Words/phrases that make you cringe (latte & flat white)

It was tongue in cheek, nevertheless "flat white" is pretentious cunts coffee.
Nah, the flat white is the best thing Australia has ever given us. It's really good~ The only thing I really cringe at is if I ask if they want room for cream and then they go on a tirade of how you should never put cream in coffee. I'm saying that as someone who does drink their coffee black.

Edit: Pwned is actually a really good one too. Haven't really heard it since high school, thankfully.

Cringe has become a remarkably overused, stupid word. If you're cringing at the mere uttering of a word, or in the OP's case, when someone orders a goddamn latte, there is something seriously wrong with you, and I think you should begin some serious self examination.

This was going to be mine....think of all the wonderful words we have to decribe motions and some jackass boils it all down to feels....and then even dumber jackass use this word seriously

*high five* I was fairly recently expressing this same point to my younger brother a week or two ago.

I saw some fb post since then where someone said they were finally playing the last of us. Every comment was some dumb "sooo many feeels" "feels of us" bullshit.

Its like saying "I experienced emotions." Thats cool but maybe tell me which ones. Or even one of the many? And at least if someone said "the last of us was a very emotional game" they wouldnt sound like some nerdlinger trend hopping recluse whos only social outlets are reddit and youtube comments.

"That ___ doe" is pretty annoying.

Another thing that's annoying is when non-americans try to sound like they've got the americano thing going on when they add "like" and "you know" before and after every sentence, especially athletes from northern and southern Europe: "yeah, the race was, you know, pretty good, like we was good at the start but, you know, it's pretty normal when like these things happen, you know"

Fuck cancer

I get you're trying to show support or sadness, but it's such a lazy and meaningless way to go about it. To me it says you just want to say your piece and be seen as sympathetic without actually putting forth anything meaningful or well thought out.

Oh my god,

I was going to prepare a better answer, but your opinions on coffee make me cringe. Wow.

"Gat Damn"

Fuck sake, its God damn. Gat doesnt even make sense.

You're reading it like it's spelled, and not as intended.
Shouldn't sound like bat.

Same sound as God, but replace 'd'sound at the end with a 't' sound instead.

It's referencing a way that certain Americans say it.

Prefer when it is written like 'gaht', because i think the intention comes across better.

"Well, to play devil's advocate..."

Stop. Everyone already knows what the opposite side of the argument is. We don't need to hear it, we all know it's stupid.

And this thread went into offensive territory real fast. "Cis" confuses you? Hey dummy, try thinking about people that are Trans for second! They are probably way worse off than you but sorry for confusing you with such a simple term.

Honestly, who has heard the word "triggering" in a context outside of online? A person wants to make their online space a little more comfortable for them (which is probably the only place they can control) and it bothers you for some reason? "Well the need to learn what the real world is like" yo this is an online space you weirdo. They already know what the "real world" is like and making them feel anxious and panicky just because you don't get it is a shit move.

Whenever 'literally' is used in a statement that does not warrant any logical use of it at all.

I was in a group project with three people who kept doing this, and it drove me insane.

Sports analysis seems to be on the 'optics' wagon lately and its annoying. "Well situation x might not be the worst, but its bad optics/ with these optics it is bad."

'It is what it is' is a garbage saying too.

I am sitting near the counter in a cafe. Hearing people order latte kind of makes me cringe, I just think it is such a pathetic drink. Coffee shouldn't be so watered down.
When I hear someone order a flat white however it is much worse, and I have a strong urge to thump them. "I couldn't live without my flat white" kaboom.

I feel like the content of the post and the thread title are talking two different things.

"Also can" - You go movies or bowling, also can

Adding "one" to the end of a sentence like - I very stress one, very tension one

Using "reach" instead of "arrive" - when do you reach here?

When people use the words "meaty" and "oozes" in sentences such as:

This game has a "meaty" campaign

This art direction "oozes" style

For me it is almost as bad as ending those sentences with a ":3"

"Fuck humanity."

What a stupid, lazy, offensive way to express your disgust for an isolated event or person or whatever. Our species has done a lot of good things. There are a lot of great people in the world. It's just plain disrespectful to yourself and others to say everything and everyone are awful because some things and some people are awful.

Any one word responses are pretty annoying.

"Rude", "gross", "really?", "wow", "2015".

If you really think something is rude or gross, elaborate on why you do.
Reminds me of the Maddox video "Really isn't a punchline"

Welp. Really? Are you really welping? no. You're not. And it is a horrible word that makes no sense.

"Welp, better stop watching this show now." "Welp, bad news"

When I used chrome I had an add-on that blocked it and using this website became bliss. Now I had to switch to Firefox and I can't find anything that censors the word for me. Extremely annoying.
You could try FoxReplace. I use it to replace a lot of overused words/phrases like right in the feels, selfie, terribad, GOAT, and so on.

As a coffee elitist these are not offensive at all.

What I do find gross are the drinks with a whipped cream hat sprinkled with toppings. By the time your stupid fat face is done chowing down on the disgusting cake the coffee below is ruined and probably crying in agony.

I once ordered one by mistake and I regret it to this day.

I had to quote this because it made me laugh out loud.

Mine is Dem/Doe/Does/Dat

Ending a sentence with "no?" or "yes?" to make it into a question.

It's like having to talk to Igor from Frankenstein.

Concerning.

When did this thing pop out? This is concerning to me.... Urgh. Stop it.
