Witcher 3 Enhanced version on Next Gen and PC

You joke about Skyrim but dont be surprised if it happens. There is one thing they could add, that isnt in any other vesion of Skyrim on console, 60fps.

CDPR doesn't get enough credit for their consumer-friendly attitude.

I wonder if all of my yakuza games on my PS4 will be playable on launch on my (future) PS5

Witcher 3 the new Skyrim LOL. Seriously this sounds awesome still need to finish Blood & Wine guess I'll do it on PS5.

Maybe I'll finally finish it this time. I have 4 copies of the game and still haven't finished the main story yet.

I quit the PS4 version around 10 hours in because I suspected something like this. So now I will play this on a PS5 at 4k/60 with ultra details and some slight raytracing. Dope.

Very cool news. CDPR are just amazing. I bought the game twice on GoG to show support, and just recently I bought it again on Steam during a sale so I can play it through GeForce Now. Hopefully in addition to RT, they'll have DLSS support since Cyberpunk is shipping with it.

CDPR continues to put greedy companies to shame with their consumer friendly approach.

Overall this move makes sense considering the recent explosion of Witcher's popularity.

Dammit i am on my second play through and just finished hearts of stone. Getting all the question marks solved before moving to Blood and Wine but little sad I played the bulk without the refresh. I did some mods like the HD reworked. The reshades changed the game too much, plus certain areas would change the color grading dynamically on vanilla and I like the devs color vision more than what I saw. I guess I'll wait to finish. Or just end it and do a 3rd raytracing playthrough once I upgrade the 1080ti

I got about 20 hours in to the game and felt fatigued. I've been meaning to give it another go. I respect the free upgrade path for existing owners so I'll wait till it the upgrades launch and dive back in. Very good on CDPR :messenger_clapping:

I was just about to finally continue playing this before Cyberpunk. Do I wait to play it on SeX now? 😅

great for those who haven't played it. I for one am not looking forward to playing the same game again only because of visual upgrade.

Finally, the game that was advertised back in 2014!

Or something. Though I really just wish they'd rework the combat a bit.

Either they make it look like that 2014 build or IDGAS

Ghost Of Tsushima looks better then what Witcher 3 originally WISH it looked like.... so a free update is a free update, but I doubt it will touch what Sucker Punched pulled off with Ghost.

CDPR once again proving they're the 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐 !

I really can't believe it; already if you look at it with reshade and it's pseudo-RT GI it looks sooooo good, but now it's the real deal & native? FUCK YEAH!!!

maybe its the video, but framerate loooks horrendous, yes gorgeous looking... but

Also brings back Witcher 1's potion-crafting system.

YOOOOOOO I didn't know that. I hated so many of the changed they made in Witcher 3. Basically nerfed the series. Be like "here is some free bombs and potions for just being you" smh. "Mediate and get that free health even ever bro". I liked it better the way it was set up in Witcher 1, it feels like the RPG elements in 3 are a compete afterthought compared to 1.

If you waited 4 years on the off chance I can't see a slight tech bump making much difference 😉

Just my opinion but apart from the third screen shot the land looks very generic, lots of big empty spaces.

Plus your comparing a 2016 vs 2020 game. Apart from arguably combat Witcher 3 has everything, and that is why it is the best game of a time. Fact. 😁

Witcher 3 came out in 2015 and that has little relevance if you consider they still are made on the same hardware. Sucker Punch is simply the better team. They made Ghost look BETTER then what CDPR was claiming Witcher 3 could look like....

fact :pie_raybans:

Ups I must be thinking of Blood and Wine.

OBJECTION! haha. It totally does, look at launch PS4 games compared to now. Plus not only in technology terms; developers build on other games, take what worked, refine it etc. Ghost for example has clearly used Assassins Creed as its basic building blocks.

Ok....but that simply just states WHY its looks better though. So maybe its because they had more time with the hardware or simply because they are a better team, but ultimately Ghost looks far better then what Witcher 3 wish it looked like. So I'm fine with a free update, but I'm not holding my breath that they will even touch what Sucker Punch pulled off with Ghost. Thats like thinking Skyrim on PS4 would look near Witcher 3 on PS4 or something..... Making Witcher 3 run on PS5 doesn't mean the team will completely rebuild the game to try to catch up to Ghost Of Tsushima. (I'd be hype if they did though, fuck around and call it Witcher 3 2014 edition lolz)

"Ghost for example has clearly used Assassins Creed as its basic building blocks" You could argue Witcher has too though, Assassins Creed didn't invent open world games or something smh.

Oh yes my point Is they all build off each other. Doom off Wolfenstein etc and so on.

Yeah theres only so much you can do in an update like this. For me the Witcher is already an amazing game so anything else is just icing on the cake. In reality it's probably going to be 2 or 3 guys at CDPR working on it in a side room for 2-3 months so I've definitely got my expectations in check. It's still probably going to be 500% more than what most other developers do with their legacy content.

I'm just expecting RT, res bump and maybe more on screen NPC similar to what we saw with GTAV on PS4 and XONE.

"It's still probably going to be 500% more than what most other developers do with their legacy content." I'm not too sure, we already have developers giving out free PS5 and Series X updates to their older titles.

Older titles? I was under the impression it's mostly been ones released this year. Control is the exception I can think of and that was only last year.

Obviously theres lot of unannounced titles Sony is presumably testing so we shall soon see!

Now that's how it's done! Excited to play this with a smooth ass frame rate and enhanced visuals on Ps5

Same.

I got Witcher 3 at launch and my save file got corrupted 40 hours in. When you invest that much in a RPG, you just don't got the energy to go back lol. By the time I even felt like making a new game since its update corrected the glitch, Fallout 4 and Metal Gear Solid 5 came out......400 hours later and game after game kept setting me back. Horizon Zero Dawn, Yakuza Zero, Final Fantasy XV, Persona 5, God of War, Days Gone, Nier etc I never thought a series I beat all the games to, got at launch....I would never end up beating until PS5.

If you told me that in 2015, I was never going to believe you. It just snowballed and work and school piled up along with so many other RPGs, that even the next 6 months I have mapped out I just don't have the time for it. Playing Ghost Of Tsushima now, playing Cyberpunk 2077 after, PS5 launch games after, Far Cry 6 in spring, Yakuza 7 and likely Assassins Creed Vikings in spring next year etc. I don't know when I'll end up getting back it, but its looking extremely likely it will be on PS5. (maybe ultimately that was a good thing lol)

Hostile_18 Hostile_18 "Older titles? I was under the impression it's mostly been ones released this year" Well yes because they are more relevant, but Rainbow Six will run on PS5 and Series X and it released before Witcher 3. Same with Destiny 2, I was going to say Destiny 1 but I'm 90% sure it won't get some free update on PS5, simply that it can run on PS5 thru BC or something. I might be wrong, but I think the whole update thing on PS5 and Series X was only for Destiny 2.
