Witcher 3 - Nintendo DS version

I've tried to downport them further to the DS, quickly using Irfanview. I'm sure someone with quick access to Photoshop could do a better job though. I'm happy with the colour and pixelisation, I just wish I could do something about reducing the draw distance and give less detail to the surroundings.

It's dope but the lighting and shadows look to good to look authentic.

a.) To see how far they could push the DS
b.) To see how bad it'd look
c.)
"what do you think witcher 3 would be like on ds"
"i dont know man"
"...."
"..."
"lets make witcher 3 on ds"
Zero chance this would run on the DS. I'm talking like less than 1FPS.

3DS doesn't have anything close to that level of fidelity.

I think maybe 1 or 2 games at all have even half that draw distance (I'm convinced Kid Icarus cheats because far off-locations appear far too close for the amount of distance you travel).

It looks more like a PC game from the late 90s than anything else to me, and even then there's something very off about it.

Nice. Added to OP.

Man, you guys took the "Nintendo DS version" too serious :P

Pretty much.

It's because there's too much information to them. Even if they're basic it's a lot of polygons for one tree, and there's more trees in there than 90s PC games.

Real or not, I have an urge to play Witcher 3 for the first time, but just this version. I love me some high poly games like EverQuest.

Very powerful DS

Very powerful Photoshop more like. WOWITSFUCKINGNOTHING.gif and all that.

I was expecting a homebrew feat of technical magic, instead I get Photoshops of something that clearly couldn't be done without doing black magic.

I think "Nintendo DS Version" is just a bad title. It clearly implies that someone made something Witcher 3 related for Nintendo DS.

Maybe just... "Stylized Witcher 3"

Replaying Pokemon Diamond on my DS right now and this looks way too good for a DS game, LOL.

I think the main problem is the lighting, shadowing and shading are still far too complex for a DS game. Would be nice if someone could downport them.

Even the 3DS can't handle that.

That looks better than anything on DS, hell even the 3DS

the 3DS would be lucky to pull this off...

Nah the N3DS couldn't do this. But it is pretty cool what max "low" settings actually do.

This is not something the DS, 3DS or N3DS could do.

My thoughts.

I was hoping was something that the DS could do.

Remember the TLOU Demastered pics which were, in fact, made by fellow GAFfers? For reference, these are good examples of how a game would look on hardware several generations older.

As everyone has said, it's doubtful even a n3DS could run this at 240p. But it's a really interesting aesthetic in parts!

I'd take graphics like this if it meant some small studio was able to make a game as large and deep / interesting as W3 with the money / time saved on the art assets.

Heck it looks like a style all its own tbh.
