You heard it here first, folks - SONIC MUSOU

Sonic Shuffle was great. One of my favourite DC games.

There was a good game hidden in there somewhere, but the load times were absolutely AWFUL, and totally ruined the game. If they ever re-release it in some compilation, it will probably fare much better.

Plus the CG intro was beautiful for the time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRFYUG-mrBQ

It certainly was the most competent Mario Party Ripoff anyone has ever made, purely because Hudson themselves made it.

So many Sonic games in development right now.

And yet....there are no real Sonic games in development right now.

Yeah, whatever.

Keep pimping your hedgehog out to competent developers, Sega.

The load times were the worst part of the game and added to the already slow pacing of the game itself, agreed.

ah, I didn't even know Hudson made it, I just thought it was a 1:1 MP carbon copy made by some dev. :lol The game was ace, good mini-games, great music, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

this thread isn't locked yet?? :lol
No, its to be kept open for August 1st, when JamesE is either hailed as a hero (Well, as heroic as you can be called, for breaking such a gem as Sonic Musou), or fired for life from the pit that is Neogaf, exciting stuff :-)

After last year's Sonic X360/PS3 debut, I don't think Sega'd be working on another Sonic just yet - maybe Sonic Team are getting bored of just doing Sonic and would prefer doing other things? So they're working on Nights Journey of Dreams. Well if Nights bombs (no way, it's on the Wii!!), they may go back to Sonic derivatives, maybe Shadow the Hedgehog 2 (please? 1+ million units in the bank!)

I have yet to understand what mosou means. :(
'Musou' the word means 'unrivaled'.

'Musou' in a gaming context refers to the collective series of games that Koei produces under the names Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, Warriors Orochi, and Gundam Dynasty internationally.

Thanks for clearing that up segata. Not too familiar with dynasty warriors, but I am interested in how this turns out.

I could imagine such a thing working for Gundam, and I could imagine BioWare making a good RPG for Sonic...but Sonic the MUSOU Hedgehog?

I mean, really...90% of the Sonic cast doesn't even rely on the usage of weapons! And only two really focus on something akin to hand-to-hand-combat. A MUSOU game that pretty much involved chain combos relying on how much you could spin dash and jump on things would be pretty lame, imo...

But what the hell, I'm open to practically any thing at this point. Let's see the My Way Entertainment guys (It's the Juggernaut *****!!!) take over voice acting for the series! Chances are, any effort they would add to a title would probably be better than 4Kids, Ryan Drummond's crew and even Jaleel White and co's efforts all put together! :lol :lol

Knux: This should qualify me for the dream team, ***** GANGSTA!!!

"I wouldn't want to go into a cabbage field with a big knife or a scythe or something and just start cutting down thousands and thousands of heads of cabbage. That's not something I would find fun. I do think there are probably some people out there who want that kind of experience when playing a game. That's why, when it comes down to the number of enemies on-screen, I'd rather have good enemies than just a lot of enemies. That's why I don't buy into the philosophy of, "Look! We have a thousand heads of cabbage on screen at once, isn't this great?!"

Devil May Cry Musou!

Actually a DMC musou where you take on hundreds of demons as Dante/Virgil/Lady/Trin, etc... with all their DMC movelists...

...would be really awesome.

Yeeeeaaaahhh... no.

Aside from that, however, yes, it totally would. They should have just made a mode in DMC3:SE where Hells spawned endlessly and it was your job to beat them up and survive for as long as you could.

A level in DMC 4 like this would be better. Like the next to the last level. In order to get to the main antagonists fortress you must plow through a field of demons. It would break up the monotony of the gameplay and be an excellent showcase of what a next gen DMC could be. An entire game like this just wouldn't fly... I'm lookin' at you Demon Kings.

Well they already did it on PS2 with KH2, so the PS3 should be able to do it just fine ;P

Sonic Rush Adventure?

Sonic Rush is an interesting alternative to the 'Sonic the Hedgehog' game series, but is by no means the next 'true' Sonic game.

The two series are just too different to be considered the same.

Not a rag on Rush, though. It's a great game in it's own right.
