XB1 Elite Controller ($150)

This may have been brought up earlier, or perhaps not revealed, but my biggest problem is accidentally hitting the right stick button during multiplayer. Will the app allow for disabling buttons, such as this?

Of course. You can map every button. Disable buttons. Thats the whole point of the controller.

It even have a button for two profiles. So you can technically set 1 profile for shooting and one for driving.

Costs (wholesale or production) are irrelevant. Pricing is not the same for everything so it's futile to try and compare MSRP to what you believe it should cost.

For example, the windshield for a BMW costs less than $10 but dealer cost would likely be closer to $1000.

It's relevant to determine how much room the controller has to possibly drop in price. Game software and hardware drops in price quite steeply most of the time.

For BMW windshields that's obviously a bit different as they know they have a certain customer base that will pay nearly any price for the "official" OEM windshield as opposed to going with a third party one that would be 1/10 of the price. For instance if a guy can afford a M6, he or she is not going to begrudge 1k for a replacement windshield and that's who that item is tailored to. They never need to or will drop the price regardless of what the manufacturing cost is.

Did not realize this. That's an awesome feature. This controller is being created and marketed specifically for people like me.

Before I moved on to Scuf - which have pretty nice build quality - I was using the Razer Onza, which is a cheaper quality pad that has extra programmable shoulder buttons and mechanical(!) thumb stick sensitivity adjustment. These things were complete crap quality-wise and broke within a few weeks. That said, I have at least 5 of them laying around (broken) still because, despite the horrible quality, I could not go back to a regular controller after using something like this.

I personally used the extra paddles for Halo 4 and Reach. Specifically the jetpack in combination with the bumper jumper control scheme. It didn't necessarily give me an advantage, but more just allowed me to use my preferred control scheme with the most powerful ability in the game and exploit it to the max. This was previously impossible unless you wanted to play with an awkward "claw" grip.

I'm excited to see how this new Elite controller works with Halo 5 and all its new abilities (thrust, ground pound, hover, etc).

Sweet, disabling confirmed. I am now pre-ordering. Thanks.

Fair enough, that is true but what remains to be seen is whether the controller is manufactured in enough volume (with low enough demand) for them to want to reduce the price.

My feeling is that it won't drop quickly due to high demand for what they will make, but we will see.

First retailer in Norway had them listed at 899 NOK, that's about $115, so I preorderd it just incase the price is wrong.

If you could tell one of app designers to include an update that would allow us to map a screenshot button that would be great.

I'm baffled they didn't include a screenshot/record button on the new controllers.

That is not a crazy idea. No idea if the voice stack and the guide/press/macro can be easily utilized like that, but I'ma suggest it. "Xbox Record that" might be useful too, but I wouldn't assume it's trivial to handle.

That would be amazing. Also maybe a map option of a double tap of the guide button, for some reason I suck at inputting that.

Any ideas on a release window? Got my Amazon pre order in, and I am thirsty as hell for it. Also did anyone ever find a pre order for the Blue Forza Xbox One? Never saw that on Amazon.

Edit: I guess it's Ocrober? Damn that's a hard wait. :(

The Blue Forza Controller is a MS Store Exclusive, it will not be sold at any normal Store or Web Store.

I pre-ordered my Elite today at Gamestop. I forgot to ask when it is coming out, anyone know when these are suppose to come out?

Sorry I meant the Blue console. I pre-ordered the Elite controller already on Amazon, and sadly wont be using that special blue Forza controller. It seems amazing, but the Elite controller is much better.

Is the Blue Forza console also an MS store exclusive? If so, that is a major bummer.

Does it come with a longer than one year warranty? I imagine this thing to be built to a higher quality standard than the... standard controller (I've gone through 3) but a controller this expensive should be guaranteed for at least 3 years.

I think that would be nice to have.

So what's the chance we're gonna be able to use this on PS4? (obviously not through official means)

I think it has been mentioned that the button configuration is stored on the controller itself, so you could possibly remap the controls on a PC and then use an adapter for it on the PS4

Major Nelson's latest podcast talks with the creator for about 45mins with some great info. It starts around 7mins and finishes close to 54mins.

* Worldwide launch expected in all major markets in October and others to follow soon after
* 9 foot (2.8 metres) braided nylon USB cord will ship with the controller
* Remapping is done at controller level
* Adjustable thumb stick sensitivity - shape movement from quick to slow based on rotation as well as Independent sensitivity setting for X and Y axis
* Ability to set min-max for buttons
* Preset profiles for FPS, racing, fighting etc. Specific title presets to follow later
* 255 savable profiles can be stored within the app
* Ability to scale the dead-zone on trigger pulls
* Profiles will be saved in the cloud once Windows 10 releases, on console only until then
* MS working with 3rd party to release themed paddles and thumb sticks
* Binding button also acts to disable the paddles with a double tap and vice versa
* 3.5mm headphone jack will allow sidetone, adjustable on the console

Might have missed some stuff because I suck at summarising!!

Stinkles! Add a Halo 5 dish dpad into the collectors editions!
They most likely won't do that since most people won't buy a premium controller just for Halo.

But I am genuinely intrigued by the notion of themed components. For example a themed d-pad for Titanfall 2 that already has button functions printed on it.

Question I thought of today.

This still has rumble triggers right?

Just wondered with all of its features if those needed cut at all
