Gundam Try-18

I'm a little conflicted on this. The character work for the Trio is absolutely shoddy at best. Once again, only one person on the enemy team mattered. So many battles in this series feel superfluous in that a team format wasn't needed. The enemy Gunpla itself was also pretty damn boring. There's no sense of strategy in any of these fights so far. Sekai is just straight pulling shit out of his ass at this point. The show is just a complete step down from the first season.

That said, the climax of the fight was also really well done on a directorial level. The composer actually realized that he needed to do some work this season and the OST this episode was great. There's a lot of really solid storyboarding and pretty decent animation. The SD having a sad look with the final stroke was a really nice touch.

So I guess this is one of those polishing a turd things.

Just when I started to feel I needed a Hisoka fix. I was curious to see what he was up to, he's definitely the character I enjoy the most so far.
Frankly I expected (and wished) him to be the fifth person in the main group for this test, not the rookie breaker.

And here I was thinking "Unravel? Sweet, maybe I'll try to play his cover of it some day!" Well and then the video started...in 10 years perhaps. Took me like 3-4months to actually play Yasashisa no Riyuu somewhat decently, but it's a fun way to get gradually better (though I should rather learn the basic scales and all if I want to be efficient >.<).

Yep , the urz sub arc would have been great to see animated but not by that team , as their adaptation is trully disapointing in my eyes.

Shimakaze is still being cute in the background, and damn if all the VAs aren't doing a great job here. There's distinct voices for all the characters - like the entire Sixth Destroyer girls group being one Aya Suzaki. Focusing on a different group of characters was a nice change of pace, and while I've seen cooking competitions like this before in anime quite a few times - Mai-HiME comes to mind - this one has Kongou.

Of course Yuki has a little sister who's going to cause trouble. The childhood friend almost always does. I also liked the instrumental version of the opening that played during the shopping scene.

Miu can be kind of an asshole at times. Throwing rings, messing with the drums and setting up shop at the festival are at least not actively damaging uses of it, but getting Chika all worried like that and making her think she's putting on weight? You gotta know your boundaries, Miu. That's the most Chika's been in focus, though - she doesn't have as much presence as Matsuri's shyness, Ana's politeness or Miu's above-mentioned being a troublemaker. Miu playing baseball reminded me of Natsumi skiing in Non Non Biyori. Both of them don't know what they're talking about - the difference is Natsumi was mostly right.

The hand of stupidity is literally calling her back.

How much ammo do these cops have? It's not like they're shooting a black guy. Anyway I'm surprised as I didn't expect this arc to tie into his mother in that way. I thought he had long gotten some sense of closure but this episode made it clear that he's still grieving and that he had shut himself up to avoid dealing with the grief. Both Reiko and Shinichi's feelings were conveyed extremely well.

Around 20 episodes is when it dumps the 2 stories per episode format, but Lum's and Shinobu's characters change positions before that.
