Guys come on, its pretty obvious Urban Champion is being saved for a disc based 30th anniversary release.
If its 2-3 games a week thats ok in my opinion but you know its gonna be 1 at the most lol.
Wouldn't even be surprised to see no game weeks, especially to begin with.
Overs/unders on nothing else new till the 30c Super Metroid?
It blows my mind that Nintendo doesn't seem to see VC as potentially a MASSIVE selling point. Yeah those casuals who played Wii Fit and Wii Sports might not be coming back, but something that could win back some of that audience, or at least people other than the diehard Nitnendo fans, is to play on the nostalgia of 20 and 30 somethings by blowing the doors off VC and releasing a shit-ton of NES/SNES/Genesis/N64 games. I'm talking iTunes level. And don't give me this "it's not easy" bullshit. Emulating 8 and 16 bit games IS easy, especially for a company as large as Nintendo. This should have been priority number 1 for Nintendo. It's a fucking cash cow.
Ah right. Yeah, at least knock off the $1 so you'll want to buy right now, then just upgrade whenever that comes along.I don't think you understand. If you waited 5 years on Super Mario World you would have paid $8 for the Wii U VC version rather than the Wii VC version. That doesn't change. But there's no reason to buy a Wii version now and that's where the backlog is. You'd get screwed for buying anything from there at this point because there's no telling when that game will get upgraded. This is why they should lower the price so that it doesn't matter if you buy it now in Wii form and just wait for the upgrade, you'll pay the same price once you upgrade.
Why is anyone even mad? Did you seriously expect Nintendo the release every game that was on the wii VC at the same time...?
Of course they're gonna dole out everything out one at a time... how else would they maximize profits on the VC.
Same thing is gonna happen on NextBox and Ps4 at launch...

That's just it: they need to turn it into a gaming-themed museum of sorts, only with goods for sale. I think this is a great idea. Unfortunately, Nintendo won't be this awesome...
I'll never understand why companies choose to trickle out releases over making them all available. People will download the ones they want as quickly as they can. If they aren't for sale, then that's money not in Nintendo's hand that otherwise could be. Recommendations and quality search functions are really all that's needed.

The whole handling of this is just baffling to me.
You've got a console that is desperate for content. Any content at all. There's no excuse for not putting out 30-40 games minimum, followed up by 8-10 each week.
Do that, cut the prices by 50% (NES $3, SNES $5, N64 $8, GCN $15) and you've got a tonne of content available for
Heck, if I were them I'd offer a $50/year subscription service to access the entire library. Realistically, the average person won't spend $50 on the VC in a year. But I'd pay $50 a year to access Nintendo's entire NES/SNES/N64 library.
If the reason is they have to tailor each individual ROM/emulator for each game, then they need to change their approach. I know Nintendo are all about 100% accurate emulation, but the amount of people who care is so tiny. Just do system wide emulators and get 98% accuracy. Build the Wii U functions into the system wide emulators. If there are certain games that don't work, then go and do individual emulation.

Why start with the cream of the crop when your user base is so low?
Also anyone and everyone who is actually upset about this:

Go nuts. I'm serious. You want to make change, don't just fart around in here being angry, tell them.
Disagree with this. I want a reason to feel good about owning official old digital games. If they weren't as accurate I'd rather just use my cartridges.
So we can't be mad because we should have expected it. Good stuff mate. What about the people who expected it at are still mad? Toxic thinking.
Has the Europe list been confirmed yet?
It's pretty toxic getting mad at video games because they don't suit your expectations all the time.
Remember before the Wii launched back in 2005?
And everybody went nuts over the Virtual Console?
Nintendo was surely going to rule the digital roost. They knew what a great library of assets they had and they were going to use it. Not just NES, SNES and N64, but GENESIS! And TG16! Maybe even GBC and GBA titles eventually! Oh man!
No one minded repurchasing because these were digital! You'd have all the systems in one small awesome box of fun!
And then it launched. And suddenly everyone was forced to remember how terrible the launch year NES games were. Oh boy. DK Jr. Math and Urban Champion for $5. For that I could buy 5 99c iOS games that shit all over those.
And their N64 lineup? Wow. Really? 21? And only 2 3rd-party titles? After over half a decade, that's the best they could do?
Apparently, yes, yes it was. And today, this relaunch affirmed that.
If they're scared about people forgetting that crap, then make it a subscription streaming plan like Netflix.
I'm just mad that Wii U hasn't had a single appealing piece of entertainment since launch day, and that includes this list. I had a feeling I should wait on Little Inferno, and lo and behold, I got it for $.99 on my iPad.
Monster hunter 3 ultimate and Lego city say hi
I will buy none of those games, ever.
However, I will buy Super Metroid next month.
... Only to buy it later when Zelda, Mario, Mario Kart, Smash Bros., X, Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3, and any other surprise games come outHAHAHA, sold my system at the right time.

I wonder how much profit VC actually makes for them.
So basically 2 years or so from now.
And you gained what by selling it between now and buying a new one then? I'm not a Wii U defender I just never understood the concept of buying a console then selling and rebuying it. Surely the amount you make on a used Wii U right now is probably only fractionally higher thant what you'll pay to get it back.

I've already played Monster Hunter 3 years ago, and also I'm not 8 years old.
The money from selling it being put to better use than sitting around and being a dust magnet? Not everyone pays full price for a system.
