Yeah they improved the basic controller latency as well for this gen. This is great!
40% less latency at same frame rate... very impressive!
to be fair tho, the One X version had really high input latency for a 60fps title.
I mostly played it on PC but the times I played on Xbox I definitely felt an unusual high amount of latency for a 60fps shooter.
so great that they optimised it now.
Do you know if there's an explanation somewhere about why DS4 has lower latency compared to other controllers? Not sure if they caught up to the DS4 though as Sony had better input latency last-gen, even over BT (or especially over BT somehow.)
Gears and GTA5 and RDR2 are the only games I've noticed that on (likely because i can play them all on the PC too). All of them feel sluggish and unplayable on consoles to me. Nice to see numbers that backup this

If I'm not mistaken it was 10ms over BT or something like that. That's crazy.
Well, maybe how they are coded or something to do with the processor/HW inside the controller. I think "Mean input lag" is the total input lag.

RDR2 lag is by design, and actually one of the few games where it works really well (although some people will argue thats not great, and its fair).

Nicee, tested using my TV.
Series X getting better by the day hah

I highly doubt it was your TV. I think you would have noticed people in your home.
They could have reduce Xbox One input lag if they didn't force vsync on everything.
I think DF reported back in the day that Xbox One forces vsync on everything? It would explain input lag very well. 30 fps + vsync = literal hell.on Xbox One many also think that the OS (GameCore) adds latency if developers aren't properly optimizing their games. maybe they also reduced the inherent latency of the OS?
also they don't force v-sync on everything? wtf?
