Cry me a river. Who would have thought posting a video of last years show would upset the manchildren so much.Everyone knows exactly why you're in an Xbox thread. Don't pretend otherwise. Maybe wait till you're Four and it won't be so obvious.
Almost all their aqusitions have been over the last 2-3 years, even less for some of them. It was always going to be a waiting game in regards to the games. This might be unpopular, but XBOX kind of has to flood the gate here with stuff as a goodwill outreach for how blatantly bad they have been with expectations since their major acquisitions. The 2023 delays left a bad taste in the mouth of many, their output hasn't created system sellers in the last 5 years.
It's a problem.
Hopefully some cool stuff to see, but much like with the Sony presser, I would temper expectations and hope to be pleasantly surprised if you are a XBOX fan.
Who do you think these showcases are for though?Almost all their aqusitions have been over the last 2-3 years, even less for some of them. It was always going to be a waiting game in regards to the games.
And its not really a 'problem' when the masses, which vastly outnumber us nerds spending hours a day on gaming sites, probably dont even know about these delays. Hell most of them wont even know what Starfield is, nevermind that its been delayed lol.
It certainly hasnt effected Series sales so far this gen.
Sounds good to me.
Still no leaks, be a miracle if we make it to Sunday.
I dont think i have seen one Xbox fanboy say they think Series consoles will sell more than PS5 this gen. In fact i very much doubt Phil and Microsoft themselves expect to beat PS5.Who do you think these showcases are for though?
The "nerds" primarily. Core gamers. Sure it will trickle down the line, but those tuning in are for.
No doubt that XBOX fans have constantly reminded gamers that "many acquisitions were within the last 3 years" so we shouldn't expect much yet - but that isn't the core issue. I am not asking for releases, but the hype generated, information, and yes - there has been output since their acquisition part began 5 years ago has yet to deliver. But there has been more than what you have described that haven't really turned out hit machines. Ninja Theory, Undead, Compulsion, and Playground were all 2018. I would argue that NT was the best of the bunch, but none of these have really produced system selling or hyped games. Compared to Kojima and Playstation - with a relatively niche product in Death Stranding captivating far more hype and discussion, it's a disappointment. Xbox has hurt their image a good bit in the last year; delays to arguably 2 of their 3 major "2022" titles, 343 drama and complete chaos, and still getting beaten by their largest competitor all while acquiring the largest game publisher in the world and while their console has been far more readily available for purchase.
I am not trying to be doom and gloom at all for XBOX. I have said on here before, though I consider myself a Playstation player primarily, I like Phil and all. But I just hope people are not getting too hyped. I don't think it will be hard for XBOX to beat Playstation's summer showcase. Playstation's showcase was relatively average. I am simply saying they need some good will and press because I don't think 2022 has gone how they have hoped.
I do want to stress before somebody tries to catch me on this post or your original reply to me. Yes, XSX has continued to sell well. However, it has had every advantage in the world to do such and still can't overtake PS5. XSX is way more easily acquirable compared to PS5. There are more on shelves, more on online retailers. They should have, hypothetically, had a massive sales bump after the Activision/ Blizzard acquisition, but nothing major. Sony has done everything in it's power to present a relatively average landscape since Ryan took the helm, and XBOX should have been able to capitalize more on that.
That's all just my .02
Not trying to crap on XBOX at all, just I think they need some good will towards gamers as they try to turn the tides of the last 2 generations.
I think they've had like non-stop goodwill over the past two years lol. That's why the brand is in such a good place now compared to the Xbox One and they're selling every console they make. They've put in A LOT of work to turn around the brand after last gen. Honestly, nothing in your post seems to be really based in reality.Who do you think these showcases are for though?

I'm actually interested to see how much of Starfield we get to see, now its been delayed. I'm certainly not expecting a 20+min deep dive like we would of got if it was hitting its Nov release.Awesome! I hope it’s a longer gameplay video for Starfield. Short gameplay trailer on the 12th and a deep dive on the 14th.
It's probably more to do with not being able to fit everyone in to the main showcase. I think some people are unaware that Microsoft have over 23 developers currently and that's not counting the 3rd party exclusives. Most are at least creating 2 games, you're talking potentially 50 games in development, it's crazy. They must have had a change of plans to announce this extra one now. I wonder if they were going to hold it for later in the year orgiinally.
Wait till you're Four made me chuckleEveryone knows exactly why you're in an Xbox thread. Don't pretend otherwise. Maybe wait till you're Four and it won't be so obvious.
Fuck yes, show me dem goodsMS clearly have a lot of good stuff to share - should be a good week for gamers!
Pretty much the acquisitions you mentioned all had games come out around the time MS snapped them up, since then they have release content for those games and we should be seeing new stuff fairly soon if not on sunday.Who do you think these showcases are for though?

If Colt Eastwood is on it I'm turning it off. That guy is a POS fanboy that spreads false information. I still remember his Xbox One vs PS4 exclusive videos on Youtube where he deliberately picked some of the worst PS4 exclusives to include while omitting other ones just to try and make Xbox seem better or on par. One of those people who preys on those who are too stupid to go look up the facts themselves.Lezzzgo Parris Lilly & Colt Eastwood!!
If last years show is anything to go by it's just an extended look at what's announced and chat with developers
My holiday starts on the 14th having a new Kitchen put in so in the evening I can sit back and watch thisNice, I won’t be able to tune in live on the 14th but I’ll consume all the highlights afterwards.

You can have new trailers for already announced/known games. Maybe even some unannounced smaller ones but I'm not sure why you're concentrated on that though. People were saying that this is some indie reveals focused show or that they couldn't fit all the games they had into the initial one. I just showed what the format is mainly about. The big games announced at the show get deep dives and a chat with devs.just read
"where we will share new trailers, take deeper looks at the news from the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase"
what part of the complicated phrase "we will share new trailers" some of you voluntarily do not understand?

They have re-iterated "new trailers" on twitter.. but honestly.. if something doesn't fit in the first 90 minute show.. it's probably cut for a reason lol
I was only talking about trailers...they are implying they'll have trailers for games not in the main show.. I'm saying, they probably aren't particularly hyped games. Not necessarily, though.
At the Showcase proper, you’d want to keep gameplay demo for Starfield to say 5 mins, and maybe a minute or two for Redfall.
An extended show would let you show off a full mission in Redfall, or give you a 15 minute deep dive into the world of Starfield.
Some stuff that gets removed from the main shows aren’t quality related. I just read an interview of the dev behind Tetris Effect where they were gutted they weren’t going to be featured at Sony’s E3, but luckily Sony gave them another slot in a separate showcase that worked out just as well.
How are MS going to fill 180 minutes of time over a couple days with 0 games?
I need that next high-fantasy banger. Been too long since TW3.I want to see Avowed the most.

Yeah I'd assume the same. I just meant "new" in the sense they aren't in the main show. Not that they are newly announced games or anything.Could just mean new trailers for already revealed games, most likely. I highly doubt new games will be revealed in the extended showcase, since that's not what they've done for the past two extended showcase events.
Yeah potentially a good sign for sure.Agreed.
Still a good sign that they didn't need these trailers as filler for the main event.
