Witcher 3 Enhanced version on Next Gen and PC

I have this game modded quite a bit and literally 2 days ago got to the dlc that I was wanting to playthrough again and then they announce this.

I'm genuinely curious if their upgraded version is even gonna compare with the modded version. Plus I'm nervous its gonna be an entirely new file and not just an upgrade to the existing game and all my mods will have to be reinstalled.

Too many people in this thread are praising CDPR for work that we've not yet seen. Like others have said, the game's textures have already been modded. This 'enhanced version' might not even have texture improvements that match what the modders have already accomplished.

Why not just pay the modder who's already done the texture work? They want to add ray-tracing - well, okay, but I'd much rather they invested resources on getting Cyberpunk out the door.

I hardly think a couple of people working on this for a few months is going to take anything away from Cyberpunk.

If they got the user created textures theres surely loads of legal and performance implications I definitely think there better doing it this way. The goodwill and extra PS5/XBSX SKUs will no doubt lead to more sales supporting the studio.

I told ya'll that the PC is going to be this generation best platform to be on! It's going to pick up so many games from the PS space and all the Xbox ones. (y)
Bit sad though init?

PC is the best place to play because of console games. If this had have been said 20 yes ago, you'd have been stabbed by pc nerds 😂

Platform wise you can't go wrong with any in this day and age, but the sheer convenience and accessibility of consoles will always keep them on top regardless of the PC's capabilities IMO.

Nearly every other medium has proven this. It's kind of a shame the Steam box was fumbled so badly.

Nice! Maybe this time I´ll manage to finish it instead of clearing every goddamn single ¨?¨ of the map.

I was going to hold off playing the Witcher III until I could max it out and play it at 1440P/144HZ. Guess that's not happening any time soon.

Are we still hung up on this? The game came out 5 years ago.

It ain't healthy to carry a grudge that long.
No kidding. And the E3 demo is even older. They're not even charging for this if you already own the game. Time to move on from a 2014 demo, I think.

Already put 100 hours into my initial playthrough and fell off before finishing and have been meaning to start another playthrough of this before the new consoles come out so now that's on hold.

I was going to wait until the patch comes out on the next consoles for cyber Punk but I may have to buy it on one X just to support them early. Is there a release date announced for the upgrade on series X?.

When I read this news I really got hyped and decided to install and mod the game again, I'm really pleased and looking forward to play it with Ray Tracing, it is stunning already with mods and custom reshade..look

My biggest gripe with the E3 2014 downgrade was the animations, Geralt seemed to move way better than he does in vanilla, has more weight, more realistic movements, jumps, etc.

I can understand that consoles couldn't handle 2014's graphics, but downgrading something so critical as animations is indeed very strange

Well, I'll definitely pick this up now.
I've been trying to save some money for the PS5 and thus haven't bought any games since late 2018. This comes in good time! Always heard great things from it

I have no plans to ever play Witcher 3 again, once was more than enough, but I still think this is very cool.

Saber Interactive is porting / remastering The Witcher 3, not CDPR.

People love to throw out terms like "invest more resources into getting something out the door" without having one iota of understanding the logistics of adding more people to a team. Investing more money into something doesn't magically make it happen quicker and/or even better. Hiring more people, bringing in other studios is not a snap of the finger instantaneous decision and it can often slow things down if not handled very well. Those people need time to get up to date, up to speed. It's one of those things it sounds fine on paper. CDPR have more or less admitted that they are already done with the game, it's just tweaking and fine tuning at this point.

Be interesting to see how it compares to this mod eventually

Comparing them is probably less enticing than combining them. It sounds like this upgrade is more focused on enhanced rendering, where the mod is enhanced assets. Peanut butter and jelly right there.

so whats upgraded ? resolution to 4k ? no thank you. and i thought thses devs not going that cheap.

You want Skyrim on PS5 and XSX? Okay, another $60 please.
Skyrim PC owners of the base game + DLC were upgraded to the Skyrim Special Edition for free when it released.

I bought the pc game when it originally released and then after all the DLC was out bought it at a discount. Later my Steam Skyrim purchases were changed to the SE automatically.
