The Last of Us: Remastered |OT| Game of the Years

That is a very noticeable difference. 60FPS one though still has better shadows than the PS3, which was expected. Shadows are no biggie to me though so I was going to stick with 60FPS anyway.

Thats a pretty noticeable difference. However, no near enough to give up 60fps for.

Yep it is definitely a significant difference! It will be good for photo mode but when playing the game I won't really notice the worse shadows at 60 fps.

Friend sent me an example over PSN, he got his hands on the copy early, but you can see the difference.

Nice upgrade, but not even nearly close to enough to make me drop 60. It's also worth noting that at 60 the shadow will have double the temporal resolution though.

In the grand scheme of things, I can see why that quality was added for the day 1 patch. They probably couldn't get it to run at 60fps at the consistency they wanted with those shadows this close to launch, and thus, just made em for the 30fps version.

I'll play on 60fps first, then second playthrough on 30.

Can't believe we (UK people) have to wait until the 1st :< I want it nowwww!

Think I'm gonna have to go 30fps on this one. I'll notice it too much now, and I'll take the performance drop for a graphical improvement most of the time anyways.

Put it back to 30fps for photo mode screeshots for sharper shadows and while the game's in motion the 60fps would be simply glorious. Smoother game in motion and sharper game in standstill! 30fps+60fps happily married since The Last of Us: Remastered Edition!

We're making this a much bigger deal than it needs to be. I think it's clear most of us here would prefer the 60 FPS over improved 30 FPS with improved shadows.

Definitely not worth it. Staying with 60 since it actually affects gameplay more for the better.

For those playing at 30 just based on shadows, at least try 60FPS first.

Went into Gamestop today and got $28 each for Infamous and BF4, totally paid off this game! Good deal.

I'm probably going to lock it at 30 right from the get-go. I really don't have a problem with 30fps games, especially in single player so I'll take that extra shadow quality. The horrible, fuzzie, flickering shadows of the PS3 version was one of my biggest complaints. Besides, the low res ones really stand out against how clean everything else looks.

for a second I thought you were trying to compare 30fps with 60fps by posting pictures ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I prefer the more soft falloff of the 60fps version. It fits better with the rest of the compositions features. In this particular shot at least.

There's no way I would personally trade 60fps for 30fps just for some higher res shadows. If the edges were filtered it would soften the blow though.
