After reading the dangerous animal thread, I thought it would be interesting to get GAF's perspective on the worst way to die from an animal attack/incident?
Mine wouldn't really be a common one I imagine, because it isn't related to a mauling or ferocious attack. Mine would have to be getting bitten by a Blue Ring Octopus...I'm Australian so it's a very real possibility, in fact I was lucky not to get bitten on one occasion. Anyway, let me explain with some choice quotes from wikipedia why I think it would be horrifying.
"The blue-ringed octopus is 12 to 20 cm (5 to 8 inches), but its venom is powerful enough to kill humans. There is no blue-ringed octopus antivenom available."
"Tetrodotoxin (the venom it posses) blocks sodium channels, causing motor paralysis and respiratory arrest within minutes of exposure, leading to cardiac arrest due to a lack of oxygen. "
"It is essential that efforts continue (artificial respiration) even if the victim appears not to be responding. Tetrodotoxin poisoning can result in the victim being fully aware of his surroundings but unable to breathe. Because of the paralysis that occurs they have no way of signaling for help or any way of indicating distress."
I mean, fuck that...Imagine walking through a rock pool, unaware that you have be bitten (the bite is so small you often can't feel it) and a few minutes later you are lying on the ground completely paralysed and unable to breathe, yet you're aware of everything happening around you...That is terrifying to me.
So GAF, what do you think?

Edit 2: If it is something more obscure (like the Box Jelly) please indicate what it does to you.
