Xbox One now $349 from 16th January

They're pretty close now....

I can see them exchanging months. Sony has some moderate system sellers especially in march....

I think its gonna be fairly close come sony finally announcing a price drop at Gamescom

I honestly can't say at this point. All I know is that Sony needs to play the waiting game.

Wow, I can't say anything without getting ransacked.

Not annoyed, I'm just saying. If you're going to lower the price, then why not just freaking stick to it from the get-go?
MS may have wanted to see how the Xbone would perform at $399 again. I guess it couldn't compete as well at an equal price so they went back to $349.

That's a tough question.

I guess I'm just astounded that there can be people who manage to find negative things to say about a video game console becoming cheaper for everyone. :)

Hahahahahhaha

The amazing part is all the suckers who actually believed MS. Someone needs to redo the Momento image that says Don't believe his lies.

They are. I font think theyll lead to sony selling 100 thousand extra consoles during Bloodborne launch week but a 10k boost is doable similar to what mlb the show will do

If they do a bundle in UK like they did with The last of US and Infamous:SS, it will sell a lot more than 10,000 extra consoles.

I find it hilarious that people can't google search how much exposure BloodBourne has got compared to other FROM Software games.

Think about Tokyo game show, GAMESCOM, E3, and PSX. Game is going to be so far the best selling EXCLUSIVE GAME next to Uncharted 4.

I'll give you the bad press The order has been getting. But Bloodbourne looking at Press and positive feedback is extremely high. And lot's of people have been preordering that game on Amazon, more so since PSX.

I'm pretty sure that anyone preordering Bloodborne has a console. I think ti will sell well. I don't think it is the game to move a substantial number of consoles to new customers.

We'll see.

Duh

I think this is a good thing, their US sales should boost considerably now, I wonder if the PS4 will get a price cut this year......

Too bad the rest of the world is team blue, a tight fight would actually be the best scenario possible.
If they wanted the Xbox One to sell outside of the US they should have offered similar promotions there. During Black Friday the Xbox One was $350 + 4 games in the US and €400 in the EU with just one game, the pricing here is a joke.

They more than likely saw a huge drop -- a drop bigger than normal after the Holiday season.

I don't see the problem; Not devaluing the system if MS is doing this to bring the games and services that they think are great to more people in 2015 before the Holiday season starts.

Unless you're one of the 10 people that bought an Xbox One between January 3rd and today, I doubt you're very upset about the news. No idea what Biker is ranting about.

I am sure they had to raise the price for awhile for legal reasons. Good that they dropped it to $349. A much better price for it.

Even then, lots of retailers will recognize the price drop and refund the difference if it's within 30 days. Price guarantees and whatnot.

In the us I mean.

Yeah, I know. I mean that I really don't know what's going to happen from February and on. If they will be neck and neck, if they will win some/lose some, if MS will start selling more every month, if Sony still sells more... etc.

No idea really.

Yeah you kind of are. Sony has The Order in Feb. & Bloodborne in March.

We don't know how The Order will do. Just because a large line of thinking around here is that it's a safe title due to it being a shooter doesn't mean it'll sell millions of itself and move significant units. The recent blurb from one of the folks from RAD and the trailer though have me fairly excited to see what is hopefully a marketing blitz of the game.

Bloodborne is an interesting situation. Not sure how many people who don't have a PS4 already are going to buy systems in the US for it. It's something I know people will buy a PS4 for, but that doesn't mean most haven't already and in specific regions.

Both looking to be very strong titles (Bloodborne I'll say guaranteed so), but to be major console sellers in the US just due to their existence doesn't seem realistic on its own. We'll have to see where the marketing and reception takes them, and hope it translates to people who aren't already committed with systems making the jump.

To be clear due to likely defensiveness, especially with a FROMsoft title involved, I'm not saying they won't move systems. It's just not as linear of a situation as some make it out to be, and same to those who feel that those who want those games or would be interested in them are all already committed to the platform.

From software games have gained quite the following on consoles and pc. I could see some people buying a console for a specific game ( I do it for Halo). I am wondering if we will see a Bloodborne ps4 console though

But 349 standalone <349 plus 2 games. So itll be interesting to see how it plays out

Can already buy it for £255 in UK (sale) hopefully by end of year it can be gotten for £200 with some games then I will jump in

I'm surprised X1 won Dec but I guess I shouldn't. Just about everyone I know that got a new console over the holidays got an Xbox One.

If MS maintains its momentum through Feb+March with no games, Sony will have to price match.

Sony already made a sku move, and it wouldnt be much of a stretch for MS to add FH2 to their bundle

Ah true, totally forgot about that. The PSr should still easily beat the X1, even with this price difference. It'll be much closer though. So if Sony drops to 350 does MS drop to 300? Would they go sub 300 if Sony did $299?

They are basically letting Sony hold all the cards

This has to be a permanent price drop, no way they are able to go back to $399 now. Maybe they'll drop the price in other territories too. In the end we win, cheaper console and Sony might feel the need to follow suit and drop the price.
Now I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get an XBO for a great price during the Holidays since I'll be working again by then.
