Xbox One S : First Unboxing Geoff Keighley

Yeah but that's just their standard trade-in price. I imagine (hope) they will run a special trade-in promo where you get additional credit if applied towards an Xbox S.

I wonder if MS will offer a trade in?

Perhaps for the Holidays.

Observations:

1) Sony was this size maybe smaller 2 1/2 years ago.

2) Can't be excited nor purchase with Scorpio around the corner.

So the original XBO didnt have a button for power? What did it use? A touch panel like early PS3's? It's weird that they would go back to that as they are expensive.

I think it looks great and want it. But if I get it then it will be the only white console I own, sitting next to the other four black ones. For the sake of maintaining color monotony I'll pass.

Dear Journal: Today I made a decoration decision. I'm finally an adult.

It has a capacitive touch button rather than a physical button like they moved to on the XBOs.

When does the new controller go on sale separately?

I'm guessing late August/early September to go with the design your own ones.

Yeah, I'm getting it but I really wish it was in black. Or at least silver/grey...

I want the UHD player :(. Does anyone think i should just wait for the scorpio? or the neo? Will there be any trade in deals for the slim xbone?

I'm probably skipping the Scorpio. By the time it releases you'll likely be able to boot a windows 10 PC directly to the Xbox interface and use it exactly as you would a console. My current train of thought is to get the S now for the 4k video stuff as well as access to my Xbox games and in 2-3 years build a PC for gaming.

I'd love to get one, but I'm not sure I can handle another console. I feel like I "made my choice" when I got a PS4 as a secondary system. It sure looks nice though, but I want a black one too.

What do you mean for updates and such?
No and yes. You need an Internet connection when you start the console for the first time. You can not play games until you did the setup with Internet connection. You need to download the patch before you can Xbox one games while being without a connection to the Internet

Probably if there's important updates.

Xbox One had to patch all the DRM crap they backtracked on so this will be different.

I'll be getting one for sure. I have two XB1 consoles at the moment so my plan is to trade one towards the XB1s and the other towards the Scorpio.

I wasn't planning on getting a 4K TV but this is a good excuse to upgrade.

Man, I don't know what it is about it but I want it so bad. I don't even touch my Xbox One but I love the design here and knowing that it plays UHD Blu-rays and with needing a player, I'll get it for that alone.

My entire AV setup is black but I think the white looks cool and will by eye catching putting it in the center. It also feels like a throwback to the 360 which I like.

Now if Gamestop would just offer a trade in deal. $100 as it stands right now is a big nope.

That circle aside, its a very nice looking box.

In black, that will be almost indistinguishable from the fat PS2

There's still no such thing as an offline profile on the One, you're still going to need to connect the S to the internet

I really like the updated design and color. I will be picking one of these up for the 4k media and blu ray support.

So how do you use the ir blaster if you do not have a Kinect? Headset controls? Controller? Wish they had a built in mic.

That is one beautiful looking console. Wish the vent wasn't that obvious somehow though, other than that, this is probably the prettiest looking xbox console so far (including all variants of the 360).
