I was originally going to try and pull off El Santo (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=443708), and I still may as a 2nd costume considering I've already purchased a mask and cape, but due to losing a bet last week regarding the Steelers/Texans game where the winner dictates the losers costume... I have to go in a different direction for my main costume.

I knew my friend was a douchebag so I was expecting the worst, but I didn't think he'd choose something as tasteless as Casey Anthony. We've already purchased a Casey Anthony latex mask from Ebay for 25 bucks(http://www.ebay.com/itm/CASEY-ANTHO...ultDomain_0&hash=item2a14af5daa#ht_500wt_1202). He wants me to wear the latex mask, do it in whiteface/paint my skin white since I'm brown skinned, wear a prison jump suit, have a baby sling with a bloodied baby doll in it and hold a cardboard sign saying "Have you seen my child?"

I'm not looking forward to this, especially considering Santa Cruz has a huge anti-abortion group that physically protests the planned parenthood next to me, especially on Halloween for some reason. We're also going to a few Halloween parties on Halloween weekend, so I'm probably not going to be all that popular lol....

So besides the fact the fact that I'm fucked, what are your Halloween ideas for this year?

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.
I am going cheap this year because I get married the week after Halloween and we are paying for the entire shabang.

My go to cheap costume is to dress up in wrapping paper and hang a tag on my chest that reads To: Women From: God

Im going as a Ghostbusters, and not a particularly cheap one either. Have custom patches. Currently painting my proton pack shell. Getting excited.

You're going to be on the news, I can already tell.

My friends want to go as the Avengers, or just random Marvel heroes. I got lucky, and was given Wolverine. Just need the wig, a thrift store leather jacket, and maybe some claws.

Not screen accurate, but its still going to look nice. Some issues with the resin, but whatever, its for Halloween.

My favorite holiday!

I'll be going as a mummy. I have jewelry that could work as Egyptian style, so I thought I'd like to try it out this year. I rather like dressing up as traditional monsters rather than doing something strange or current events related. Though last year I dressed up as a fairy (more like Glinda the Good Witch than Tinkerbell.) Never doing that again, the wings were heavy and a pain when walking through doors.

I really want to dress up as Number 6 from The Prisoner. It wouldn't be a hard costume to put together, either. But I have no occasion to dress up anymore :/

Ghostbusters is always a very good choice. I went as a GB three times-- first year with a Proton Pack, the 2nd year with a Slime Blower, and a third year with a partner.

For the girls:

American McGee's Alice -
(you can match it off with some cheap zebra leggings and some black boots, its really easy but they aren't included) . Should be able to find for around 40-50 USD

Tomb Raider -
(doesn't include shoes/socks or wig, probably gonna wanna DIY anyway, easy as pie). Should be able to find lower than this, but just a quick google is $75 USD. Well worth it IMO

For the dudes:

Aladdin is always pretty good.. but get the street rat one unless you wanna look like this

Yes that Ghostbusters one is pretty good too.

For those looking to really go all out. Any Zombie costume, cover yourself in Vaseline afterwards (serious). No you can't sit down or drive afterward but nothing gives a Zombie that life(dead) like quality like slime! Plus if anyone pats you on the back or touches your arm they get a real nice "eeewww" reaction.

Wearing a football jersey without pads makes you look really skinny.

With pads really smelly. Its never a good choice.

Awesome. I don't have the time or money for an awesome pack and parts, but it'll be good enough for this year. Had all sorts of issues, including the dremel not working, so I just made what I could really. GBFans sticklers would cry, but people will get the idea.

I just wanted to reply and say I'm going as a goddamn Ghostbuster too. I only need the light kit to arrive and then I'm going to start my build. I have the PKE meter from Matty and will be getting the trap this year as well to complete the outfit.

Fuck. I didn't know so many people had full movie quality Ghostbuster outfits. I'm attending a Halloween costume contest at a local casino and I'll be pretty bummed if I see another Ghostbuster like mine. I was hoping the pack with lights and sound would make me a shoe in for 1-3rd place!

I just went with the cheap zombie idea. Done it two years in a row now just because its so easy and tends to get cool reactions. Went to a party Friday night where everyone had to come dressed as a "C" costume, so corpse worked just fine. Don't have any good pics, but here's a fairly crappy one. You can't really appreciate/see the liquid latex wounds I made, but it gets the idea across. The brown looking thing on the right side of my face is actually a gaping hole, on the left cheek is another gash, and the neck is silt as well

Mine isn't even close to movie quality hah. Its better than a blow-up pack though!

Wish I actually had a reason to dress up. There is a Halloween party available to me through my best friend, but all the people there grew up together from elementary school except for me. Plus I don't drink so it's always awkward. Plus I'd rather not see said best friend making out with some random douche bag because she drank too much.

If I was going to get a costume though it would end up being some video game character no one has ever heard of like every other year.

That or a plague doctor.

my kids bought me a general greivious mask for my b-day (we let them pick out their gifts, leads to some silly gifts). So I'll put on a suit and be General Consul Grevious.

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.
If I had the money and time I would totally go as Guy on a Buffalo.

Man, now I really want to go as this.

Then if she remembered it she'd probably never talk to me again. I'd rather be friendzoned then get to make out with her once.

But anywho, them Halloween costumes eh?

Have an idea of going as Harry from the Deathly Hallows pt. 2 movie. Would actually go as Hogwarts Harry, but I don't feel like dropping $250 on the replica robe and sweater.

I've got most of the clothes, just need: temporary scar tattoo, a wand and just basically look dirty and beat up.

Simple and effective.

Dr. Horrible - assuming the stuff I ordered online doesn't end up being total crap. If so, then I'll go with Zombie Steve Jobs.

Thinking about going as Scruffy. Seems easy enough and nobody will recognize him so it'll fit right in with his schtick on the show.

I haven't really thought about it, actually. I haven't been invited to any Halloween parties *sobs*, so I'm not actually serious about it. Though, we are allowed to wear costumes at work.

My easy pick:

boba_fett_hoodie.jpg

I already own it. Probably not a good idea to wear the hood closed all day, though lol.

Otherwise, I have no idea. I'm thinking Steve Jobs, but that's probably too soon, and could be (or is?) in poor taste. I don't wanna be a dick.
