XBOX ONE owners, Energy-Saving Mode or Instant-On Mode?

Instant on. Makes the console more enjoyable to use.

Coming home from a long day of work, saying "Xbox, On", and then having my Xbox One & whole A/V setup turn on with the game I was playing 12+ hours ago on the screen right where I left it never gets old.

...Can literally get into a game in less than 15 seconds.

It turns on your av equipment as well?! As a ps4 owner, I can honestly say that I'm jealous!

This will be so good for Titanfall.

This goes for me too.

Every day.

:)

Instant on with resume play. Even buggy BF4 works great with it. I walk into the room and say "Xbox on" and my suspended game is ready to play before I'm even sitting down.

With how proactive MS has been in terms of updates, I would love to see the IR blaster evolve into a comprehensive Harmony Remote type solution. Then the XBOne really would become the hub of my living room.

Not really going to happen, since it times-out from the server for inactivity, so you'll have to reconnect to the servers, but still, it's nice.

I used it during the beta. Took me off due to inactivity but I was able to get into a new game really fast.

Which do you folks use? I seem to jump back and forth. I must say though, it is super awesome when I turn on my XBO the next day and I boot up the last game I played and it takes me right where I was when I turned off the console.

Does it still count the hours in standby as hours played that game?

Instant On as it's more or less my cable box (or extension of it), plus the boot up time is atrocious. Lastly, it's the quickest way to get updates as there is no option to search for them manually.

I am on the energy saving mode and I even have the X1 plugged into a smart strip that unplugs the X1 when I turn off my TV.

I just don't like leaving my electronics on all the time and I like trying to save energy.

My XB1 isn't my main console in terms of game time, so I accept the boot time for energy saving.

The instant on IS sweet though.

Switched on at the socket when I want to use it , turned off and unplugged when not. I'm not leaving a console plugged in and powered on all day every day to save a dew seconds at start up.

And 'Xbox On' has worked precisely once for me so meh

The only electronics that get left on overnight is the wifi and me charging my phone. Everything else gets switched off.

So its ESM for me. Though I do use IOM when I'm around during the day and it is awesome.

If it's 15 watts per hour whats that cost a year...like $30 total? Seems like it would be much more effective to save power elsewhere.

Instant On for me. I like the use of Kinect telling it to turn on and watch TV while eating since I'm a lazy fuck.

Instant On! I love telling getting home and saying Xbox-On and having my whole entertainment setup turn on and be ready by the time my pants are off.

Instant-on. Haven't noticed any significant increase in my energy bills and I've had mine since launch. The recent updates have improved the performance of the OS, where it used to get sluggish after a while, it now performs smoothly.

Energy Saving, though since switching it to that mode it doesn't always turn off the television correctly.

Instant on is set as the default. 'Xbox On' is such a cool feature.

If I don't play anymore that day or I go to sleep, I hold the power button, it goes to power saving so it won't spin the HDD at 2 a.m.

I keep mine in Energy Saving because when I'm not playing it it's in a closed cabinet. I'm afraid of heat build-up. I tried leaving the Xbone out of the cabinet and in a place where it would be fine to leave it on all the time (since it HAS to be on to watch TV through it) and would have made instant-on feasible as well, but I don't like the noise the fan makes so I unhooked my cable and stuck it in a cabinet.

Just to clarify, the fan noise is very, very low but I'm pretty sensitive to annoying noises (It's why I can't do plasma TVs) and the Xbone's fan is a little on the chirpy side. I REALLY wish the console did HDMI pass-through so that it didn't have to be on and running to watch TV if you didn't want/need the extra features.

instant-on. Saying Xbox On as I walk into my room (or as I head to the restroom before sitting down) and never having to pick up my TV remote is sexiness.
