Fuck the trained pilot, fuck the precise controls needed to manuver a big ass starship.

It's hard to believe Frakes directed this AND "First Contact" because "First Contact" was actually decent and "Insurrection" was totally phoned in. I consider this scene basically him saying, "woo hoo! look at me! I'm the director!"

He's condemned to continue living in hell.
Nothing's changed, his glance in his rearview mirror when we last see him confirms this.
He will continue to exist and for as long as he does so he will continue to suffer.
I'm not sure if this is 'Hollywood' as it's not as if he gets the girl and they live happily ever after or anything.....

Well it wasn't but still the movie probably was really insane, and awesome in the 70's but the gun scene was sooo over the top... it just was a little chessy that's all. Guess my ecpectations where too high... I heard alll the praise the movie got over the years... the ending just didn't set with me too good... :/

Inside (À l'intérieur) -

the scene when the woman
cuts sarah's stomach open to take her baby out

most of Inside qualifies though that scene above is really unacceptable.

Regarding the ending there's a theory which has been banded about throughout that years that Travis died in the shootout and the conclusion where he finally gains acceptance from society is a dream....... but the less said about that the better I think!

A lot of 70's and particularly 80's cinema can seem extremely cheesy today if you're not accustomed so don't worry. Taxi Driver after all is rather dated in many respects :)

There's some confusion here between cringe-inducing and wince-inducing. Cringe-inducing moments for me tend to be extremely embarrassing scenes in films, or when it's just a shit film. Wince-inducing, however, would be any violence towards women in films. In fact I really don't care for it if it's too realistic, such as in The Killer Inside Me. I find it too repulsive.

I don't like sand. It's rough and it gets everywhere. It's not smooth like you. (or something like that. that entire "love" sequence was super shitty.)

All scenes involving Peter Parker using the venom suit killed me a little inside. It was so embarrassing sitting in that theater watching this peter parker shit.

It was meant to be embarrassing. It amazes me that people think the Spidey 3 "emo Parker" was meant to be taken seriously. It was meant to show Parker became such a gigantic douchebag who thinks he is cool, but really, he isn't. We're supposed to feel embarrassed for him because he can't see how much of a loser he is.

Cringe-inducing, embarassment:

Delta Force (1986), with Chuck Norris.

The whole sequence when Arab terrorists hijack a plane and order the German flight attendant to 'point out the Jews' on the manifest, to which she replies "But I'm German, 6 million Jews died in WWII, I will NOT DO THIS..." etc etc. So bad.

Kinda felt sorry for Chuck, his role being completely secondary to the agenda at play in that piece of garbage movie.

Cringe-inducing, discomfort:

The sound of teeth against a curb before the stomp in American History X.

The entirety of My Cousin Vinny. Got douche chills the entire time. Shit has not aged well.

I still like it.

My answer:

No this isn't a "Ugh, so bad I cringed" joke, although, yeah... I did have a lot of problems with the movie. That said, one scene was done very well and had be squirming.

The alien abortion scene. Say what you will about the rest, but that scene was horror worthy of the first two Alien movies. Felt so visceral.

Also, Kill Bill Vol. 2. What happens directly after this shot.

Gore scenes dont get me that bad. Its the scenes where youre embarrassed for the main character that gets me. Happens alot in rom coms and judd apatow movies.

Gangster No. 1, Bye Bye Lenny scene

Probably my favorite torture scene ever. Just because of how it was directed and not gory at all either. Perfect build up, perfect acting, perfect script and cinematography especially camera work, and perfect song to go with it. It defines cringe inducing without resorting to a bunch of gore.

The Part in Jackass the Movie where they give each other papercuts with the manila envelopes....

Ugh even this image is making me cringe thinking about it.

The scene in Dark Knight Rises where

I cringed seeing that and a few people around me laughed. So terrible. An important scene ruined by terrible acting. Surely Nolan could've gotten a better performance out of her?

Nolan clearly gave up on that movie partway through.

Though the beginning of the film is one of the best things I've ever seen and Tom Hardy's dialogue delivery at the beginning is very good.

You're supposed to feel embarrassed for Spider-man, not yourself for having to watch the scene. That's why it's bad.

yeah, this would be mine, very nsfw. everything about this scene is cringe worthy, the part where he gets his arm broken then is about to be raped, then the beating of the guys face in. It's just so fucking brutal, and done with such realism. The camera work and sound editing is also quite spot on.

This is also probably the most violent movie I've ever seen.

The rape scenes in the first few minutes of the death wish movies. I love the action in the movies and I understand the scenes were made with so much detail to get you as angry as Charles bronson but still....

Many, many scenes is Truands (2008)

I 'll just say the scene of this shot is far from being the worst of the entire movie.

not a movie but close enough
the
finger dismember
scene in Heavy Rain
you already know what it is if you've played it

if specifically movie, then that one scene from 127 hours

edit: some kind of self mutilation theme going

...what the fuck?

I feel like I need to watch this.

Doesn't help that the film (and in particular the mirror scene) has been parodied 'till global fucking saturation.

Lots of stuff in Romper Stomper. Fuck that movie. Before this, I had never watched a film where I wanted ALL of the main characters to die after the first 20 minutes...

Also, lots of good suggestions in this thread, like Black Swan, Amercian History X, Splice (I had erased this movie from my memory)...

Edit: I just remembered a movie that made me cringe several times: Sheitan. It's just sick.

lol he was an ass the whole movie... deserved....

Still, watching your brother being beaten to almost-death while being totally helpless must be total hell.

That scene is really hard for me to watch being really close to my brother.

That scene with Jar Jar Binks where he is leading the Jedi to a lake and then he jumps like 10 feet straight into the air from a stand still and does like 3 flips in the air and lands in the water.

Yeah and every other scene with him.
