So is Xbox's unlimited war chest back on the table now?
Someone above Phil just felt generous - very. Reasons will always be unknown.

Sony doesn't need to do anything yet. They're in a comfortable and strong position right now.
It would be wise to wait and see if them bringing the price back down again will actually shift sales substantially in the US.
Sony can afford to do that, specially with how early their stream of solid games start releasing this year.
Sony needs to do $299.
I feel bad for the person I sold one to in March at $500 when I bought it for $440.Now that I think about it... It really sucks for those poor souls who bought an Xbone in January at $399.
Ah true, totally forgot about that. The PSr should still easily beat the X1, even with this price difference. It'll be much closer though. So if Sony drops to 350 does MS drop to 300? Would they go sub 300 if Sony did $299?
They are basically letting Sony hold all the cards

Hahaha...no they do not.

well they're certainly gonna lose the U.S if they don't change the price at all.
What if they're temporarily dropping the price because they have some big announcements next week with Windows 10?
:O

Is MS aware a permanent pricecut in Europe is much more needed?
MS have got themselves in a position where Sony made a move and they followed very quickly, rather than having one made a move and the other a while after so while we can expect Sony to drop the price as their next move, they may well wait as far away as August/September for the holidays.
The Xbox One will be $299 this holiday with Halo though, that much should be obvious.
The lead that sony has in the U.S. will be gone by April. Not really putting myself out there when I say that.
What do you mean?
I don't know why you go into Xbone threads as it seems to cause you actual physical pain.
I'm sure they're fine with a substantial lead worldwide.
I don't know why, either. Everytime I give out my opinions about what Microsoft's doing, all these posters here do is attack me. Maybe I should just stay out of them.
So far, the only posters who were being reasonable with me for my opinion about this, are illmatic22 & Bgamer90.

Poor fools that bought an Xbox One the last two weeks...
But this is good news, keep slashing that price, MS.

does this also mean they'll be selling at a loss from here on out with the $50 price cut?
