Will you buy x720 and ps4 day 1.

Yes Proelite. I will buy one for each room in the household. Even ones that do not have a television. This is how I plan all my purchases surrounding products I do not know anything about.

Not after the 360 fiasco.

I will buy one once its 1.5-2 years in the market
This. I will never trust an MS console again, ever.

And I don't mind playing catchup, it's what I usually do any way - cheaper games, lots of choice of great titles, I'm just now getting a PS3 and I can't wait to dip into the back catalogue so far.

I will certainly not by them day 1 .. maybe day 30 or 60. It all depends on consumer reports of how the system functions.

There is a zero-percent chance they will call it 720. It will confuse customers thinking it's a 720p console, when it will surely be a 1080p console capable of 60fps on all games. Therefore I predict right here, right now, it will be called the Xbox-1080.

No, of course not. I don't know the price, the software lineup, whether there is backwards compatibility or not, etc... Blindly buying something that you have no idea about is crazy to me.

I'd have to know more about both in order to make that call but if I'm just guessing, I'm somewhat likely to get the 720 day one and very unlikely to get the PS4.

If I had more/better friends? Yes. I have never gotten to pick up a system on day 1 and I would tag along with one of my friends who has enough disposable income to get one when it comes out. Just the energy around the event would be fun. Or maybe I'd just feel like an old man.

Either way, count me in on getting the EA : Origin console when it comes out.

Launch lineups = probably no chance

Both the 360 and PS3 had atrocious launch line-ups.

Wii had the best lineup with a Zelda game that was delayed from the previous gen and some sports mini-games that used motion controls.

Also:

Launch 360 hardware was not nearly as reliable as current hardware and didn't have enough HD space. PS3 was way too expensive but did have hardware BC. Of course PS3 slims are able to decode DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD.

PS4...maybe.

NextBox, not a chance. RROD killed any chance of my ever adopting MS hardware before it's been thoroughly play tested in the real world by gamers for at least a year.

Anyone who thinks they'll get a new console on "day 1" without having heard anything needs their heads checked.
Really?
You're saying that all the early adopters of every product needs their heads checked?
Playing around with new tech is value in of itself.
Getting an new ps4 and xbox 720 day 1 is so much more reasonable than getting a new Ipad once every year.

Most likely not, but maybe the PS4. 720 would be an extremely low chance and it's doubtful I'd decide to get one at all over the course of the generation.

I'll get Wii U day 1 though.

Never I have bought a console first day and never I will. I am glad I never had to pass through what people have experienced with the 360's RROD.

I'm not risking it. Not a single chance. I can always catch up after I get the console.

Wii bit early for this question, but yeah I will probably pick up the PS4 day one as I have every other PS system from the beginning.

Will be there day 1 for the PS4 if it has full BC with PS1, 2, and 3 games.

so in other words you won't be there day 1 ha

In my experience buying consoles at launch is a silly idea, they only get replaced by better, smaller more reliable hardware a few years later. So you might as well wait until the games library is up to scratch. Though I did by a wii at launch, but I've never had a Nintendo console go south on me, usually built like a brick and my snes and n64 still run like a dream :)

Absolutely! Most likely both. You know I've always been "XBox first!" but I could not see myself owning the next MS console without also owning a PS4.

Next Xbox - Not until the second revision
Next PlayStation - Buy a launch unit and never open it, sell for profit 3 year later when all the other models have features removed.

No idea why you would commit to day one without knowing the launch lineup. Especially the Xbox considering where they are going currently.
