Yea, I placed my order a long time ago and now it looks like I won't be getting it on the 27th. Kinda annoyed I decided to go with Amazon on this one.
Did they change your expected delivery date?
I did order mine after the 9th, but was told that I should still expect it on release day. When I pushed back and asked why the actual order didn't reflect that, I got a very vague "please understand" kind of answer.
Don't guarantee me release date delivery just to shut me up and turn around acting like this whole product is a mystery.

My Amazon order still says release day, the 27th. They've yet to let me down. I see nothing to worry about.
It doesn't help that I'm getting canned responses and they're not actually looking up my order and giving me a real answer from knowledge of the item.
My Amazon order now says Delivery date pending. I'm going to contact them after work today to see why it changed.

Why would you think they have any idea? They see basically what you see.
I think it's reasonable to expect a company to know more about a product release than the customer is privy to. Hence my looking for more details.
And Amazon changed it to November 4th. Germany Tier 2 confirmed

Well i done went and changed my mind I decided to get one and found out it is sold out on amazon and Gamestop is no longer taking reservations. Hoping there will be some in stock at Gamestop when i go and pick up Halo 5

It looks like most places are out off stock with what seems to be significant demand and a small-ish first production run.
I'm sure Microsoft are ramping them up as we speak.

Nobody really knows at this point. That's what I'm hoping for if Amazon doesn't come through for me.
I might try a phone call rather than emailing then. I just want to know if this is a fool's hope with Amazon.

Mine says preparing for despatch, UK here so seems will get it on 27th but why preparing it so early?
Thought I got a CS rep at Amazon who knew a thing or two about my order, but the conversation ended on him telling me that it would arrive on the 28th because I chose one-day shipping, except I didn't choose one-day, another rep switched it to one-day for "free" last week.
He also "guaranteed" me that I would get it on release day just before this, and then said "let's hope you get it then" and "I like that controller too."
I give up with Amazon CS. I feel like I used to be able to get real answers on my order questions. Now it really is as if I know more about what's going on than they do, and I don't want to come off as a pompous know-it-all as I keep bothering the poor souls who are just reading from their scripts, doing their job.

MS stated this was planned as a low volume device and it was among the most pre-ordered items coming out of E3.
Low supply + high demand = shortage
There is a very vocal portion of people who complain about the price, but the demand exists at this price point.
I suppose from my perspective the interest in it seemed minimal once the pricing was announced, but I suppose my mistake was basing my assumptions on GAF reaction. I'll learn my lesson one of these days.
Yea, I have given up on Amazon. I pre-ordered the day it was announced and now they can't tell me when I will be getting it. Decided to go with Bestbuy since they are still taking preorders and offer free shipping. I really wanted to use Amazon credit, but don't want to wait weeks for them to restock.

Decided to use the Bing Rewards credits I've been hoarding for the past 3 years. Got a total of $80 worth of Amazon credit. Controller comes down to $70. Not bad. 
I just hope Amazon actually sends the controller on release date... Using the free Prime Two Day shipping shouldn't change anything right? Should still arrive on October 27th? Or do I need to upgrade and pay the extra fee for One Day shipping?

You'll be fine if you have Prime 2 day. I have bought a lot of games through Amazon and got release day delivery from them with the prime 2 day.

Posted this a few days back, but if you read the item description on Amazon, it no longer guarantees release day delivery if you ordered after the 9th of October.
This is the issue I'm facing since I ordered on the 12th.
I've just seen too many instances of Best Buy overselling items and botching release day. Would love the free shipping at Best Buy, but just can't trust they will actually deliver on time.

Of course they will. The paddles enable you to hit buttons without removing your finger from the right stick.
I don't view this as a negative. I view it as an option for those capable and willing to pay. Just as scuff controllers always have been.

There will be an advantage for some, but then,that advantage has been available for years. Just predominantly in Pro Gaming circles.
This won't turn a bad player into a good one though. It will enable a good player play that little bit better.
