Edit: This game is crossbuy, so if you buy one version you get them all. This thread is basically a heads up to not waste your time with the Vita version as it's a mess apparently. And if you're a Vita-only owner, it's important to know. And yes they exist! ;P
So I was hearing for a minute now that the Vita version of Helldivers was kind of rough (understatement), but now some of the folk reviewing the game are confirming it's really rough. Probably you should skip and get the PS4 version if you have access rough.
Given the game's focus on coop play too, the types of ways in which the Vita version is rough make it extra avoidable.

Basically the review got 3/5 on VGNetwork because the Vita version is complete shit, and Scanna wanted to clarify that he would rate the PS4 version much better.
Hanmik asked Scanna if he had the same bad experience he did, to which Scanna replied:

When I responded thanks for the heads up, Hanmik expanded:

So basically on Vita:
● Framerate goes to complete shit at least 50% of the time in a 4 player game... to the point where Hanmik thought his Vita was broken. And this is a game heavily dependent on seeing its hardest content with other players. It's a single player game too, but it comes into its own when you have your other players. It's core to the game design.
● Shadows and objects look markedly worse on Vita. Expected, but for completeness sake.
● Reload/Throw Grenade is done by swiping down on touchscreen, and is an abominable mess that barely functions as an option in hectic gunfights. And grenades are an important part of life in this game.
● Missing Precision Shot Tutorial
● Talking to others, framerate is pretty much significantly worse than other versions at all time.
So, friendly heads up GAF. Developers are not going to tell us ahead of time and for obvious reasons, so at least now if you go for the Vita version you're informed.

Scanna said:I want to clarify, beino the author of the VGNetwork review, that the 3/5 you see is actually a mistake, cause it's the grade for the PS vita version of the game, which really sucks. Something got lost in communication between me and the video editor, he must have only looked at the vita grade to create the video. Sorry, everyone, can OP edit the grade somehow?

Scanna said:Awful, unfortunately. It's really telling that they skipped the precision shot section of the tutorial...

Hanmik said:As a coop multiplayer game it is really fun and challenging.. as a singleplayer game it is a boring grind.
Vita version has some problems:
- Longer loadtimes.
- Shadows and some objects look terrible.
- Reload and throwing Grenades are done by swipping Down on the touchscreen on the back of the Vita. That is terrible in a hectic firefight.. terrible.. Grenades get thrown at other players feet and it is hard to reload instantly.

Hanmik said:I almost forgot..I joined several games on my Vita where there was 3 other players, the framerate went to shit.. for real I thought there was a problem with my Vita. It was like playing the game in slow motion. As soon as one player was dead the framerate was better, but once all 4 players were back, the framerate went to shit again.
It wasn´t like that all the time, but like 50% of the games I played on the Vita.
