Xbox Game Pass now has over 18 million subscribers

3 months for a dollar is very much worth it. No idea if I will get value out of it with the normal price. There's not too much on Games Pass I want to play or don't already own.

Great option to have every now and again to try a few games out, that's about it.

They are subbed to PS Now. And also, XSS is widely a available in PAL territory which is the cheapest entry in Xbox ecosystem. To me, nor everyone wants it
2.2 million are subbed to PS now out of 110+ 😂😂😂

I said people wanted games for cheap, and the availability of the Series S has been greatly overblown here, as pointed out to me earlier tonight.

But whatever makes you feel better.

We haven't even warmed up yet, just scratching the surface..BIG Tsunami Hitterz by Nov. '21 yet to drop.

Congrats to MS/GP teams 👏

Adorable how doubters, haters, fake concern analysts getting bish slapped in the Morning.

So they don't buy the games and enjoy it on the cheap thanks to gamepass... you gotta keep it straight on each topic man
that's the joys of having games on gamepass, you can choose to subscribe and get Microsofts games day 1 or you can still buy them

but they didn't say "not"

Yeah, saying isn't huge money maker also can be interpreted as not earning profit. For the sake of public opinion, of course PR would be "isn't huge money maker" or some positive spin. Here is a true statement from me and no PR bullshit : i've made some money last month, but no profit at all.

I've never seen so many people pissed off at the idea of a company making money before.

Jesus fucking Christ. Some of you all need to reevaluate your choices.

that's your own interpretation of it, again they could of said not making any profit but they didn't. just not "Very" profitable can mean small profits.

lets say they are earning 150mill each month and they are giving 1 mill to each company who has a game on there a month, highly doubtful but lets say that's what it is. that's 50mill a month

now I have nothing to back those figures up but its as good as guessing as some others have who are against gamepass

You seems to be the only one taking it to hearth here

I suppose your latest plan to take over the world did fail again but don't worry, you go again with Pinky tonight

Trust me I've learned to tune out the people that want to twist words and make shit up long ago.

There's only a few here that can hurt my feelings.

I get frustrated with how obtuse some of you can be, but I chalk it up to fanboyism and lack of education so I forgive it easily.

Have a good night though.

Just keep it open man, I like to have a dig at the X yeah but it won't affect anything, right... we just chattin'

There is no lack of anything, let me ask it this way, why are Nintendo or Sony not jumping on that GP wagon? They too dumb to realise the gold mine in front of them?

Only the start of the day here, have a nice one

It's a great deal at the €2.78 I pay a month (for GpU), actually €1.38 because I share it with someone else, but as soon as the 3 years are up and the price is €10+ then I'm outta there.

It's not dissimilar to Apple TV+. They must've extended me free about 4 times now.

How does that happen? Because the subscriptions are dropping off and there is insufficient natural growth. Yet they need an audience to justify its existence and report on Subscriber numbers.

This would not be happening if it were a runaway success.

The sooner people realize that MS will take the home console business the better, don't want to see everyone in this forum crying in 5 years.

1 schrute buck to 1 billion stanley nickels
What's the ratio of stanley nickels to schrute bucks?

Good results. Congrats to Microsoft.

We also know that PS has 50 million subscribers (Plus, Now)

PS Subscription revenue
$870 million (July to September)

So, that's actually a slowing of growth since their last announcement, which was 5 million for the previous quarter. Not good when you take into consideration that it's available on more platforms, this is after Xmas season, and after a 3 months of Ultimate for $1 sale.

My guess is many are unsubbing after their discount periods are up. Or they are approaching a saturation point for the amount of people interested in it.
it's the opposite of what you understand. it accelerated

Nintendo and Sony won't jump on because they straight up can't afford to.

Nintendo games never drop in price. Sony Studios make amazing single player experiences that people will pay $70 for so why would you give it to them free(relatively) on release day.

Xbox doesn't have the quality of games (yet) or is not stubborn like Nintendo to charge $70 for Halo/Forza/Gears without price drops so they had to come up with something completely different.

So they pushed that model because the struggle was real, not really what we are being told about Gold Mine

Yeah it sounds good on paper, but its only $18mil a month as every single Gamepass user is on a lifetime $1 a month subscription.
$18mil is nothing.
Have Sony fans turned into trump supporters. The amount of twisting of reality is astounding.

Everyone is on a $1 lifetime subscription??!! Really.

I get that people have their console/machine of choice but this trolling is really pathetic, and I've been banned for less. Why are people so triggered with gamepass.

Oh, what nonsense. People who simply cannot accept conventional mathematical analysis call other people Sony fans. This is ridiculous. Can't ordinary people have doubts about something. And you, from above, have already been given the main in these doubts. But, you continue to carry this nonsense about the fans. I will be the first to buy xbox if Fable and other solo games are great. But, this garbage on pure trust in the company is so tired. Give me games, Microsoft
Expensive and great singles that all fucking ask

I was being sarcastic lol

There are a few reasons why I think getting customers for a gaming sub will be harder than for a TV/movie sub.
  • Almost everyone watches some amount of TV but not everyone plays games
  • Many of the most popular games are F2P
  • Playing the same game over and over seems more common than to watch the same show over and over
Game Pass will do well for sure but i'm not expecting Netflix numbers.

Negotiator101 Negotiator101 Another idiot who gets upset when GamePass and profit are mentioned in the same sentence, and doesn't wonder why Microsoft hides the financials.

Probably paying $1 a month himself 😁.

They are two very different things. You need an Xbox Live account to play minecraft on Playstation or Switch. You don't need to "subscribe" to anything to be an Xbox live active user. There really is no such thing as an "active" Gamepass user, you are either subscribed or not.

Maybe. MS doesn't define if it's concurrent or life time and they are exactly the type of company to pull off that piece of comedy.

It's ridiculous the stunt jumps that people are forced to do to spin this news into something negative. Ms is the second richest company in the world .. they didn't get there because they were bad at calculations and could not distinguish revenue from profits. Hearing kids in all their presumption draw definitive sums literally makes you laugh. And I don't even understand this aura of suspicion, what's the problem? Netflix get the first profit 7 years later and continuously burns a large part of the capital by investing uncontrollably trying to increase the user base.. does all this make Netflix a worse service? Are they going to sell? The answers as in the case of gamepass are simple with the advantage (per ms) that unlike Netflix the service (gamepass) is not their primary source of income.
