Xbox One S : First Unboxing Geoff Keighley

I might get that controller for my PC. Good to know about the bluetooth stuff. Free up the PS4 and the old PS3 controller.

Waiting for black 1tb version.

I don't really like that bright blue Xbox light on front, that'd be annoying to the eyes in darkened room. I had a blu-ray player with one and had to put black tape over it. I'd prefer a soft white like the OG X1.

Is the SSD in the Elites Xbox really that much faster than my USB 3.0 HDD? Thinking of picking one up to replace day one console since my controller needs replacing anyway

MS, stick with this size going forward with your future consoles, thanks.

The only oversight of the console in regards to the 4K HDR is that MS should have added a second HDMI out port so those with home theater setups may don't have to upgrade their older receivers, as a lot of 2015 models didn't include HDCP 2.2 passthrough.

I'm still not sold on the console, but with them including BT in the controller makes it a must-buy. Also means that hopefully some creative dude will make it compatible with iOS/M-Fi. Woo!

If GameStop Australia is doing that I can see GameStop America doing something like $150-200 trading in a 500GB towards a S.
You mean EB. Australia is not blessed with having a Gamestop here.

Looks good. Finally good-sized hardware to go with a minimalist TV stand (+ no power brick clutter). Priced right. We'll see how much it bumps Xbox One sales.

Pre-ordered a 2TB from Amazon

Wanted a white X1 since the SO bundle...still, gonna be a pain in the ass to re-download everything :|

How easy is to "erase" my account and content from my current X1? Anything that i need to aware of?

Seeing that dusty original Xbox One sitting on top of the new, pristine Slim makes me cringe, but I guess he needed to do that.

I've seen the Slim in person, and touched it. The vent texture is quite interesting, and it's pretty beautiful.

The controller's grips aren't as pronounced as the ones on the SE controllers that we can currently buy, though they're kind of there. It's like they're etched into the plastic instead.

Definitely not as good.

Anyone else pre-ordered this with Amazon and had the release date changed?

Everywhere else says it comes out beginning of August, but Amazon.co.uk have emailed me to say they have amended my delivery date to 6th September!?

This console looks amazing ! Probably the best looking besides the PS4, which is starting to show age. I doubt they'll be a PS4 slim as it's already tiny. This Xbox One S though is marvelous, too bad Microsoft games don't do anything for me anymore or else this would be mine.

.

You won't need a creative dude making them compatible. The controller will be compatible with Android and iOS (10). Primarily for streaming from Xbox to your device. Will be announced later this year.

so the lesson learned here is wait for the second console revision and the third controller version before buying a microsoft console

UHD Blu Ray player for $299 is a great deal on it's own, and you also get an Xbox One for free!

I would be amazed if they don't make a concerted effort to push this to the AV market.

Absolutely adore the design, looks damn sexy. Like it way better than PS4 and obviously leaps and bounds better than the original box.
If I ever need an UHD BluRay player, this will be the one to get.

Looks like a great design. The size is great, I love the embellishments. I'd have liked two front USB ports but at least they have one now.

Looks great, love the internal power supply and the size.

This is the console I wish I had bought when I bought my Xbox One.

I wish someone would have locked down a quote from someone at MS about how loud they expect this version to be. The base Xbox One is dead silent is most cases, and it would be a shame is that is no longer true.

What a missed opportunity.

MS had the chance to standarize the Elite type buttin layout with the controller but didn't. Wouldn't cause many problems with the Elite because the charm of the controller lies in the build quality and customization options,

The device does look really nice. i like these revisions because they perfect features and lapsed adopters get the chance to enjoy a more polished product.

299, withouth an included game.

My goodness is that a beautiful console. Almost makes me wish I didn't just buy the Quantum Break bundle, almost. That being said, I have a burning question about the controller that I can't seem to find an answer to.

The current Xbox One controller is fantastic, but the "Home" button has always been a bit mushy. Has anyone here been able to get their hands on the controller? I'm buying one either way but I'm obsessed with knowing this beforehand!

Darn. I was hoping they would be, especially considering the design lab custom ones use the same design and will be $80

So people following that perspective would have waited 4 years to get into Xbox gaming? Kind of an extreme conclusion your making there just for the sake of being snide. I bought a day one edition, upgraded that to an Elite and I don't feel "ripped" off at all by either the S or the Scorpio.

Depends on the game in the testing I did with an off the shelf 5400 USB 3 external.

Not really enough though to warrant a purchase imho. If your day one still works you could just buy an elite controller rather than spend the extra cash.

it was snarky, but mostly just a funny observation that if you wait, you get the better controller for each Xbox generation.

I say this as someone that has 2 360s and bought all the special Halo controllers

Well that was misleading...

Wait...are you admitting that you're an alt account...?

You have the sam avi as d0hv

Thinking about selling my original Xbox One to pick one of these up. Have they talked about how the whole free kinect adapter thing works

I wish it had a microphone built into the console. I'd (probably maybe) buy one to replace my white xbox just so I can get rid of kinect but still have voice commands.

Seems odd to build in the IR blaster but not include a mic considering their push with cortana.

I'd accept an accessory mic - plug in via USB and have something discreet that I can put next to the xbox
