Rock, Paper, Shotgun wrote about this the other day and it seems pretty cool. I haven't played the original game, but I'm willing to try anything Gollop.
Game was amazing. Although I do remember getting stuck during the story because I had missed one of the ingredients in the portmanteau so I couldn't use the flight spell.
And while it might be a remake, his remake of Laser Squad, which was originally a turn based game like X-com (only with space marines and 5 fixed scenarios) was with that phased stuff like Frozen Synapse (where both sides have a turn to give orders and they are followed out at the same time in real time). Which is good for what it does, but not really turn based, IMHO, more like real time that pauses every so often.
"I want to keep combat/movement very close to the original, with some tweeks." (I guess turn based confirmed, I frankly don't see other way to make a Chaos remake.)
