It was hype but it also poorly represented the actual game. So a well-edited trailer with good music won't have the same effect on me this time. It'll depend on the content and features revealed by the trailer.

And also, since we've known for a long time that they're using the same map for TOTK, what were your expectations for the sequel? A return to traditional Zelda design (Dungeons, etc)?

I wonder how much COVID had an impact on development (I know it's annoying to hear that, trust me). Meaning, could this have been a 4-year game under normal circumstances? Because I agree that 6 years is a long time to re-use the same map, from what they've shown. If COVID wasn't a factor, then we should expect a bunch of new content or some major surprises.

Exactly. Even if they made a whole new map, just the usage of the same engine would reduce development considerably. Think Majora's Mask for example. Even with COVID it doesnt make all that much sense to me. I believe there are some key things we are not seeing yet.

no it looks like BOTW dlc and i just want to play it no footage esp running on a switch can make it look good when people have emulators that run botw in 21:9 at 60hz in 3k

Hype trailer. Completely misled us. All the hype was memories. I hope tomorrows trailer will be like this but is actually representative of the game where the cutscenes are happening as you play, and you get to experience gameplay within the contents of those awsome cutscenes.
That was the biggest downfall of Breath Of The Wild.

I loved botw. For the second question tho, im not really sure, but everything they showed so far felt a bit underwhelming given how much time they took to make this game

I don't think there will be a playable Zelda. I thought maybe you select at the start who dies and who lives, but then if Zelda talks to like in the trailer, if he dies, would he grunt to her? ha, I dunno. I feel like Nintendo doesn't want to make Zelda playable in TLoZ, it'll prob be her own game.

Like I said, I'm literally playing through in 4k 60+ right now, I think those screenshots look good, and the filters people usually throw over BoTW make it look worse than the low resolution does.

consider that botw already had an atypical dev cycle, meaning that debugging and balancing was made in house by stopping development periodically just to allow everyone to play the game to completion and take notes.
not saying that they shouldn't have more to show after so many years, but i can see nintendo giving aonuma all the time in the world to refine the new zelda in a similiar fashion

They’re universally praised for that reason. As much as I hate the Adventure of Link, Majora’s Mask (like 3DS version & hate N64 version), Four Swords, Four Swords Adventures, Oracle Ages & Seasons, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, & TriForce Heroes. Someone else will come in here and tell us we’re both wrong and that they are awesome games. For example I love Skyward Sword and think it’s amazing but not their best effort imo…

Yeah it’s my number 5 on 3D list. As far as Oracles…I can’t stomach the gameboy color graphics very well, I’d love them to get redone in Link’s Awakening style or Minish Cap style.
