I would rank them BKO>ToS>BK. In any case I would put ToS on par with Xeno, so clearly we both agree that the GC had RPG's that rivaled XenoBlade.
Really? I might enjoy this a ton then.

I'm conflicted, I want to wait for the price drop because I have other things to purchase at the moment but I fear that this game would get a limited press release. How good is this game exactly? Is it the full package?

Oh I forgot this was coming out in NA soon.

I would be interested to see GAF reaction. This is one of the most hyped and universally praised games I've seen on this forum. But it has some pacing problems I can see people (especially non-RPG people who bought into the hype) will have serious issues with.

Pre-ordered!

Can't wait to get my hands on this, just in time too - classes are almost done :).

Holy crap, I can't believe I am seven days away from finally playing this. :0

Also, just in time for me to finish up Kid Icarus and move most of gaming times towards this. I imagine this will be taking a lot of time that I should be using for studying away..... Not sure if that is a good or bad thing.
You still need to beat every stage on 10.0 and finish the treasure hunts :p

Double Dipping for the 3-Years-In-A-Row GOTY. Just finished the EU version via import in the Fall and totally ready to run through this again.

It's Reyn Time, as always.

It's very rare that I'm one of the guys that's played a game before most around me on GAF, but for all my NA Xenoblade virgins - you guys have no idea how awesome this game is. Definitely my favorite JRPG that I've played in a long time.

Pro-Tip: Try not to be overwhelmed by the excess amount of content to do & explore that Xenoblade throws at you, take your time and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere. I swear the vistas and music this game offer are so perfectly matched. I'm nearing the end of the game myself, coming up at about 100+ hours and I'll probably play through it again at some point.

While there is an extreme amount of hype behind this game, it certainly rivals any RPG that I have played this generation, of which I have played a fair amount. My only real knock against the game is the bloating in the quest system, it can cause players to get bogged down in doing sidequests in certain portions of the game to the point that it slows down the pace of the game significantly. On the plus side after you get through the early menial sidequests the mid and high tier sidequests are generally pretty damn cool. Basically though this is a must own for RPG fans. The amount of content and the quality of the game is impressive to say the least.

With regards to waiting for a price drop, since this is a GameStop exclusive I wouldn't count on it getting one. The shipment will be pretty damn small and any future shipment would probably hold the same price.

We'll see if this lives up to GAF hype.
I can't wait til next week.

You guys have hyped this to high heaven. So to say I'm expecting something great is an understatement.

I hope you guys are right.

I think i havent played a JRPG since...the Gamecube days.

Will be nice to play one again.
I wish I could be you guys... nothing can prepare what is coming, if you like just a bit of JRPG.

GOTY 2011 for me, by a very fair margin.

all this Kid Icarus talk is making me insane... I wish this game was available here in Brazil already :(

Still a long time; dozens of hours at minimum. You could probably blow through it in ~45-50 hours if you really, really wanted to, but once you start playing you won't want to.
Good stuff, I'm definitely going to take my time with it and try to do as much as I can since I won't have anything else to play. Well, there's witcher 2 for xbox but I already beat it for pc so it's all Xenoblade until D3 and Dragon's Dogma.

I think you would have to be absolutely blazing to do that though. Like no sidequests, no talking to people, no exploring etc. Avoiding any distractions in this game and only focusing on the main quest is probably pretty hard to do honestly. Its incredibly easy to sucked into wandering around and exploring the environments since they are so interesting.

It'll just be a small sampler art booklet. I wouldn't get too excited about it.
But hey, I guess you're paying $0 for it. So it's not like you could be disappointed or whatever.

I'm expecting this to be the JRPG of the generation, GAF. Many of have you have made it to be like so, as well as people from other sites. Well, Lost Odyssey and Vesperia are up there for me - let's see how Xenoblade will stack up.
"Best. Game. Ever. 11/10" - Ydahs

That's the only review you're going to need. Seriously.

I expected the game to be good, but I was blown away with just how good it was. Fantastic storyline, amazing art, wonderful music, likeable characters and most importantly, it felt complete. No crappy DLC, no expansion packs. It's packed with a ton of content and it's all there from the start.

Yeah, the game does a magnificent job of allowing you to get lost in the world. You'd have to be soulless to just run from checkpoint to checkpoint.

Shouldn't this be OT2?
Eh, the Japanese and EU/AUS ones were both OTs, and both are in community. I thought just a plain OT would be sufficient.

Doesn't matter. I love artbook schwag with my purchases.
Especially for THIS GAME.
If there exists a more extensive artbook for this game someone please tell me about it.
Monado Archives (ISBN 9784048702003) is the "real" Xenoblade artbook. It's only available in Japanese and French, and the French edition is quite rare and was never for sale.

Thought it was a great game; not perfect and had a few issues, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Hope you guys enjoy it, but try not to let hype get to you! :D

For anyone that didn't already know, Xenoblade has last year's game soundtrack of the year. It'd probably have a good shot at this year's award, too, if we didn't decide to keep it from being eligible again :p
Oh good. I was wondering what you were going to do with it this year. It's kinda weird since it would have been eligible for three years had it been included in this year's vote too.

Man God said:
If you disqualify it KI:U will just win.
What a great soundtrack. :3

Only if handhelds are excluded.

Yep. My favourite Nintendo RPG, hands-down.

JRPG of the Generation and one of the best games in general available on the Wii. Excited to double dip on the US version finally. Actually have 2 copies preordered, one for my sister and one for myself.

Have a good 130 hours or so logged on my import Euro copy, so I'm probably not even going to play my US version. It's purely just "to have."
