I'm not sure I understand, each character has two unique abilities or only has two abilities?
He's probably referring to Talent Arts, where each character/enemy only has one, except for Zanza.

What drove me through Xenoblade was the story, not the oodles upon oodles of side/grind quests.

I loved everything about Xenoblade (I'm one of those weird guys that really liked doing all the sidequests), but if the story and the characters weren't there I wouldn't even bother playing it.

Monolith Soft is known for long movies. I for one am not docking off points because of that! Just means a dense story.
