Bony, please :-D

How come I'm running into Yokai that have the green FS logo in Bony Spirits? My Hungramps has that icon as did some enemies I fought.

Can you only get one Moon Excitement coin so far? I wanted Dracunyan really bad but the one Moon Excitement coin i got gave me a stupid EXPorb.

There are two codes out there for each of the Excitement coins. You can get Dracunyan from other Excitement coins though.

Also it seems that dailies are actually resetting only at 6 AM like they're supposed to for me now. Now I'm really curious as to what the hell caused them to reset at midnight for me last night on both my files. What a weird bug.

Help me out, fam. Where's the codes for the Moon Excitement coin. I NEEEED Dracunyan.

妖怪ウォッチ2 わくわくコイン

^Just google that until you find all the codes. Too tired to find them myself right now, sorry.

So is there a guide out there for the good competitive Yokai? I know Silamander is good, but I figure I should start thinking about this now when Im nowhere near completing the game.

Yokai Watch 2 is frankly pretty intimidating with how open it is right from the get-go, like having the whole town ready right from the start and a constant stream of sidequests opening up sort of freaks me out. Right now though I'm focusing on the story to get the Model Zero since that'll help recruit Yokai easier by showing their food choices, right?

You can catch Yo-Kai of both factions in each version. Aside from specific exceptions, it has nothing to do with what game you have.

Does it effect anything though, or is there just an added layer of collecting by going for a complete set of Yokai from both factions?

There's a pair of equip-able items that do more damage to either faction. Also you only need to upgrade the watch to rank D to see what food they like in battle.

It depends, sometimes it's 3 or sometimes it's 5 or more. I think holidays also factor in as well but I'm not sure.

Cool. I am sitting on tons of coins, lol. All these codes. My current team is Lie-IN Heart, Shad. VEnoct, Jibanyan, Roughraff, Uber Geeko, and Damona. Really want Robonyan and Goldenyan. I like those cats!

Goldenyan is amazing as a defense wall and buffer. I'm surprised how strong Kingmera is, his Voltage is strong and he's wicked fast.

Thanks, brother <3

I'm five hours in now, and boy - these opening hours are a fog of sticky molasses, coasting by on the lovingly detailed world that has been keeping my attention engaged despite the truly painful pacing issues.

This is of course because I played through the first game less than a year ago, so all of these repeated mechanics that must be explained to new players are particularly dull - all of the information I'm getting is still fresh in my mind.

The amount of needless running from point A to point B only to be immediately sent to point C to then be asked to return to point A is a grinding cycle. I've become more adept at maxing the juice from my stamina gauge, taking my finger off the run button just as soon as my meter is about to fully deplete to shave off precious seconds of all this running around tarnation, than I have become at anything else.

Thankfully I now have Mirapo's warp points, and I'm hopeful I'm finally edging toward the end of this onslaught of chatty and constant tutorials.

No regrets with my purchase of course - I'm still quite in love with the Yo-Kai universe, and adore the way the series leans on the lore of how these creatures interfere with the human world. And the amount of polish, even amidst all of these pacing and fetch-quest issues, still astounds me.

I'm just ready for the game to finally start opening up with fresh content!

I'm not enjoying this game that much. It's strange, I enjoyed YK1 despite all of its major issues, but I'm just losing all patience with 2. And now I'm stuck in some horrific area where you have to kick a goddamn can into a spot to proceed. Fuck this. I think I'm gonna abandon all this shit and literally just run straight through the story so I can finish this game/be done with the series.

I'm probably being overly dramatic right now cuz this kick the can is bullshit and stupid, but like I said, I haven't enjoyed this game very much at all. Pokemon Sun and Moon can't come out soon enough

You'll be glad to know once you get out of that room thats the last of it.

Considering the comments about recycled content in reviews, does this game actually retell YW1's story or is the recycled content referenced just locations and assets?

I'm only about 10 hours in but a good chunk of locations are reused and the first maybe 4 hours seem like a condensed version of a bunch of quests and information in the first 15 or so hours of YW1.

It's kinda like a Yokai Watch+ rather than 2.
Or like YW1 was just a fleshy tech demo or something cause this is obviously the better game.

Any other issues aside from the can, maybe I can help.

In none of my playthroughs of 2 did I ever have to kick a can into a specific spot and I put hundreds of hours into the Japanese versions. How'd you even get into such a place?

He's having trouble with recruiting yokai if I remember, though it was much worse than it is now but I feel maybe the insane recruit rates from the first game has worn out his patience for this one. Took me like 6 hours to recruit sandi in the first game.

You aren't doing the magic door quests in the museum?
Nah, it's an optional post-game boss (unless you grind your team to level 60-ish before the post-game for some reason) with a reward that just isn't worth the time sink unless you're going for 100%.

I don't recommend doing most sidequests until the post-game TBH. You'll be able to just breeze through them then. If you need to level up before then and have the C-rank watch just go in front of the toilets in the Jumbo Slider, find a tree with the Yo-Kai there in view,, and keep on looking at the tree and backing out until the Yo-Kai changes into a Daiz. Battle it for about 2K exp. Go wait on the south stairs for a little bit until that Yo-Kai respawns, and then go check the trees again. Just keep on doing that and you'll level up pretty quickly.

Hm... My interest in the first game was hurt because I didn't like how they localized the Yo-Kai's names. So, I could basically start from here without missing much? I guess that makes me more likely to get it now.

I'm not a fan of some of the names either, its even worse when you flip through the random nick names for the monsters and see that they have better choices in those.

Yeah. The sequel makes the first game pretty much completely redundant.
Very little reason to ever go back.

Slimamander GET! Took way too many resets. Not nearly as many as it did for me in the Japanese version though.

Anyone willing to help me put it on my Fleshy Souls file? Don't wanna screw up that game's dailies yet, which will happen if I just use one of my other 3DSes instead of my 2DS.

Ugh Ben Tover is a terrible name. Just going to nickname him Slazy, at least its better and actually explains what the yokai is about.

I dunno who that Yokai is but I'm guessing the name is a play on bent over. Which is, um, amusing to say the least.

What's this about?

So how do the alternate Soultimate moves for Jibanyan work? Is it like a TM where it deletes the one he has now or more of a hold item that changes the move? I like Paws of Fury so I'd rather not lose it forever.

After you do the Slimamander quest, the next day you can save in front of it and just keep fighting it over and over until it decides to join you. It can either go very quickly or take hours. Thanks, RNG.

As for dailies, putting the game in another 3DS apparently screws up the dailies like gacha for a couple days so *shrugs*

I plan on getting this game later this week. I enjoyed the heck out of YW1 but it did have its flaws but it seems this game has at least addressed them. I'm mostly worried about fetch quests which is what burned me out on the first one.

Its a slender body yokai, his japanese name is norarikurari, which is a phrase for people who are lazy and make excuses to escape responsibility. His art just shows him kind of bent over. But its dumb because that has nothing to do with him or what he does just his art pose.
