Really? Microsoft stop just buying studios, Fix Rare....
Would they have the rights to pull it off other platforms? Not a minecraft player, but it's an interesting business move. There must be something else in the works for them to be worth $2 billion, I can't see that much more revenue coming from this minecraft.
Selling out to Facebook = Creepy
Selling out to MS = Okay
Ok there Notch.
Notch probably realized that there will never be a big hit like Minecraft and decided to sell the company at it's max value before their other games have disappointing sales.
Why? All they have is Minecraft.
I don't see what's in it for Microsoft. They already have Minecraft on all their systems. Do they want to retroactively cancel the PS3/4/V/iOS/Android versions?

Could you buy Rockstar for 2 billion dollars?
Notch is rich as fuck. Why would he sell the company?
Also confirmed, "Minecraft: The Journey" for Kinect.
I don't get it. Minecraft is already on PS4 isn't it? What's the point of buying Mojang if they don't get Minecraft as an exclusive?
Aren't they the guys making Elder Scrolls? Megaton
Buying studios is what they should be doing. There's nothing to fix at Rare.
Notch is rich as fuck. Why would he sell the company?
If this happens they'll pull it off some platforms (PSN) and leave it on others (iOS/Android). They wouldn't be buying Mojang purely to make money on Minecraft sales, there's a strategic imperative.MS is buying it to make money. Pulling it off of millions of platforms that it's already on is the opposite of making money.
While Microsoft may love this idea, I'm not seeing how it makes sense for Mojang. They already have more money than god.
edit: Maybe Notch would rather walk away from Minecraft and do something new with a different company?
