Yeah, the skimpy swimsuit thing is understandable as that's something that would legitimately turn off people from the game who would otherwise be interested, but removing the bust slider is a little much. There's a line between discouraging excessive sexual objectification in female character designs and implicitly shaming/excluding big breasted or otherwise conventionally attractive women, and that crosses it.

I'm ok with this. Having a bust slider is really weird when you think about it. You don't have a dick slider for guys. Let's focus on a great story with interesting characters and not on the female's tit size.

If this were a more detailed character creation system it would be a non-issue. I think the context is what's important here. You can only adjust 3 things, one of them is breast size. I have to believe you can recognize that is sending a message about how the female body is perceived.

The "recreating Lin" excuse kinda makes no sense. What is there about removing the breast slider that prevents someone from making Lin? Lin doesn't exactly have giant boobs and you still have a height slider. So I'm not really understanding the point people are making with that one.

That being said, I don't mind it not being there. Although it sucks for people who would've wanted a female avatar with a smaller chest.

Just why Nintendo? What's the point of removing a character creator feature? I would've preferred to see a change in every single costume instead of just removing an actual feature of the game.

Exactly. I was getting so much crap when I pointed out with the previous incidents that no one should support this sort of precedence. That censorship doesn't just neatly stay in line, and only take out what seems justifiable to remove. That it all felt like 90s treatment. I was apparently "paranoid", "unreasonable " and some probably thought I was on some stupid waifu crusade.

They're able to change their hair color, skin complexion, eye color/shape etc. Although you select your face from presets, so there's no indepth options there.

Downplay it all you want, that's exactly why Beth Cyra is complaining. There was an option, there is now no option. And that option was of relative importance to her.
Being critical in one way or another about the missing slider is one thing, patronizing another person is another.
That being said, I don't really care anymore. I'm more worried about future localizations.
