How can I link my Office 2007 programs on OblyTile? I tried the default shortcuts, but I get an error when it tries to launch it.

I can't even locate the shortcuts to point Oblytile too...

If you have them pinned on the Start screen, you can right click and select "Open File Location" - it brings you to a directory buried within ProgramData, which is a hidden folder.

But to be specific:

Local Disk (C > ProgramData > Microsoft > Windows > Start Menu > Programs > Microsoft Office

Ah yeah I did that and got an error as well but I assumed it was just that it was a shortcut and not the actual file .exe

That was what I had assumed. I did try to find the source of the shortcut, and all it'll say is "Microsoft Office 2007".

Oh well.

I really wish windows would use the built-in 128x128 or 256x256 icons some programs have and stretch it to the tile.

I guess the manual way will have to do.

Just did google image search for 200x200 pics for ones I did not see in this thread.

So many game tiles. This is why I've opted just to have a Steam Icon for non Windows Store games, and then launch the games through there (and add them to Steam if they are non-Steam games).

Oblytile needs to change stuff in the program files directory and needs permission to do so, so you would have to disable UAC to let it do that automatically.

I haven't experienced that, but the xda post says to just hit the refresh button in oblytile and it will re-cache everything

Hey, people. I registered here solely for this thread. I've been assembling a number of Metro icons lately, and wanted to share.

Some of these I created, some I simply modified to suit my personal preferences. One or two might actually be someone else's work--it's been a few weeks, so my memory might be failing me a bit.

I see malware on your start screen in the form of iTunes. There's your culprit! I haven't experienced that either, but yeah, try refreshing. I put a crapload of work into mine as well and losing everything like that would be a killer.

Edit: Got it, had to change the way how IE opens up links under <Internet Options> <Program> tab.

I was a little unsatisfied with the existing tile for MSI Afterburner so I tried to create my own version.

Not very high quality, but here it is any way. It comes in three different versions, two regular (one with stroke - one without) and a mirrored one.

If it happens to you a lot you should be able to nail down the trigger easily enough. I've had it happen to me once in the months I've used it, during the first week of using oblytile, and I haven't seen many other reports of it happening so it's likely triggered by the user specifically doing something

I must say I'm annoyed that we still need tools like oblytile with 8.1 rather than there being better customisation included in the OS.

Also annoyed that the upgrade removed all my custom tiles.

Thanks to the creators of the tiles. I'm using 5 GAF ones right now and they look fantastic (Far Cry 3/BF3/Metro 2033/The Walking Dead/MSIAfterburner). Now to make some of my own to replace the rest.

Nice.

You were already able to set tiles tiny from the Start Screen, but the other sizes are definitely a good addition.

I would only really use the larger tiles for live tiles, but the option is there if I need it.
