Sestuna did slightly better than what I expected.

Those are some truly awful numbers for Street Fighter.

Expect more awful retail numbers worldwide, it did badly in the U.K. too. It's what happens when you prioritized competitive players over casuals, releasing a game lacking single player modes experience backfired in order to get the game out game out in time for tournaments.

I know you are sarcastic, but seriusly comment, Mario Maker is low because of Wii U stock problem, when the things will back to normal, Mario Maker will get a nice boost.

Same for Splatoon, even if has not a bundle, almost all new Wii U consumers buy Splatoon.

EDIT: That said, i think i'm gone with Splatoon, even if it will stop selling since now, my prediction will still remain the most accurate ever :p

# The dark Splatoon messiah
Mario Maker went up likely because of minor restocks. Next week, it should go up again, as well as Wii U hardware. Splatoon should remain flat or go up next week. If it doesn't, then we truly have Splatdoom... ;)

Do you think Pokken will outperform it?

Yes. 2 to 3 times.

Other than that, hardware was pretty mediocre overall. 3ds continues its descent, while Vita only got a moderate bump for Kancolle. Best not to mention Wii U, but ps4 has had a nice baseline so far this year. Let's see if it can have some 40k+ weeks like last year with upcoming releases like Dark Souls III and Star Ocean 5.

3DS will be up a lot next week, this slide is over the new hardware.

Splatdoom at 1.26 million retail... really doom. :)

I doubt SFV bomb has anything to do with its beta status. Surely lack of single player content will hurt the game, especially from the casual player, but that will be effective days after launch and more in the long run, not right in the first week, nobody knows/expect this beforehand.

I believe it's more about PS4 tiny userbase + dead console market in japan + dead fighting genre in general. You can say Capcom did a bad job launching this for sure, but I doubt with full year roster + all modes available it will sale much more than this. I mean it only sold 80k on 10M PS4 user base.

With SFV bomba sales, does this mean no more SF6?

They'll release a SF collection, with fewer features than the last Sf collection, and drop massive hints that all the sales of this collection will heavily influence the chance of getting a new SF. Then they won't make a new SF.

It appeared to be a randomly generated dungeon f2p game, so I wouldn't be shocked if it was a pretty cheap title in the grand scheme of console games.

I don't think so.

My theory is Ono fucked up with Deep Down budget and Capcom said him: "if you want a new Street Fighter, look for someone with money".

Lost Reavers is and looks like a cheap dungeon f2p, Deep Down no.

SFV has no arcade version and KanColle does. The poor sales are just divine retribution for ignore the best 'platform'. Good!

I can see the PR now, "People don't want Street Fighter anymore, so no more Street Fighter....."

...a week later, they announce SUPER Street Fighter V.

Edit: Wow at the discrepancy in Monster Strike, over 100K difference between trackers.

The good thing with Fates is that as a million seller Nintendo will give Japan/West split and we'll have an estimate of what the third version sold in Japan.

Anyone knows what's the deal with Pokemon lately?

Pokemon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire started charting again and even Pokemon Rumble World is back.

I have a question regarding this, does Famitsu count the Double Pack as a different SKU? If not, there is an answer to your question. At least on Rakuten, don't know if Amazon or other retailers, the Double Pack has been charting quite a bit, so I could assume it's because of that.

Famitsu tracks both together.

For Pokémon Rumble World, I assume retailers are slashing prices? They still haven't sold all units shipped for Christmas, have they?

As for Pokémon ORAS, might be anticipation for the 20th Anniversary (maybe retailer deals)? Other than that, I don't see any other explanation.

Christmas dual pack came out at 10 December but it doesn't explain why sales rise almost every week lately.

3DS will be up a lot next week, this slide is over the new hardware.

I expect it to outsell Mario Maker and Splatoon debuts, the pre-order sales are apparently big. I think it still is the most pre-ordered game in Japan this week.

And I'm not surprised at Minecraft Wii U numbers, the retail will also sell like hot cakes and it's on track to become the best selling 3rd party game on the console. I believe it has the potential to outsell many 1st party titles as well.

Bronetta

Ask me about the moon landing or the temperature at which jet fuel burns. You may be surprised at what you learn.
Holy shit at SFV. Pokken is pretty much guaranteed to top that right?

The SFV numbers are not that surprising considering fighting games at this point in time is a far more core audience than the West. Even more so these days when the light users seem satisfied with playing the various F2P games on their smartphones instead of buying hardware / games.

Sofmap confirms via Twitter a good start in reservations of Dragon Quest Heroes II. Not only that, the game topped the Rakuten Daily Chart.
Atelier Shallie Plus and Summon Night 6 were quite popular.

You'll be hard pressed to find a free cabinet for any fighting or VS game in arcades in Japan. I'm wondering if the lack of an arcade release hurt retail sales, the number is appalling. Guess we will have to wait and see how Pokken and Tekken 7 fare to see if arcade presence makes a difference in Japan nowadays.

Yeah, it seems that the biggest complaint about SFV is that it's targeted towards hardcore players, yet it's actually straight to console without an arcade release. That seems counter-intuitive to me. Prior to SFIV release I was hunting out arcades where the local importer would have machines (Asia), but that hype just isn't there with a straight to console release, and FGC just play on consoles rather than arcade ... it all seems back to front to me. Especially when you skip arcade and go straight to console with such a weak proposition and ask full price for that. They deserve all the weak sales they get at the moment.
