita have many PSP titles available for digitial download?

I simply don't want one. I have neither the time nor the money to spend on it. I'd rather focus on the systems I have now as well as the systems I have planned to get (PS4 & Wii U). Hell, I already think 3DS/PC/PS4/Wii U is pushing it, not to mention the 360 and Wii I have as well.

I mean I just bought a 3DS 4 months ago, so I'll be playing catch up with that for a while along with dealing with the games that are about to come out.

I don't enjoy handhelds that much. The only one I've owned was Gameboy and I played that maybe 5 hours total.

Not enough Vita specific exclusives coming out in the future (that we know about). Only Tearaway really interests me. I don't like not knowing what Vita's future is. Even with Wii U's current drought of games, at least I know of several cool games in the pipeline.

Sony should release a new model with 32 gig built in memory for 200USD.. Ill be all over it...i wouldnt even need to buy games for it (initially) with my PS Plus sub.. already have all the games they offered on my download list..

I don't see a future for the system. It's a bad investment at this price. Memory cards are a rip-off.

This.

I've seen them second hand but I'm worried about the burn in issues of the OLED screen. And I really dislike that Sony went down the route of propriety memory cards. It's super stupid and anti consumer.

Memcards, mostly. First, they exist. Second, they cost money.

Price of the system comes with the lack of desireable games. The more games I want, the more I'll pay for the system. For now, it's expensive for me.

Lack of TV out is shitty too.

now imagine pulling out a dedicated video game handheld in that same situation. the entire restaurant would stare at me like i just pulled out my dick and started rubbing it. they might be both technically "games," but the iphone ones arent seen in the same shady light by non gamers.

is that fair? no. but i dont make society's rules breh

Is that accurate? No. I don't know what insane society you live in, but I'm 40 and occasionally have a 3DS out in public, and no one has ever reacted negatively to it. Certainly not "like I just pulled out my dick". In fact, the only reaction I've ever received, to the 3DS or the DS before it, was inquiries about the system or the game. But usually, people don't notice at all, or don't care. I've never seen one bit of difference between those reactions and the ones to my old iPhone or current Note games.

You have severe insecurity issues, sir.

I have a Vita but I really see how can I recommend it to anybody.
I should have stuck with the 3DS and sell my VITA instead of do the opposite.
It lags of "big" exclusive franchise games.
Except for Killzone, Dragon Ball and J-Stars Victory Versus (import) I don't see what I will buy for it on the near future.

this girl that was really into me in high school got in my car in and saw my GBA in the glove box when i told her "yeah i have some gum in there, go ahead."
she saw that and pretty much gave the most vile look like i had some my little pony porn in there. "you play video games, tahaha. hold on i gotta text amanda." LAST TIME, LAST TIME i brought a handheld out of the house. never again.

Cool story. I've used games to get laid. Seriously. And the only ones that work are the "kiddie" games and the old-school "oh, I remember that!" ones.

And my girlfriend's 19-year-old daughter uses my game room to impress her guy friends.

It's all in your head. Either that, or you're somehow stuck in 1990.

Meh, I don't really buy consoles used unless they're old. I'd rather just wait for an official pricedrop.

Also, one thing that I haven't mentioned is that I'm kind of paranoid about the possibility of a redesign. The PSP 2000 was a huge jump over the PSP 1000 in terms of design so I'm afraid the same thing could happen to the Vita. Granted, the Vita seems to be pretty great hardware-wise whereas the PSP was pretty flawed so this seems less likely. Usually when I say "pricedrop" I include this under the same umbrella.

Although with the recent announcement of a Dangan Ronpa localization I'm less paranoid, I'd rather get a Vita pre-redesign and get Dangan Ronpa day 1 than not, it's the kind of game I'm really excited to play as soon as possible, and I also want to support this kind of game in the west to increase the likelihood of more VN-type games making it over here.

Just interested to hear from those that haven't bought one, what is putting you off owning one?

Is it the price on the vita system?
The high memory card prices for small size cards?
Is it because you think it lacks games?
Too many port not enough originality?
Not enough ports?

Are you considering one but need that push?

Or a different reason?

Would you consider one? What can sony do to convince you to buy one?
Bolded and because I have a 3DS.
