I can finally partake in Media Create threads after lurking them for years. :')

Is MSGV still the best selling PS4 game in Japan so far?
As far as the data we have, yes.

Of course it actually isn't as a little game that we don't have data of came out last week.

Final Fantasy XV was the best selling game on PSN last week, not surprising, getting good reviews, not surprising either.

Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1 are right behind it, with Call of Duty already out of the charts.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 apparently was just released today in Japan as it wasn't on the top 20 at all.

Amazon must be wanting to get rid of whatever Xbox Ones they have left, they'll be dropping the price of these bundles to 19.800 yen until the end of the year.

A PS4 cost 29.980 yen.

Mega Man has an announced revival for mobile, though I feel I should mention that Devil May Cry and Lost Planet were brands Capcom kept listing as notable brands well after they stopped releasing games in them.

Oh yeah, I do remember the rumours about a new DMC (and the remasters released a while ago). As for Lost Planet... I'm not sure. I remember LP3 didn't do too well, though no idea if that was enough to kill the series or not.

Capcom doesn't have any dormant series without underperformers (which is why they're dormant in the first place).

Lost Planet 3 came out just 3 years ago and bomber really hard everywhere, I doubt they intent to give it another chance so soon

Apparently shipments haven't been so tight as anecdotal suggests. There have been sold 56k in next 2 weeks after launch.

Like I said before if Nintendo is in position to meet demand this month it could be the top selling hardware of holidays.

When do the new week's figures typically arrive? (Sorry I haven't kept up)

The blog will likely leak numbers a few hours before official reports.

Basically when you start seeing posts for digital, Asia, West and lately dead Japan, 15,5 hours from now.

Lots of new stuff this week. Feels weird to see Minecraft not being #1 not because of a clone.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Sun and Moon are now #3 and #4 on the weekly eShop charts behind even a Super Famicom game so not looking like digital legs.

IMHO, not having legs = going down much further thn 3rd and 4th for a specific week, due to brand new releases, honestly.

Looking at last weeks Japanese Anime BD/DVD sales and it seems FF XV sold at least 13k units!

*1.　13,383　13,383　Film Collections Box Final Fantasy XV Limited Edition Game Bundle (incl. Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV & Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV)

Hence that panic roadmap PR.

Or they just want to continue to modify and improve the game based on fan feedback like they've been doing ever since Tabata took over. From day 1 Tabata wanted fan feedback to help shape the game, how is it surprising that he would want to continue that past release?

Either way 600k-700k for week one of FFXV sounds about right with it being a PS4 game and all.

It's more about FF brand losing its relevance than about PS4. Installbase of PS3 was not that much higher when XIII launched and sold over 1.5 million first week.

FFXV should be carrying the PS4 in Japan, not the other way around. If it sold like half of FFXIII then it shows the overall weakening of Final Fantasy brand in that region.

There is no game to carry japan at the moment.

these are good numbers for the current console market in japan.

It's probably a mixture of both and the general Japanese industry down turn. It's not like there'a many PS4 games that even come close to selling that amount outside of Persona and I doubt they'll be many if any million sellers on the PS4 if even FF can't do so regardless of install base.
